The 10 Commandments
As I mentioned in 8 days I will become a single Father. I started thinking about coming up with some RULES so it helps the relationship between My Son and I. I started with the Golden Rule, but then thought, why not use the 10 Rules we were given by God, with a little twist. I may need help from my fellow Q'ers to get them right. My initial list is below. Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Do not worship any other Man, your Dad is "The Man"
2. Never watch American Idol in My House.
3. Never use Foul Language when talking to or about your Dad.
4. Keep Sunday open for NASCAR, NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA games.
5. Honor your Father, and call your Mother at least once a week.
6. Do not Murder anybody, outside of being in the Military,
7. Do not sleep with any of your Dad's G/F's even if they are closer to your age.
8. Do not steal, especially Dad's Truck.
9. Do not lie, you @$$ will be kicked.
10. Do not covet the neighbor Girl, unless Her Mom is HOT and Single.

Hell yeah!! That's an awesome list! I gotta use some of those. Truth be told just the fact that you are thinking of rules makes you better than most parents these daysyes!

 * Eating the last chocolate chip cookie rule?
 * Replacing the toilet paper rule?
 * Proper BB gun target rule? ( I just really want to know what that rule is for myself!!)
here is my advice

Hahahaha...I thought of putting back Milk carton empty Rule. Good choices, may have to make it 15 Commandments, just like Mel Brooks.

Do not forget the, I can change the rules anytime I want to rule. This is a very important one when you are raising them alone.

And congratulations Ed, you and Andrew are going to rock this. smiley

I wish I had some sage advice for you, but, as a female raising two boys, I have none. I am constantly calling persons with boys to ask, " is that normal?" , its a wonderful challenge, if you are anything close to your persona here, you will do great!

Jen you are lucky, I am raising two girls. And there is a reason people say, mothers of teenage daughters know why animals eat thier young. frown

At least Katie is now 22 and out of the teenage girl drama crap, they really are hell, it's awful.

I had that with Tori, my oldest, Glenda, believe me I know. But, at least when the hormones kicked in I could be helpful, I'm not even close when it comes to testoterone!

Reminds me of the Verizon commercial I just saw last night.  It was a counter to the one where mother and daughter are communicating through the tears and sniffles about her leaving.

The father and son are communicating through the grunts and elbow jabs.  The translation at the bottom of the screen providing the context of the call for those who don't speak "Men".
