Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I hate when I get a little sleep, cause then I will get none for days. Bitch about this, moan about that, woe is me... per usual.

Oh, apparently my baby sister is gonna be suicidal when the zombie apocalypse occurs, and the other will not be looking for child of a stranger for more than 3.5 minutes OR getting supplies if dodging a herd is necessary. Obviously, I would like for us to all be in completely separate places when we all become infected.

Jason_, I'm not sure we're speaking today. I will let you know........possibly.

Happy Monday,

Rizzo continues to be the shizzle for the Cubbies.  He's hitting .354 to go with 4 HRs and 9 RBIs (in just 10 games).  His OPS is 1.055 which is just crazy.  If he can keep it somewhat close to that number, Chicago has found it's next superstar.  Oh, and the Cubbies are no longer the worst team in baseball.  Houston, you have a problem (sorry Leigh).

What a great two weeks it's been traversing the midwest while working sparingly.  Between South Haven, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and going to various lake houses/Michigan spots, this guy is beat.  Great times all around, but I have to say the highlight was seeing a few of my best friends in Kzoo (they live in other parts of the country now).  Man did we get it done that night....have not stayed up till 5am in ages.  Do we look drunk (this was somewhat early in the night)?

What's the deal with Newsroom...worth the watch?  Keep hearing great things about and I have absolutely no idea what it's about.

First?? AGAIN??? Has to be some kind of record!!

Morning Q'ers!!!  Weather broke a little here today....after triple digit temp on Saturday with 90% humidity, it's a more comfortable 75 with about 50% humidity.  Don't give me grief, Kat and Kenne...it's NOT a dry heat!

Went to see my son's band play on Saturday Night in Asbury Park...no, not the Stone Pony (they've been there, done that)...they played at a bowling alley as their official CD release show.  Sounded GREAT!  Their name is Breathing Blue (http://www.breathingbluemusic.com) and they just made their first video....http://youtu.be/P172zsOabUA.  It's for their song "Guerilla".  My son is the one in the video who flicks the cigarette....check it out.  Their music is available on itunes (I think...)

Yankees took 3 of 4 from the Red Sox over the weekend, and it should have been a sweep.  Yankees scored in the first inning of EVERY GAME.  I've always said that ANY major league pitcher SHOULD be able to get out of the first inning without giving up a run...

Thought for today (an oldie but goodie)..."Wherever you go...there you are.....

Good morning!

I saw two movies this weekend----People Like Us and Tyler Perry's latest. People Like Us was a good movie----great acting, good character development........I'm sad it's not doing well in the theaters because it's really good. It's Descendants-ish.yes

Tyler Perry's latest was enjoyable. I didn't pay so that could have influenced my opinion.....along with a full and happy stomach. I'm not sure why Tyler Perry dressed up as Madea tickles me but it does. It's the first one of his movies I've seen in the theaters. People love him.

Game 6 will be aired today at 3 and I'll probably watch it .....AGAIN. Game 6 is my crack.

Lastly.....I want a boat.

haven't chirped since last monday:

I got the Go Big Home package at the Fireworks store....it was AWESOME, I was gigling like a school girl lighting these puppies off on a swim platform in the lake.....I love the 4th!!!!!!   This is why we shoot off fireworks BTW, I'll have to bring my gun next year laugh

For as long as Americans can remember, the nation has celebrated the Fourth of July by staging grand fireworks shows in public squares and lighting smaller displays at home. Why do we commemorate Independence Day by setting off thousands of small explosions?

Because John Adams wanted us to. Before the Declaration of Independence was even signed, he envisioned fireworks as a part of the festivities. In a letter to Abigail Adams on July 3, 1776, he wrote that the occasion should be commemorated “with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” The first commemorative Independence Day fireworks were set off on July 4, 1777. The Pennsylvania Evening Post wrote that in Philadelphia, “The evening was closed with the ring of bells, and at night there was a grand exhibition of fireworks (which began and concluded with thirteen rockets) on the Commons, and the city was beautifully illuminated.” The paper noted that “Everything was conducted with the greatest order and decorum, and the face of joy and gladness was universal.” That same year, fireworks also lit up the sky in Boston, where they were exhibited by Col. Thomas Crafts over the common. By 1783 a large variety of fireworks were available to the public. In 1784 one merchant offered a range of pyrotechnics that included “rockets, serpents, wheels, table rockets, cherry trees, fountains, and sun flowers.”

I'm back from vacation. It suck having to wake up at 5:30 again.

