Cut back on your utilities.  Use less electricity and gas.

Depending on whether or not you eat out or go out for entertainment a lot, cut back on that.

Of course, with the gas prices as high as they are, I would take up riding a bike or walking more to places close to your home.

Keep the air conditioner on one setting and leave it. Don't turn it up and down

Turn your hot water heater down just 3 degrees

Make sure your tires are  properly inflated (this is a biggie, it saves you tons on gas)

only eat out once a week, this includes fast food.

That's all I can think of right now, but I reserve the right to come back and add at any time. smiley

Captain, What Nick and Glenda said are good advice. Another way to save money in the long run is to buy items in bulk, Down here we have a BJ's Warehouse, it's like a Costcos and I buy items such as paper goods, spices, canned veggies and so forth there about once every 3 months. It may seem like a lot to put out at one time but when you weigh the difference between buying weekly and doing that, it does save big bucks. wink

Capt- so far you received the standard money saving tips, mine would be every time you break a dollar- take the change  and put it away

Thats a great idea. I never cash in my change from my tips at work. And I do right before Christmas and it is usually enough for everything I have to buy.

1 - Steal cable/internet from neighbors.

2 - Help old lady with groceries and proceed to "accidentally" take a few items for yourself.

3 - Shower once a week instead of once a day.

4 - Siphon gas from your neighbors.

5 - Scam pizza places.  As a former delivery driver, it's about as easy as being a bandwagon sports fan.

1. except for meat, chicken or pork..buy your groceries at the 99 cents store or Dollar Tree.
2. fill up your gas tank but only drive when absolutly necessary.
3. turn in recyclable items...cans, bottles, paper...etc.
4. it may not seem like much but put $25 away from each patcheck or SSI check.
5. like me I buy beer once a month ( two 30 packs) and drink them sparenly on the weekends, unless I bbq.

I thought I was the only person that mixed the two.  They are great by themselves, but together they are GREAT (Tony the Tiger voice).

That's what I used to do Glenda. Except I'd cash mine in when I wanted to go gamble..

Two 30 packs and just on the weekend? Sooo that`s 60 beer in 8 days? Hmmm that works out to 7 1/2 beer a day. No just wait if you miss a day that would be 8 1/2. Are you counting long weekends? Awww f**k it , this is getting too confusing! Cheersh Davish! :)

Hide your credit cards so you (your wife) won`t be able to find them. :)
