It's a lousy time of year to look for full time work in FL.  It picks up in September/October.   Did you
ever try over at Innisbrook?   Good Luck!!

Hola.

Kevin, do you work M-F?
#11 | 320 days ago

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

My fellow Q-tizens, I stand before you, a humbled man.  For nearly half a century (yes, f**kers, so f**k you) I have considered myself somewhat of an artist in the arena of saying things without saying things, if you know what I'm saying.  However, I have recently been exposed to a true master of the bool$h*t renaissance.  I have encountered a person who utilizes the English language much the same as Yoda utilizes a lightsaber.  I am dedicating today's opening post to the Michaelangelo of liturgy, Michigan Republican Representative Thaddeus McCotter.

Rep. McCotter announced his retirement yesterday from further criminal activities The United States House of Representatives.  I would like to take just a select few exerpts from his retirement speach, and attempt to translate them for lower life forms (you and I).

"After nearly 26 years in elected office, this past nightmarish month and a half have, for the first time, severed the necessary harmony between the needs of my constituency and of my family. As this harmony is required to serve, its absence requires I leave."

First off, 26 g*d d*mn years is way too f**king much.  However, notice that our master specifically designates the last month and a half as "nightmarish".  This means that the first 25 years, 10 months, and 15 days were just by-gawd peachy.  Somebody got busted doing something he shouldn't have been doing.  As this particular event has "severed the harmony between the needs of my constituency and of my family", one can safely assume that his job somehow f**ked with his private life.  This is sometyhing that apparently didn't sever the harmony the other 25 years, 10 months, and fifteen days.

Cactus Jack is thinking maybe there's another intern with a blue dress floating around D.C.

"I do not leave for an existing job and face diminishing prospects (and am both unwilling and ill-suited to lobby), my priorities are twofold: find gainful employment to help provide for my family; and continue to assist, in any way they see fit, the Michigan Attorney General's earnest and thorough investigation, which I requested, into the 2012 petition filing."

Here it is in a nutshell:  He was about to be busted bigger than $h*t, and he knows that with today's job market, the chances of a retired politician finding a job are slim to f**king none.  Seriously, aside from embezzlement and other white collar crimes, what the f**k are they qualified for?

"While our family takes this step into the rest of our lives, we do so with the ultimate confidence in our country's future. True, as at other times in the life of our nation, we live in an Age of Extremes that prizes intensity over sanity; rhetoric over reality; and destruction over creation. But this too shall pass, thanks to the infinite, inspired wisdom of the sovereign people who, with God's continued blessings, will again affirm for the generations American Exceptionalism."

Its pretty, I'll give him that, but what our subject is saying in plain old english is that our country has gone completely off its f**king rocker.

"In closing, to The People of Michigan's 11th Congressional District, I can but say this: Thank you for the privilege of having worked for you."

Suckers!

That's our lesson for today.

You've been edJACKated!

Had an enjoyable morning watching Serena win her 5th Wimbledon title, as well as the first big mountain stage of the Tour de France. I also survived a trip to the grocery store in this ridiculous weather. It's now 104 out there. The all-time record of 106 could be hit or eclipsed today. Needless to say, I'm spending the rest of the day in the AC.

I am looking for a better job, the one I have will do for now, but I am looking for something else. The interview I had today, if I got the job I would be working in a warehouse, better pay, Monday through Friday, day shifts, plus bonuses and paid vacations. I have another interview on Monday. Thanks for the link Laurel, I will check it out.

It could very easily hit 108 degrees actual temp here in Louisville today, which would be an all-time high.
I went to see Spiderman 3-D this morning.  I was pleasantly surprised that this film utilized 3-D better than most films I've seen recently and I wasn't horribly disappointed with the reboot (which a friend of mine says isn't a reboot, it's the start of a completely new series...but whatever).  This little girl
basically told me I HAD to go see it today or else.  She loves her Marvel Comics better than most little boys her age, so how could I say no?

Take a minute.............just got this message from my friend Eric, who is supposed to be coming home next month,

Not sure if my numbers are correct but as of today, we have had about 1/4 of our company involved in blasts. About 8 different soldiers arrive at KAF via medivac. 1 permanently assigned to the base for the rest of the year, and 1 purple heart awarded so far. If the Lord will just watch over us for the next 2 months, because that is when the worst things have been happening. Time to man up boys so we all go home safely!!!!

I should have one of these earlier today:

Sweet wonderful nectar of the gods.

Wine leads to a headache hangover, even if I only have four glasses and hydrate. Dumb. Monster fixed it though. heart

I've been kind of shopping and trip planning today. Not really planning, just checking out hotels along the loosely planned route and pet accommodations/deposits/fees.

I'm currently trying to decide if I want to tackle my ipod playlist - I reset it recently to default and need to repopulate. I guess "recently" was several months ago....I'm so effing lazy.

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

Oh those fabulous Frenchies.  Apparently they are all butt-hurt about the English language sneaking into their terminology, and they are creating their own new words to take place of the English words invading Gay Paris faster than the Nazis took over in the giant wrasslin match II.  Cactus Jack says they need not worry about changing words like "spam" and "chat" as much as they need to change words like "quit" and "surrender".

Anderson Silva proves yet again that running your pie-hole before the fight does about as much good as farting in a tornado.  Congrats on retaining the belt Silva, even though thats the second time you sneaked your way out of an a$$ whoopin.

The Houston Texans may have found a way to win a game this year.  They just throw players from other teams in jail.  Minnesota running back Adrain Peterson, who might wanna change his name to "All Night" after this, got arrested in Houston for disorderly conduct after an incident in a nightclub with some off-duty cops.  Police reports said it took three cops to finally subdue Peterson, which is three less than the Bears needed to subdue him, so there's that.  Peterson complained that he was winded after the incident, probably a result of skippin out on too many off-season workouts.

That's the news for today.

You F'ers have been edJACKated!

I don't mind the Hatfields.  Yet, I live on the McCoy side of the tracks.  I guess all the similarities had to end somewhere.

Kevin, I will be making the sticky maple bacon bars very soon.  They look absolutely sinful, which is a guarantee that I will be in ten kinds of love after one bite.

The bad news:  It hasn't started raining yet.

Good Evening, Everybodee!  (Or at least, everybodee who's here.)   (And still, those who haven't been blown away or flooded out...stay safe y'all.)

Went out for fireworks last night.  I was at the concert on Friday, so last night, I got to see the show from directly below the fireworks.  I was able to bring my niece out as well.  I think she enjoyed setting them up and watching the show.  (I've been told that you either get hooked working with the fireworks, or not.  Nothing in between.)