I drove across the country with my daughter and my mom. Stopped for a night in Vegas to visit a friend and get f**ked up. Went to San Diego, Hollywood, the beach in Carlsbad, and my mom and dad's pool everyday. Flew home and went to the Sox game the next day to watch them beat Texas 19-2. Partied all day and night on the 4th. Recovered on the 5th and 6th (it was 106 degrees out, I wasn't leaving the AC anyway). Went to a couple of BBQ's over the weekend and now I'm back at work.

Newsroom is a little full of itself, and has weird pie-in-the-sky idealism about the world we live in and how we consume information. Also I'm pretty sure Sorkin wrote this 20 years ago, because after only 2 episodes (that I've seen) there are SO many ridiculous references/situations that I laugh out loud. It makes it worse since these situations or things said have actual current events as a story line. I'm surprised there hasn't been a frantic "I need to get to a pay phone to break this story!!!" scene. The pilot was pretty decent. The second episode was awful TV. Terrible. (The acting took a turn for the worse too, ugh) I'm already in semi-hate watch mode. I've heard through a couple of reviews that it picks back up, but idk?

Since it's apparently Hater-Monday (see above paragraph, lol), this article doesn't just point and laugh at baseball's All-Star clown shoes, he's gives them a spit shine. Wow.

From what I gather, you're spot on.  The pilot was great, the second ep was terrible, but it wins most of the audience back with the third ep.  I literally haven't watched anything non-sports related in weeks so I honestly don't even know if there is something better I should watch.

Yeah we're in a TV dead zone. I think Breaking Bad premieres this weekend, but I never really watched past first 5 or 6. I loved it and never went back. We all have shows like that where I can't figure out why i stopped watching them. Sunday Night Football maybe? Weird.

Morning gorgeus!

A quick hello to tell you all that you are always in my mind and heart, not much time to be here lately but as soon as I can, I'll try to catch up. Just came back from my kick boxing class, it was sooo cool, girls, you have to try it, you move every muscle of your body, and considering I didn't crawl as a baby ( now I know where my lack of coordination comes from), I'm improving every day, so I am happy for that. I was about to nag and complain about an stupid doctor that stressed me a lot on saturday, but I'm so relaxed that I'll let it go now.
Well, I wish you all a wonderful day wherever you are.

See you later. Hugs and kissesheart

Newsroom....anyone?
I like Newsroom, and I get why Marcus doesn't like it.  The last episode had a ton of Tea Party bashing, so I enjoyed it.

True Blood is effing TERRIBLE!!!!

Been a while since I've posted, been busy at work since I f##ked up my back.  I'm hoping that the Blazers get Hibbert, that means they'll match Batum's offer from Minny.  I just read that Batum was hearing anti-black AND anti-French slander from the Minny fans on his twitter account.  I'm not sure it's true though, I've done a little looking and haven't seen anything.  Since I refuse to get a Twitter account I can't look at his.

I started watching The Wire on Saturday and am already hooked!  Although, it's hard not to laugh at Idris Elba (Stringer Bell) when he tries to cover up his English accent.  It never made sense to me why he kept his accent in Takers, a British thief in LA seemed out of place, now I know it's because he can't cover up his accent.  Not to get off on too much of a tangent, but Gerard Butler has probably the coolest accent ever, and he always covers it up.

Went and watched one of my boys' bands play on Saturday Night.  The lead singer is terrible, but being a Metal band they can cover him up pretty well.  The band is 'Gusher', I'd put their album pic on but I think it would violate the CoC.  It has to do with menstration....

Morning all!! Hope you all had a safe and Happy 4th :)

One more week, five more days of intense work, then I am off from the Liquor Store for a week.  Will work at the Golf course tho, especially now since the young girl whose parents own it sprained her ankle Saturday night and can't work now.  I'll find out soon how many shifts I take.

Was in the 80's here the past few days, and supposed to continue for a few more.  Wusses are all bitching about it.  I'm soaking up the sun.  Played golf yesterday and sucked, although I had a few good shots.

Have a great day all!!!

Kevin, totally forgot Tampa was a 6 hour drive... hmmm, I'll need to check my finances. :|

Um, I'm supposed to drink about 5 bottles of water a day. It's 1:21 and I'm only halfway through this bottle from 10am. I don't think I can do this 4 more times. Water is gross and makes me stomach hurt. Ew.

How many ounces does your 5 bottles equal?  I love water.  Do you like green tea?  Because if you do, you could drink that and get the same effect plus some.

