Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I've been running ever since
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

It's been too hard living but I'm afraid to die
Cause I don't know what's up there beyond the sky
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me don't hang around
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

Then I go to my brother
And I say brother help me please
But he winds up knocking me
Back down on my knees

Ohhhhhhhhh.....

There been times that I thought I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

anyone else want a perfect game for their team? check your local listings for when they play the astros. if you're american league, you'll just have to wait til next year. (every bit of that statement makes me want to spew.)

i caught a teeny frog yesterday.

Howdy people,

Gonna make this short and sweet.  Cubs suck, the Dream Team doc was awesome, I had Mexican for dinner, and I'm leaving work in just over one hour.  Oh, and I own Nick_Lush.

Hey.

#10, that ain't so messy.

I turned Hardee's senior citizen discount yesterday. I post all day Saturday and I am going to treat myself to my own birthday party. On the way into work I am going to buy the mega humongusly ginormus breakfast and tell them I want my discount. I so hope they card me. It's almost as exciting as the first time I legally bought my first six pack. Then after work I am having a growler refilled and then pick up a steak as big as my face. Tomorrow I will buy a handful of cigars so I can fire one up after chomping on the steak. I am zipping up the netting on my gazebo thing for two reasons. One, keep the frigging bugs out, and two, keep me from rolling off the deck.

OMG.

Later.

At the kid's swimming lessons. No hot milfs. No hot instructors. I'm bored and want to throw the autistiC kid in the pool just to see all the ugly soccer moms sh** themselves. He's sitting on the side od the pool with floaties and goggles staring up at the lights with his head cocked slightly to the left and mouth open. I'd like to run up to him and yell "captain wrench green shirt nine club" and see if that switches him "on".

Morning, f**kers!

I, too, am leaving work at 11:30am today, but, it's not to get my drink on and black out, like JSWOLush.

It's Global Impact Day where I work and I am heading to do volunteer work to help the needy for the afternoon. Apparently, that means that I will be bartending and serving JSWOLush all afternoon.
 cool

I read that the Airlines are cutting back on flights due to congestion in the air?  surprise   I never thought I would see the day that there is too much traffic, IN THE SKY!  WTF?!?!

It appears that, not only is JSWOLush a black kid trapped in a white boy's body, (not that there is anything wrong with that), but he's also delusional!  So, let's see........a delusional white man who thinks he's black.....hmmmmmm

Oh yes!  This dude!

Good morning..
How about that Matt Cain? It took an effort like that to overshadow the performance RA Dickey had earlier in the night.  I look around the league and see all of these great pitching performances, then on a nightly basis subject myself to possibly the worst pitching staff in the history of major league baseball.  It makes my heart hurt..

The US Open is underway at the Olympic Club, and streaming on my computer yes The battle to stay near par has begun.

I've had a bit of free time open up lately and am starting to get back into some of my hobbies I've neglected..  I want to do a recreation of an MC Escher piece.  Any suggestions?

Ok peace out

Hello out there in FanIQ Land!  It's back to work again today until all hours of the night.  I get to work with Little Hitler tonight, I'm not looking forward to it.  The most laid back supervisor told me the other night she thinks this team leader is trying to show them up cause she wants a supervisor position.  She doesn't deserve it based on experience within the department, and she doesn't practice the "dignity and respect" part that the hospital strives to provide to both patients and employees.  She's the most condescending person I've ever worked with in the 6 years I've been in this department, and nobody of authority is listening to what we're saying about her.  3 people in one night complained that she was arrogant and rude to them, and she's even done it to me.  You do things your way and I'll do them my way.  Don't tell me that I should be like you because you think your way is the only way to get stuff done.  Nobody respects her.  I am respected because I listen to people when I'm at work, and don't jump to conclusions, whereas she's so quick to blame the transporter every time before hearing the whole story, it's automatically their fault in her eyes.

I gotta go replace the battery on my smoke alarm, it just started the dead battery chirp.

