Your Salieri Moment
Remember that scene in the movie Amadeus, when Salieri picks up Mozart's sheet music, reads it and closes his eyes then hears it in his head and is blown away by it? Just out of this world good. Jaw dropping. In-effing-credible.

The question: What is the most incredible, out of this world thing you have ever witnessed in person? A play in sports? A concert? Meeting someone phenomenal? What was your mind blower?

I've got two:

I was about 10 feet away from Bill Hicks (off stage) the night he kinda rehearsed some stuff that would become his Relentless album that he would record in a bigger venue a few days later. Simply unreal. it's the moment I knew I needed to find a different line of work.

I also saw Darryl Strawberry d@mn near hit a ball OUT OF the Big O (Olympic Stadium). It just went and went and went and then  ricocheted of the ring of lights on the roofs covered opening. My brother and I still giggle about and shake our heads. Words can't do it justice.

watching a midget stripper who kind of looked like a cross between Gabrielle Union and Ernie Hudson (ok, a little more like Ernie Hudson) pick up a dollar without using her hands or any other joint

The good.....watching Rocket return not one, but two kickoffs for scores vs Michigan back in 1989.  I've been at a few Bears games when Devin Hester took some kickoffs/punts to the house, but I HATE Michigan so muc I give Rocket the edge.

The bad....traffic jam on the Edens back when I was 8-9 years old.  Guy comes flying past us on the inside shoulder on his motorcycle when a car about 20' ahead pulls onto said shoulder to try and see what the hold up was.  The guy on the motorcycle couldn't avoid the car, hit it, and flew a good 50-100'.  Dead on impact.  I had nightmares for weeks.  To this day, it's the reason I'll never ride a motorcycle.

We got jokes, huh?

I guess mine will be seeing a grown man going around asking people to "ice" him.

.I've got a few, music wise.

Headbanged on Ronnie James Dio's boots at the Convention Center Arena in San Antonio. He gently lifted
my head off his feet and looked straight through me and smiled. Never been so scared in my life. 1983

Meeting Yes was incredible. However, standing first row about 10 feet away from Steve Howe playing (it seemed) like he was playing just for me, I think I starting bawling during Heart of the Sunrise. Totally overwhelming out of body experience.

When my first granddaughter Alanna was born. As soon as I saw her,,,,,,,,no words.

I need a to start wearing the  GoPro helmet cam

1) Meeting Walter Payton and watching him play, while standing on the sidelines, as an 8, 9 & 10 yr old (including the 275 yd game vs MIN)
2) Having drinks with Dave Grohl!

I once watched a young man and cute little foreign chick stand on the bow of a ship, enjoying the breeze as the ship sank into the  Atlantic.

(I don't recall witnessing anything more mind blowing in my life)

(oh, on Leigh's note, my mom's first house had a closed in porch with tinted windows. The first time I saw a bird run into it... :| like whoa.)

Being at the game where the Braves clinched the 1991 NL West. John Smoltz pitched a complete game. They put the Dodgers-Giants game on the scoreboard. The team stood and watched along a few thousand fans. I don't know how many hours we stayed and celebrated after but it was the coolest thing I've witnessed that didn't have something to do with my children.

... that's me in the crowd up in the nose bleed section.

Going to the Elvis concert in Baltimore, 6 weeks before he died. It was something I always dreamed of doing.

Standing on the beach in Ocean City Maryland when Hurricane Irene was heading up the east coast and only about an hour away from hitting land.. The winds and waves were so intense and fierce, the sand was blowing all over me ...even in my ears.. Stayed till the first wave crashed over my head then went back to my condo to drink A LOT! and watch it from my taped up window.

He knows the Bulls beat the Knicks that year- in the 90's the Knicks mightve had a couple of rings except for a guy named Michael- 4/6 Eastern Finals the Bulls had to go through the Knicks to get there- - - - JSWOL- if it wasnt for freaking Charles Smith angry

Hmmm, I see awesome stuff all the time, mostly "acts of random kindness", keeps my faith in the human race alive and thriving. April 5, 2012, I saw a tornado up close, that was pretty wow, wtf, awesome and scary.

now, as a point of reference, you have to tell people to youtube it, Marcus. It is one of his top 3 best homers StrawMan ever hit. In St.Louis, they still talk about the bomb he hit off Tudor in next to last game of 1985 season that was just starting to come down and hit 3/4 of way up the old scoreboard in old Busch Stadium.

I thought you were going to be funny here.

Me personally, I will save my spot for when some hot chick slaps Nick when he asks her for a Zima, and she says, "I don't do that sort of thing!"

LMAO

forget Charles Mamby-Pamby Smith, if the refs didn't call so many fouls just for breathing on MJ as he blew past you while he can shove someone 5 rows in the seats to get a shot off, would have been much different. Not to mention all the non-foul calls against Ewing

Seeing 3 games in Atlanta  - Braves vs. Reds (Deion Sanders played for Cowboys and Reds)<----at least I think it was the Reds...We were there to see the Braves and I was shocked to see Deion in outfield....I yelled GOOOOO BRAVES!!  HIYA NEON DEION! lol  He turned around and grinned.  Made my day :)  Was in 1990 something..still got ticket stubs in my scrap book ;)

Seeing WWE's Undertaker live and in person at a store here!  He is a sweetheart!

Seeing Stone Cold Steve Austin live 3 times in Memphis at RAW and filming Smackdown.

Going to St. Louis and seeing Cardinals vs Phillies..2 games.

And the #1 thing - Going to Toby Keith concert in Memphis...with snow and ice on the road. Best concert I've ever been to!!! ;)
