Wake Up!
Going on six months now I`ve been working the night shift, before that afternoons for a year. That suits me cause I`m not a early bird like those dang( wow I didnt swear!) birds outside my window every morning. I like to get up when the sun gets warm..well that doesn`t apply up here for 9 months in the winter. :( Also living in the city there is alot less traffic so it cuts down on my swearing, finger pointing and constant use of my horn. :)
So what about the rest of you beautiful Qers (50 bonus points for sucking up), what`s your favorite shift?

My favorite shift is when I get to make  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.  I work that Mondays and Thursdays.  Breakfast and Lunch the other 3 days.
I spend 1/3 of my shifts, standing in line and shopping and reading labels.
I`m too old to work

My work hours are pretty flexible. I do prefer not to have to work until after 10:00, and I actually don't usually sign in until around noon. I don't function before 10am - so I usually get up around then, do a couple of hours of housework, elliptical, shower, breakfast, and coffee, and then my brain can get to work. I'm a night owl so I do prefer the later shift and can happily work for awhile, do the "mom and wife" thing (make dinner, help with homework etc.) and then get back to work again after everyone in my house goes to bed.

I haven't had a set work schedules in years now and i work odd hours all too often. Im not really a morning person although i am often up by 7 am or have not slept at all , but still i like the day a little more usually once it gets past 10 or so. If i had to work a set schedule for some type of job i would likely lean to the night shift.

I guess my favorite shift is breakfast. People tend to eat then leave, they don't hang like they do at dinner.

I'm usually in around 7am and I'll stay until around 5pm this time of year.  Usually I'll work until about 4 or so and then only 4-5 hours on Fridays.

I always liked working day shift, but I'm enjoying working varying shifts and getting to do the evenings now, because the evening transporters actually work and don't complain all the time like the slack-offs of the day shift.

I've worked all three shifts-I like the day shift most, then nights, then evenings.  When I worked evenings, I'd get home at 11:30, then go out for a bit, then home at 2 or 3, sleep till 11 and..."Can't do this...gotta go to work...".  Nights were better-I could sleep until 2 or 3, then up and about until 10 before getting ready for work.  The worst thing was trying to adjust sleep schedule on off nights.   I learned to get up at noon (after 3-4 hours of sleep) so that I could go to sleep at a "normal" hour of midnight.

When you do what I do, you don't consider it "work".

Yep he sold the site to a larger company (PulsePoint, Inc.)

And I agree - I suppose with what I do, it's hard to really call it "work"...but I get paid no matter how much I love it, so I suppose it still constitutes a "job".

Technically I'm available for  work 24/7, but I'm in the office from about 7 or so til 5:30 or 6 Monday through Friday and occasionally a few hours Saturday and/or Sunday.. I don't really know any different
#24 | 787 days ago

I prefer earlier hours b/c I like to have my work day over with by 3 or 4 and then have the whole rest of my day to relax or do whatever.
#25 | 786 days ago

Been working 5:45 to 2pm for about 2yrs now. No traffic in the morning and a pretty good chance I beat the school bus home in the afternoon. I get home early enough on Friday it's like an extra day off!
#26 | 786 days ago

I prefer the night shift. I've worked days mostly though. I'm up at 5 ~ 5:30 am, regardless.

My favorite shift is the one that I don't have to work, but I'm not a morning at all a person... and I can't work the night shift unless it's from home because I wouldn't want work to get in the way of my drinking.

Your reply brought back memories of my time waitressing, I loved it. Agree mornings were great, but tip wise lunch & dinner rocked it.

I prefer the graveyard shift because their days are usually Sun-THU meaning Fri ans Sat off,but 9-5 is more normal for my field.

"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise."

"Work hard, play harder"

I live by both, prefer knocking my work out, and live for the weekends.  I pretty much set my own schedule, but I try and stick to 7-4 during the winter and 6-3 in the summertime.  I do have the ability to work from home, which is very very nice.

Oh yeah I work half as much as at dinner and make way more than I did at breakfast.   I work approximately  28 hours a week and only 2 lunch shifts the rest are dinners and I make very good money.