BK over and out

Last winter International Delight coffee creamer had a "limited edition" Cinnabon creamer...I stocked up, but of course you can only use so much creamer before it expires so I didn't go too crazy. Early this spring I noticed it was gone...they stopped making it. The limited time had ended. Last night I had to get coffee creamer and I'd found this Coffee Mate natural bliss just plain vanilla that I love. Went to get that and what do I find? A whole shelf of big giant International Delight Cinnabon Creamer bottles! And the best part? The "limited edition" banner was gone from the bottle. BOO-YAH! That made my day. And again this morning while I was drinking my coffee. mmmmmmm

I'm tired. I stayed up entirely too late last night.

I can't get into Draw Something - it's doing the loading cycle and never quite getting to the "Your turn" page. Ugh.

It's sugar ant season. That is something I will not miss about Florida - all the effin bugs. If it's not sugar ants it's fire ants. If it's not one of those, it's wasps in the screened patio. If not one of those, it's scorpions...I'm over it.

There was something interesting on "The Herd" this morning.  He was talking about Cain's perfecto and brought up a good point, all the best athletes aren't playing Baseball anymore.  Cain has been with SF since 2004 and up until his start before last night, had never had a record above .500.  He also said that Home Runs per season are down from 5300 in 2005 to 4500 last year and while the averge height/weight of NFL players has gone up 3 inches and 40lbs in the last 10 years, MLB has stayed the same over the past 25 years.

So long story short, it's not so much that pitching is so much better now, it's that the other guys are quite a bit worse now because they're playing football and other sports.  Kinda makes you wish for the days of steriods eh?

Konichiwa B!tches,

I'm ready for work to be over today.  I'm fighting a very strong urge to just walk around the building karate chopping mother f##kers and/or commiting homicide.

While I was driving around this morning trying to get a last minute order for one of my bosses f**k-tarded homies put together, I noticed that my eyes were Brown today.  Usually they green, I read somewhere that that's a common genetic defect of the Irish.  Personally I find being part camellion pretty f##king cool... like a ninja son!!

Being both Dutch and German, I was both excited and sad to see Germany defeat the Netherlands in Euro Cup yesterday.  I enjoy watching "The Fatherlands" play the other football, but for the life of me I can't figure out 'offsides'.  Anyways, GO GERMANY!!!

And I'm officially selling my NHL fandom to the highest bidder.  So, what would you give me to make YOUR favorite team MY favorite team?
#41 | 343 days ago

Hola amigos y amigas

Work is kinda busy for me today. Its hot and sunny out and I wish I was not inside this building. Only bad thing about sitting at my desk and not behind the teller line is that I am by this big window and I can see whats going on outside. I am easily distracted.

So a cop just came in here. I guess someone in this business complex was robbed and he wanted to see if we had video at the back door but we don't. So now they are looking around the empty lot across the street. My excitement for the day.

This song is on my playlist right now so you should share it with me...Have a great day!

"Cyclone"
(feat. T-Pain)

(Oh oh oh its fud a dud a nine)

[Chorus:]
She moves her body like a cyclone
And she makes me want to do it all night long
Going hard when they turn the spotlights on
Because she moves her body like a cyclone
Just like a cyclone
She moves her body like a cyclone
And she makes me want to do it all night long
Going hard when they turn the spotlights on
Because she moves her body like a cyclone
A mighty cyclone

I look at that double on the back a that bumper
She ain't even playing when shes shaking that rumpa
And oh you ain't know
She gets lower than a muffla
Even wit her girl friends
Show stopping with a hustler
The way she move her body
She might see the Maserati
She wanna put it on me
Trying to show me her tsunami
She make it hard to copy
Always tight and never sloppy
And got an onturage
And her own paparazzi
Now there she go again
Riding through the stormy weather
You better button up if you wanna go getta
'Cause it is what it is
And everybody wanna love her
But when she pop it boy you better run for cover

