Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Morning.

Saw another Spiderman preview... it said "Revisited". That will have to do, I suppose.

So, the Heat listened to me, I see. I got in my 7 chuckles, now GO OKC! At least, the series will be good and watchable now.

I wonder if the Lakers will be allowed a marquis PG next season... probably over Stern's dead body which can be arranged.... by someone else... mmmhmm.

Watched a lot of season finales this weekend. All were really good. Hawaii 5-O did a crossover episode with Ncis La, earlier and let me tell you.... NCIS is awful. the whole franchise. I hated almost everything about it. I did like how the dude with the ugly hair wore his jeans, but that was the highlight besides the dudes from my show being on there. Blah. I watched Modern Family, and OMG Alex's date made me rewind 5x, and then I just had to pause. It was awesome. And for some reason when I saw Cam, I started picturing him on AHS, "here pii...piii...piig", and I had another giggle fit. I may have been delirious yesterday.

Anyway, bl** me.

Our Kings, who art in the Stanley Cup Finals
Hallowed be thy game
Thy Kingdom come, thy wills be done
In this game, as it was in 15 before it.
Give us this day our daily goals, and forgive no Devil their transgressions
As we pound into submission those who trespass against us
And lead us not into game seven, but deliver us to Lord Stanley
Amen.

Sup people,

I'm done with boxing.  Watched the entire fight and then took off for my hotel upon it's conclusion (didn't wait for them to announce the winner).  Woke up to a text saying Paq lost.  WTF?  Anyone with a set of eyes that works knows who won that fight.  A complete and utter punchline...that's what boxing has become.

Congrats to the Heat for defending their Eastern Conference title.  We all know things would of been different had Rose not torn his ACL, but I'm looking forward to the Finals.  OKC in 7.  Boston now goes back into rebuilding meaning it's time for Alain to jump on a new bandwagon.  Who will it be?

I was Captain J Swol this weekend at the lake and man oh man was I drunk (not blacked out, Nick_Lush) off da rum.  My camera got pretty wet from being shoved in the water, but I'm hoping to recover pictures.  My getup was fantastic...almost as good as my pirate accent.

I did snap a pic on my phone last night while boating on Lake Michigan.

Don't look now but the Cubs are on pace to set a franchise record for losses.  Wait till next year, though!

Speaking of baseball, how about the Pirates and Orioles?  Never would of thought it would be an intriguing series back in April.

Speaking of the Orioles, what do you think of this hat Ash?  Sh*t is baller, no?

1.  Mini Reviews by the Movie Snob...

a.  London Boulevard.   Good movie.  If you like modern day gangster movies you'll enjoy this one.  Soundtrack was phenomenal.  The guy that directed this did the screenplay for The Departed.   Keira Knightly....eat a sandwich or 35.

b.  The Rum Diary.  I turned it off after about 40 minutes or so.  I just couldnt take it anymore.   The last 3 Depp movies NOT directed by Tim Burton and not including the Pirates franchise...Rum Diary, The Tourist, and Public Enemies.   What does that tell you.  Stick with Burton, Johnny.

c.  Prometheus.   I want to discuss this with someone else who has seen it.   I think Ridley Scott went to the George Lucas school  of How to Rape a Childhood.    Actually i cant blame it on Scott...he didnt write it.  The idiot from f**king Lost wrote it.   Why?  Why? Why?  Also dont buy the hype when you hear people say its not an Alien prequel.  It most certainly f**king is.   Even if you were to go in not knowing anything about any prior Alien movies you would  still come out of it  with a headache trying to figure out the huge plot holes.  I guess in space no one can hear you f**king suck.

Whodathunkit!  This series is a big test for both teams.  I'll be thrilled if we're talking NL Central crown on Labor Day, but first thing's first, win #82!  The Pirates are starting to show that they won't be pushed around, and beating the Reds 4 games in a week and a half was huge.  They've overcome a lot of...Hurdles the last 15 games.

McCutecheon is a beast and after looking at your farm system, you guys have a ton of young arms with a lot of potential.  How does the starting rotation look?  We could give you Demps or Garza for some of those young arms.  We'll call it even after we fleeced you guys for Aramis some years ago.

With the girlies, rubbing up in the dark

It was over, they spoiled my fun

Dying, nah, I ran through the back yard
Trying to get into my building
Thinking, "Why in the heck won't somebody kill them?"
One day the fellas got together
They vowed that no one would ever
Come on our block, and terrorize us

I've said many a day that I have a man crush for McCutchen.  Our rotation is just fine.  Matter of fact our entire pitching staff from top to bottom is the best it's been since probably the last time they had a winning team back in 1992.  I can't speak for Huntington, but I will not give up any of our arms unless it's a few of the guys in AAA like Owens or Locke for Garza, THEN it would be even.  This staff is excellent, and it all starts with finally having a competent pitching coach which they haven't had in about 15 years.

