(Edited by Nick__)
  • I, like Lainey, am much better at picking my battles
  • I am much better at pleasing the females, physically, than I was in when I was a teen and my post teen years. - Hell, son, if you haven't been doing what you can to get better at what you enjoy, you are wasting your time! wink
  • I am more handy around the house and yard than I was when I was much younger
  • I am, much more, forgiving than I was when I was younger
  • Cant forget the cooking either...much better and more variety of things that I can make.

If you don't get better at pleasing women with age, I have news for you....you're gay.

- I'm better at taking care of my responsibilities before enjoying the fun things in life.
- I don't "gossip" nearly as much.  In fact, it's pretty much non existent.  Anything I say behind your back....I'll say to your face (and do 99% of the time).
- I'm a MUCH better driver.
- I'm much improved at playing golf.
- My cooking/BBQing skills are night and day different.

Oh my cooking has definitely improved as well. I vividly remember a dinner about 11 years ago that I made for my family when we had a friend visiting from out of town - pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, and steamed veggies. The veggies were overcooked (gross), the pork chops were like hockey pucks, the gravy had more lumps than the mashed potatoes, and the mashed potatoes were a weird consistency. In my defense, my mashed potatoes were usually good, something weird happened there...and I'd called my mom for the baking instructions on the pork chops and did them exactly as she said. What a disaster. And of course it had to happen when we had company. Not that my food was ever as good back then as it is now, but it certainly wasn't the catastrophe that was! Needless to say, the next time our friend visited, he offered to cook

I remember my first Pot Roast per my grandmothers instructions. OMG!!! If I had hit ya with it , it would have killed you...It was that bad....But then again my grandmom wasn't the best of cooks. I learned a lot from my mother in law and then of course Food Network. wink

heart Food Network

My mom is a fantastic cook, but she's one of those that doesn't pay attention to the specifics (as am I now, with my own recipes) so she can never give a good recipe or timing in an oven, etc. Just when it looks/smells good, and her recipes are all "a dash of..." or "some of...." or "about (this many/much)....." I'm getting just as bad. My husband's grandparents stayed with us for a week last year and his grandma wanted the recipes for 3 or 4 of the things I made while they were here. It was interesting trying to explain how much of something I put in, how long to cook it, etc.

Your right, I call it educated cooking because  we know how much to add and we can see and smell to know when it's done. That's a talent that good cooks have. When my daughter calls for how to cook something she gets frustrated with me for asking simple questions like what's the weight and what spices do you have.. Maybe someday all my girls will be able to cook but until then their husbands do the cooking..lol

I'm still pretty much the same smart a$$ed, sarcastic $h*t that I used to be, but I make a lot more money now.  Does that count?
#13 | 314 days ago

Most of the time now, I think before I speak.  I still will likely say what my first thought was, but definitely it isn't as blunt as back in the day.

Absolutely.  It just means you're better at your job or swindling people.  Win/win either way IYAM.

Honestly, I haven't changed much. I never was an arguer, I'll talk for just a few minutes, but at some point, I'm ready to fight.  I'm not as quick to be in those situations since I had a kid. I mean, I can't really be going to jail right now, sooo I guess I'm better at keeping myself out of situations that would cause me to want to choke a bitch. Besides that, it's all the same.

  • I learned how to take critisism a lot better.  I'm able to learn from it instead of getting pissed about it and giving up.
  • I've pretty much perfected cooking on the grill, I can cook pizza's an $h!t on it now
  • Less of a pushover than I used to be at work.  I'm not a "It's my way or the highway" type of guy, but if my way is the right way that's how $h!t will get done or that dude/chick will be gone.
  • I've learned to manipulate things from the outside looking in instead of getting in the middle and directing traffic
  • I can ALMOST play the Dijuridoo....