(It's a wrap)
When she breaks them boys of a typhoon
(It's a wrap)
Better get that fatty like a boss tycoon
(It's a wrap)
Now hold it steady cause she make a monsoon
(it's a wrap)
Now you can Google download the iTunes
She what I'm saying
She ain't playing
And she got them heads turning
You gonna her it clack-clack
When them heals get to burning
(clack-clack)
Stiletto so fuego
She got her own label
And got us all doing the tornado

Shortie got looks
And shortie got class
Shortie got hips
And shortie got ass
Plus she hit the stage
She drop it down low like
(rew rew rew rew rew rew rew rew)
Ah this is crazy
Its amazing
She must be the way to the ladies
She be looking like
(rew rew rew rew rew rew rew rew)

I finally saw Prometheus and enjoyed it, but the story/screenplay/characters are meh. I don't know how you tell a two hour story and tie a big red bow around the theme of our origins, faith, science, etc. and the hubris with which we seek answers. I think it's pretty clear that "we can't handle the truth." btw, where was that scene with the 'engineers' in the film. Apparently in the Alien mythos we're some kind of lab rats/pests maybe even petrie dish organism that were left to our own devices after the other bio-weapons they were 'engineering' ran amok. Is that why the last one was going to earth? Stop the spread of another one? Are we a virus too? See there are questions but I don't buy beta Ripley's plan to take Fassbender-bot to THEIR planet to get answers. Really? The whole movie was basically summed up when Fass-bot asked poor man's Tom Hardy, "Why did you create me?" and he answers, "Because we could." Boom, there ya go. The answer to the meaning of life, the universe and everything is just cuz. (42 for you Douglas adams fans.)

You could probably punch holes in this movie's concept and plot all day, but it's still a solid B.

Slow day at work for once. I just had a Portillo's beef sandwich for lunch. Best in the city IMO.

Stuffed. I don't see myself doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

Ok peace out
My Escher vote is "Gravitation" because it looks like a 70's album cover and... just cuz.

I actually agree with him as far as our best athletes are playing Football and Basketball instead of Baseball. Since pitching is something you're either good enough to do or not, I can see that since we're seeing 2-3 no-no's a year is a result of the batters being worse than previous decades.

If not for the Herd, I'd be left with listening to Pop music or Bob and Tom on the drive into work.... so the only option I really have is the Herd or road sounds.

That's only a difference of about 1 homerun for every 3 games played. MLB's ERA hasn't been below 4.00 since '92. The big difference I think is the fact that the steroid era placed a premium on pitching and teams focussed on over drafting, developing and just generally making pitchers better. (Kirkjian's words, not mine) He mentions how every team now has a few guys that can get the ball up over 95 with a really good out pitch (cutter, slider, change, etc.) The last 15 years plus made teams focus on stopping hitters. Just like the NFL today places a premium on pass rushers and cover corners to off-set the pass happy offenses.

Happy Chicken Parm Day. It was great, btw, thanks for asking. One thing today. In Texans news, Owner Bob "Gullable" McNair has given extensions to General Manager Rick Smith & (hack) Head (cough cough) Coach (choke) Gary Kubiak. Until I read the story online I was hoping when they said extensions that  they meant Hair Extensions. "Dredlocks" or something. But noooo, contract extensions. Smith, okay. Why not. The other one? smdh Looks like our "One" will be Flying Over the Texans Cookoo's Nest for years to come. Can't stay, I gotta go.  Heard the Astros need a Hitting Coach...

First of all, I'm shocked no one has mentioned the new Bacon Sundae from BK that I've seen.  Really?  WTF is going on around here?  *sigh*

Now that THAT'S out of the way...
I've got nothing.  I'm tired and cranky and they're doing some odd, unnecessary construction near my house that is killing my outdoor relaxation time.

Cain is notorious for never getting any run support, partially because the Giants offense is usually bad and partially because of bad luck. He's been one of the better pitchers in the league the last six years. His career ERA is 3.28 (126 ERA+). His record has nothing to do with his skill as a pitcher.