Damn...well I admittedly haven't been following baseball that closely this year (for obvious reasons).  Was hoping you guys needed a starter.  It's amazing how good coaching can change a teams fortunes.  Just look at the Heat.  Once they get a competent coach....well I don't really want to think about that.  For that reason alone....go Heat!

I agree the pitching staff as a whole from rotation to bullpen has been very good , and they now have some workable depth which is a big help in keeping it up for the long haul.

This team could make some noise esp if they can get guys like Tabata and Alvarez hitting. Alvarez has flashes of power but just can't seem to get on track with any kind of consistency , but if he comes around in second half would def add some middle of order protection to that lineup.

There's a slight problem with that logic.  You have to pick the best players available, and when they had the #1 picks they weren't doing that.  They passed on Matt Wieters, they could've had Jason Heyward, they drafted Bryan Bullington #1 overall back in 2002 and he never amounted to anything...I can go on and on.  They should've had a good farm system, but they didn't take the best players, they took the guy who was 4th best at his position, or the 9th best pitching prospect, or...you get the idea.  Neal Huntington was the best thing that ever happened to this front office over the last 20 years.  Bob Nutting knows it's time to put his money where his mouth is and start spending.  He said "we'll spend when the time is right."  Well, last year and this year is the right time, so start searching.  They brought in a few name free agents this year, and it's working well.

Interesting stat: A.J. Burnett's best year was with Rod Barajas catching when they were both with Toronto.  He's having a resurgence this year, and guess who he's reunited with behind the plate.

Top 10 picks don't mean as much in baseball because there is no salary cap.  When a player starts to pan out and live up to the hype, bigger market teams come calling.  At that point, smaller market teams like the Bucs, Royals, etc must move them before allowing to walk.  I love that the Cubs are usually players at the deadline, but it's still unfair im.

Three things baseball needs to do away with:
  • Salary cap
  • The DH
  • The lack of instant replay

I usually put bullet points on the slides and then memorize a descriptive paragraph of information for each point, so it appears that I know what I'm talking about, but usually I need the notes because I'll forget a few important details while presenting or start stuttering due to stage fright.

Yawn.

Sorry for my prolonged absence.  Being summer-ish, I work non-stop it seems between the golf course and the liquor store.  The stalker had her meeting with the brass on Friday and marched out of it crying, as usual.  The boss has told me the meetings do absolutely no good because the minute he starts to talk to her about things, she bursts into tears and sobs about how everyone thinks she is stupid (we do) and don't thank her for anything (we don't, she gives ridiculous cards that are unwanted and insulting, flowers to co-workers because SHE thinks they are having a bad day, and bottles of wine to the Assistant manager because she is brown-nosing) and don't respect her.  She was told:

1.  Stop talking to customers or co-workers about other co-workers' personal lives.
2.  Stop laying on the compliments, if you want to say good job or thank you, that's fine, but don't make s**t up.
3.  Stay out of other co-workers' lockers, even to put something in.  A locker is a private belonging, and off limits, even if there is no lock on it, the privacy is implied.
4.  No more cards, flowers, liquor, NOTHING.
5.  Do your job.  Do not assume leadership, you are not a supervisor, and because you are not a supervisor you have no right or obligation to comment on another's performance.

I had my meeting two weeks ago, as I told you all.  I didn't cry, pout or claim I did nothing wrong.  I admitted what I did, said I would do my very best not to do it again, but I would protect my privacy and right to it.

Now we'll see what happens.  She is back to work tomorrow, as am I.  Oh joy.

Going golfing as soon as the seniors finish up their games.  Got about an hour.  Think I might just sit in the sun and relax.

Have a great day all, and GO KINGS!

I taught my Florida buddies how to properly drink Corona this weekend.  They aren't huge drinkers, but I was shocked they had never heard to put a lime in it.  At that point I felt like Captain Morgan and struck a pose.

I can't resist..  and that of course would be open the bottle using your vagina, then lick lime juice off your friends' nipple then take a polite taste of Corona?

Bowling was so much fun on Friday. I did better than I expected. Afterwards, we went to the bar, it was a good time. Saturday I was tired all day, so just hung around the house.
I don't really have very much today. I am kinda busy with some new account stuff.

