Which Bruins goalie will break out in 2012-2013? (Edited 06/23/12 09:10PM by adawg1995)
With the impending departure of two-time Vezina trophy and Conn Smythe trophy winner Tim Thomas before the 2012-2013 season, the Bruins are in need of another goalie to step up and take the goaltending reins in Boston. Only having one goalie (Tuukka Rask) who has had credible NHL experience after Thomas' and Marty Turco's possible departure, 2012-2013 is likely to be a year where a younger goalie, starter or not, makes a name for himself in Boston as the depth chart changes. The Bruins have many goalies in their twenties with AHL or foreign league experience who are ripe for NHL jobs, but it will not be unusual if Malcolm Subban, Boston's first-round pick in the 2012 draft, to step up this season and intensify the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry against P.K., his older brother.

*Note- The league in which each goalie played in last in the 2011-2012 season is listed in parentheses.
SEL=Sweden Elite League.

0%a. Anton Khudobin(AHL)- Acquired at the 2011 trade deadline, Khudobin has gone 68-62-8 in the AHL and 5-1-0 in the NHL. The Kazakh's save percentage is .961 and is good enough to at least be a backup.
0%b. Malcolm Subban(OHL)- Drafted 24th overall in the 2012 entry draft, the brother of P.K. has gone 35-31-2 in three seasons with Belleville. There's a spot on the roster for him should Khudobin not make the cut.
0%c. Michael Hutchinson(AHL/ECHL)- With no NHL experience and a 26-24-2 record in the AHL in addition to a 10-5-4 record in the ECHL, Hutchinson will probably get a chance to play a few NHL games, but needs a starting role in AHL to prove himself.
0%d. Niklas Svedberg(SEL)- Signed to a contract in the offseason, the 22 year-old has a save percentage above .900 after several years in the SEL. Due for some minor league time, but foreign experience is valuable.
0%e. None, Tim Thomas will stay
100%f. Tuukka Rask (NHL)- After posting a 22-12-5 record in 2009-2010, Rask has been relegated to a backup role for two seasons and is ready to be a starter.

Rask because he's actually going to play the majority of the games as Thomas is done in Boston.