Allow to me rant for a bit. I discovered this article today and it could not have pissed me off more. It's about lockdown drills schools have in response to school shootings (which if you think about aren't all that common, this matters coming up here). This wasn't any old lockdown drill though that took place in May in Methuen, MA. I don't know if this is happening everywhere, but given our burgeoning police state, I wouldn't be surprised. (that guy from Jersey, just save yourself time and call me a hippie now)

A man with spiky frosted hair and a camouflage visor ran down the hallways of Timony Grammar School yesterday morning, yelling for his son at the top of his lungs.

The man was a Methuen policeman, Detective Ron Valliere, playing the role of a highly aggravated parent who said he had a gun and wanted his son immediately. It was all part of a coordinated lockdown drill, an exercise designed to test the training of police, special operations teams and the school administrators, teachers and students.

OK, there were lockdown drills when I was in school, but they did not involve police officers yelling like crazy people.

Administrators and teachers at Timony were not notified in advance. Scannell and Solomon told principal Timothy Miller about the drill when they arrived just before 10 a.m. yesterday. Immediately after Miller was informed, Valliere ran down the hall, yelling, "I want my son! I want my son!"

Uh, what? Administrators and teachers didn't know in advance? Who started this, the police? It also stands to reason that the students (and read up, this was an elementary school) obviously didn't know about it. When I was in school, at least someone at the school knew these things would happen, and again, THEY DIDN'T SIMULATE AN ACTUAL GUNMAN.

"The parent" wound up in the auditorium, where he told several students there to leave and hid behind a screen on the stage. The students, who were helping another teacher with Revolutionary War props and did not hear the drill announcement, complied and filed into a hall, where physical education teacher Brian Angelari spotted them and led them into a downstairs room.

So not only were students completely unaware of this drill, some weren't even aware it had started. I'm sure it wasn't traumatizing to have a yelling nutcase run into your classroom.

Solomon said yesterday he received a phone call from a parent who wanted notification before drills so she could keep her child out of school that day. "But that defeats the purpose. They would be the child who wouldn't know what to do when everyone else does," he said.

It's not hard to figure out. It's not like individuality is allowed in schools as it is. Amazing a parent would want to avoid having her kid scared *bleep*less for the sake of a "security drill."

Soon after, a special operations team in full gear — but with fake blue rifles — filed into the Timony and positioned themselves around the entrances to the auditorium, barrels trained on the stage. Police talked "the parent" out from behind the screen, and eventually into allowing two officers to reach him and secure him in handcuffs.

Again: Elementary schoolers exposed to their school turning into a hostage zone. Yeah, the guns were fake, but how were they supposed to know that? Remember, THEY DON'T KNOW IT'S A DRILL. For all they know, this is real and they are in real danger.

"They did really good," Angelari said of the students he found in the hallway. "One girl teared up, but I told her, 'It's okay. The police are on it.'"

Remember the latest Random Questions thread, where I said the worst thing about childhood is being condescended to? This is was what I was talking about.

The girl said after the drill that her friend helped keep her calm. Cam Boes, 11, in the fifth grade, said they did not know that the whole thing was an exercise until Miller announced that it was over.

We're not actually in danger! What was the point then?

It just burns me up to expose children to such trauma in the name of security theater, especially when the odds of a shooting at a specific school aren't actually high. You can do a drill so they know what to do without actually simulating a gunmen and a massive police action. This would be like setting off smoke bombs during a fire drill. Plus now they've seen it for "real," if it actually does happen, you run the risk of Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrome. Argh.

I usually dont agree with alot of your opinions, but this is total BS. We didn't have wind machine blowing during tornado drills at school and smoke bombs during fire drills. If my sons school pulled some sh*t like this I'd be down there having somebodies a**. Having simulated drills like this for adults is one thing, but pulling this on kids is totally unacceptable. They didn't know it was a drill and having the sh*t scared out of that one little girl makes me want to punch that principal in his fu**ing mouth.