That could very well be true, but I sure did start trying to figure out in my head how amazing the 10-part series of Prometheus on HBO would have been.  I do have a surprising amount of Guy Pearce questions still lingering.. I could have used a little more about the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's father.  There's something more to that relationship.  See I don't wanna break it down, and I'm already starting.. Dammit.. Did somebody pull the Stoney reputation defender move?
1) Do something stupid and get caught on camera doing it
2) Stalk camera for hours trying to find a way to delete it
3) Give up, snatch camera out of hands of owner and throw in closest body of water
4) Smack picture taker in the face, pull out penis and urinate on the spot to mark both territory, dominance, and relief

Haha no but I like this plan of action......we were taking ridiculous pics all day.  Half way thru the day, I was standing along the edge of my buddy's boat when all the sudden out of nowhere I was tackled into the water by said buddy (w/ the camera hanging around my wrist).  Since we were close to a sand bar, I was able to stand up pretty quick, but not before the camera was submerged.  I didn't try and turn it on so I'm hoping it's good.  I'm just glad it was my party camera.  It gives me hope because it's taken a TON of abuse over the years, including being dropped into a huge bowl of jungle juice.

Or how about how the black goo disintegrated the engineer at the beginning of the movie..breaking him down into strands of DNA... but the same black goo just turned Shaw's husband into a mutant.  But before turning in to a mutant he managed to blow it into his wife who then gave birth to what I'm assuming was the first face hugger?  Which then implants an early version of a xenomorph into an engineers chest.   Uh.....

Or what about how when something really tall and narrow is falling on top of you...the smart thing to do is to continue running parallel to said tall falling object....right...i mean cause running perpendicular to that would save your life...and that would be horrible.

Or how about how Weyland is around 100 years old in this movie...but then makes an appearance in Aliens 3 (over a hundred or so years later at least) and is a spry young 50'ish.

Or how about why just because DNA is dumped into a waterfall on prehistoric earth that we came out with a DNA structure 100% equal to that of the engineer.  What are the odds of that happening?

Or how about how the xenomorph at the end of the movie looked different than the one in Alien if the host species were both engineeers?

Or how about how if there was an awesome 3 foot long vagina-penis snake thing in front of you why would your first instinct be to try and pet it?

Or how about if that was the biological weapon the engineers were taking back to earth to kill us all then why would they have used a weapon that turned us into huge kick ass super strong hulks?

see, now you're just asking questions out of anger and frustration..

I'd like to know if Charlize Theron cupped Luther's balls a little bit or if she said laid back and took some BBC.  She's not a robot after all.. Allegedly

What did they use for David's hair and is that product only available in the future?

oh, and here are you ranswers

A) I'm assuming it has to do with the state of the product when it was ingested and quantity of material consumed

B) They're women, what do you expect

C) 2 words.. Movie Magic

D) Obviously the odds are 100%

E) That's racist

F) Obviously biology scientist was lonely, didn't have many friends, and never saw Alien.. Even though I'm sure it wolud be on Turner Classic Movies by the year 2093

G) But ugly kick ass super strong hulks.  If you couldn't tell, the engineers were very into vanity.  Possibly with rampant homosexuality.  Which is why god ultimately destroyed them.  See what I did there?

B)  STFU.
G)  STFU.  (and I'm telling my f*gs ... you can expect the entire cast of Cirque du Soleil on your front lawn by sundown, protesting all that is you)

Oh, and stop staring at hot young latino women.  Or any other persuasion, for that matter.  I don't go around staring at hot young dudes and their impressive packages (...and tell you about it).  laugh

Good day bitches.

It actually IS a good day, for a change.  My day was less than 10 hours, so that's a plus lately.

I finished book two of the Hunger Games series (finally ... but considering I didn't actually start the thing until a few days ago, I'm pretty awesome).  On to book three.  Oh, I'm also reading "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?".  Yes, the book that the movie with almost the same name was based on.  It's cute so far, but very different from the movie already.  As in (spoiler alert), I'm halfway through and Roger is dead.  indecision

Today's FE is not THAT gay.  Granted, I haven't read most of it, just skimmed, but still.

Speaking of gayness ... isn't "Annie" pretty much standard for every kid to see before they hit their teens?  My friend/coworker Kim's little sister hasn't seen it and she's, like, 15.  Or ... 9.  I don't know, I'm not good with that stuff, but I think more like 15, she's in high school now.  The worst part is, she's a ginger!  (!!!)  Isn't Little Orphan Annie supposed to be their hero?  A heartwarming tale of somebody FINALLY wanting a ginger.  And he's super-rich, to top it all off.