Hi all...
busy as balls today, but hope to squeeze in time for a box office article

Newsroom is meh, but I will give it another shot.. I am still a huge fan of Sports Night and think Sorkin is the straight man's Quentin Tarantino

Watched Dark City last night.  Loved it.  Loved the premise, the acting was a little meh, but I recommend it.

The Rockies won a series this past weekend.. Break em up!!!!!
I expect everyone to root for little pony, Carlos Gonzalez, in the HR derby tonight

hopefully will have time for more later

Hmmm, my 17 year old is dating a 21 year old.  She asked last night about legalities.  Told her it isn't a legal

issue until it becomes one.  Oh, and she hates it here at my house, blah, blah blah.   The only good thing

about her behavior is that she waited this long to turn into a c*nt.    Counting my blessings, when I'm not

breathing in a paper bag.   Ugh.

True Blood must be a chick-flick type show, cuz most guys I know HATE it.  The acting and story line is sooooooo bad, Sookie is by far the WORST actress I've ever seen and the only saving grace of the show is that from time to time it's pretty much soft-core porn.  But I'm glad that you like it so..... lol, yeah... and it's supposed to be 80, I was aiming high. I'm gonna chug 2 more bottles before this day is done and that's all I can give. I'm also gonna have to use that big thermos thing they gave me when I had my kid. I filled that with ice and water, and lived off it for 2 whole weeks, so I know it's in me somewhere, but good grief, this is awful.

So I'm starting to think about the move - even though we still have no report date and have no idea when we're going to leave, I've found myself thinking about certain things like - what will we keep out when the movers come and pack us up, to take on our road trip? Should I buy (insert random food item here) or will I just have to get rid of it before the move? Should I pack up my books and some breakables myself now just to get things started so it takes the movers less time? Stuff like that.

Ashlie's mention of water reminded me that I should probably fill my bottle for the first time today and I went to the cooler and talked to my money tree (shaddup), and it reminded me that I need to figure out what I want to do with that thing. At first I'd considered donating it or giving it to one of Kiernan's teachers or something - it's such a pretty little plant. But then the more I thought about it the sadder I got thinking about the fact that I can never keep a plant alive, and I've had this thing since Mother's Day, 2011. I don't want to leave it, but there's no way it's going to survive a month-long-ish move. I'm thinking I might be able to ship it to my mom express or first-class or something that gets it at least as far as western montana quickly and safely...but does anyone know of a way to even do that?

Here it is...

He closed the TB Hospital near me AFTER he already knew about the outbreak.  It is also in Miami/Dade.
There was a student from Haiti (post earthquake) that had it at Seminole Ridge High School in Palm Beach County,
a year or two ago.  A lot of the people with it, were staying in homeless shelters, thereby, coming in contact with
thousands of people.

Keep it Classy...

It's in the 80s today and it feels like the nicest day ever. Other than the death heat, enjoyed the weekend, particularly the two Wimbledon finals. IndyCar race wasn't bad until the last restart turned into a DERP fest.

I'm having off and on burning pain in my foot right above the heel. I have no idea why, but I assume it's part of my karmic payback for my impatience that will eventually leave me unable to walk without a cane and only at glacial pace.

All the hotels for my vacation/eating extravaganza/artery-clogging fest have been booked. Really looking forward to KC now, what with every baseball writer I follow on Twitter mentioning the BBQ they keep eating.

Since the fantasy league got mentioned, I will point out that I am currently the only person in the same orbit as Beans, and that's despite my top two picks (Tulo and Longoria) being out most of the year. (I voted against that trade BTW, too much in favor of Lobotomy, but it looks like it went through anyway. Oh well)

Archery
Badminton
Boxing
Cycling
Fencing
Team Handball
Gymnastics
Judo
Rowing

I'm hoping that team handball turns into a dodge ball situation like it did in my HS gym class. It is impossible to have 15 year olds NOT start head hunting the goalies (i had a black eye so bad, my Mom almost sued the school, lol) or just randomly drilling a guy on you own team square in the back, right between the shoulder blades and watch him go down like Willem Dafoe in Platoon. Good times, good times. I noticed Canada and Australia weren't options in the polls, probably for the best I guess. Speaking of which, when are dodge ball and red rover going added as Olympic sports? Needs to happen. Marco polo? Cross country hide n seek? 3 meter Canon ball competition? Ball room dancing is in for eff's sake!?!?! C'mon IOC, man up.

Good Evening, Everybodee!

I got a chance to look through my photos from Saturday night out on the barge.

And the rocket's red glare...

The bombs bursting in air....

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