Now Peter Piper Picked peppers, but Run Rocked Rhymes...

I have had a long day of new house cleaning, scheduling and other BS that allows me to drank some in a few...but first -

 -  ALAIN!!!!   F*** BOSTON forever (its like a Batman trilogy!!)  Them dudes are gone, basketball has righted itself...bring on the games!
In real retrospect, KG, Jesus and The Truth along with Rango were a worthy foursome of freaking tremendous applause and accolades.  Respects due to them as players.

-  Horse racing: That use to be fun.  Sad about the retirement, but glad they didn't have to put him down.

-  Boxing...this is a dying sport, run by crooked old men and ass-picious (yeah, I spelled it THAT WAY) announcers that are loquaciously assbackwards and egotistically befuddled.  That PacMan - Bradley fight card was in two words - A MESS!!  Never saw the s*** I was seeing in the three hours it took to create such tomfoolery....Shoot, that sounds like basketball too!!

-  Last things on legal issues:  Do any of you CARE if Clemens is guilty?  Should ANYBODY care???  And If Jerry Sandusky walks, We will all know the state of PA must breed dumb MFs and folks with only one eye.  This dude HAS A CHANCE TO WALK...folks scare me.

Bradley lost, LeBron Still won't have a title, KINGS WIN!!!, and OchoCinco will try out for the US Swimming team - hell, he ain't got NOTHING ELSE TO DO RIGHT NOW!!!

Twist it...hmmmm that is how I like it!!

1 - No desire to see Prometheus, but then again, I'm not a huge sci-fi fan so there's that.
2 - I wanna see Madagascar, but not really in the theaters
3 - I do want to see the Huntsman in theaters, which we were supposed to do this weekend but couldn't seem to drag ourselves away from the parks in time to go to anything but the late show, which I didn't want to do at the Fork & Screen...last showing at those (well, at least the one in Orlando), sucks due to unavailability of certain food and drink items and careless wait staff.
4 - I was such a dork and went to Medieval Times last night...maybe going doesn't make me a dork, but taking a bunch of pics, loudly cheering for my knight and booing for the others, buying a souvenir, and basically enjoying myself immensely does
5 - I went to my very first cupcakery last week - Sweet by Good Golly Miss Holly - it's a 2-time Cupcake Wars winner. It was fantastic. We bought a bunch of minis. My favorite was the chocolate pudding one, followed closely by the coffee (which tasted like a caramel macchiato in cupcake form). We had to drive 40 miles from our hotel just to get there, but it was so worth it
6 - I got to go to Joe's Crab Shack twice. I already want to go again...garlic herb steamed snow crab bucket with a twisted cherry limeade and a house salad with ranch on the side - perfection.
7 - We somehow got my daughter to ride The Mummy. She might be traumatized. She definitely won't trust me for a long, long time
8 - I miss Prison Break
9 - I hurt...mostly my feet, but also my back a little bit from the drive...I'm worn the heck out. I need a vacation...it's great to get back to work.
10 - LUCY, I'M HOME!

Ridley Scott's sort of Alien prequel.
Thank you, but that just leads to more questions:

1.) Did Alien (which I never saw) really lend itself to a prequel?
2.) To what extent does Ridley Scott directing (who I've faintly heard of) matter?

Eh, whatever. As I've mentioned before, I couldn't be more ambivalent towards movies, so it's not like I would've seen it anyway.

I know, I just needed to rant about the horrific management, which has improved the last 2 years.

Ignore him.

Even if it is a prequel, that's irrelevant. (I've never seen Aliens either. I think it has an "s" on it, I may have learned that from a crossword puzzle). It's a sci-fi movie starring a sexy black man named Idris Elba (google him) and my hot South African wife, Charlize (DO NOT google her). They are on a spaceship, Prometheus (see what they did there), and yada yada yada...try to save the world, which is really all that anyone can ask for, you know?

The first one was "Alien", the (first) sequel was "Aliens".  Both were awesome in their own way, but the second one (with the "s") was better.

Hey, I like the older style of suspense-building and story/plot/character development, too.  But I also like me some action and gore, too.  Plus, I know Ash would prefer the second one ... and she's the one I was talking to, Budinski.

I can't comment since I see approximately 1.3 new movies per year, on average.  I'll have to watch something you review and decide whether I think YOUR taste in movies sucks (then tell you what a stupid thing it was to say Ash's taste in movies sucks).
