Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Morning.

Kevin, I plan on living until Ryan is at least 27, so you'll have me! This is assuming you will consider us friends (if and when) we meet, and not just some girl you mistreat on the internet (though I think you've been my friend since... the village).... and your criteria of friendship. I'm pretty sure I'm pretty awesome, so that shouldn't be a problem. I have high expectations. Cawl me.

I had more random mess to say but now I don't want to talk about it. Have good days.

Ha... I'll take (a) fifth anytime.

Well, as everyone has read a ton of times, I am posting taxes after my regular job each day and blah, blah, blah... but I have made a couple of buds the last two nights out. First was this dude on Tuesday night...
... two things I noticed about him. One, his sack was bigger than my  head. Second, that is the same look I get from folks when they see me coming to post their property.

The other has convinced me that there may just be something to the reincarnation thing...
...  ... hmmm.

I am holding up physically and catching up financially, mentally... meh...

Band plays in the mountains Saturday, I am hoping for good money and great food. I like my chances.
... pic from July 4th gig, that is my amp and guitar in the left corner of the porch with all that iced down beer in my face for four hours.  :-l  It was a pretty cool gig. yes

Anywho, I am out and hope all is great your way.

Best toast ever! "Here's to Huevo and Pat, I may be chubby. But those two f**kers are fat!"Jesus Ortega

So a little back story on the toast. My friend Pat(who died in 2004) and I were sitting at our usual spots at the bar drinking, my friend Jesus was across the room playing Golden Tee. So Pat and I tell the bartender to pour a round of shots and to pause the jukebox. We raise our glasses and say "Here's to Jesus," we leave a long pause, Jesus smiles big and relishes being the center of attention. As Jesus takes his shot Pat and I say "s**king our d!cks!" Pat and I knew this would not go unpunished, and about thirty minutes later the bartender killed the jukebox and placed shots in front of Pat and I. The toast stated at the begining of this post was Jesus' response.

I can still see Jesus, standing in the salad station at Outback. Yelling "White America, I could be one of your kids!" Then laughing that Chuy laugh his friends and family all know too well. I will miss you my friend, you picked me up when Pat died. I guess this time, I have to pick myself up!

"White America"

America, hahaha, we love you, how many people are proud to be citizens of this beautiful
Country of ours, the stripes and the stars for the rights that men have died for to protect,
The women and men who have broke their neck's for the freedom of speech the United States
Government has sworn to uphold, or
(Yo', I want everybody to listen to the words of this song) so we're told...

I never would've dreamed in a million years I'd see,
So many motherf**kin' people who feel like me, who share the same views
And the same exact beliefs, it's like a f**kin' army marchin' in back of me, so many lives I
Touch, so much anger aimed, in no particular direction, just sprays and sprays, and straight
Through your radio waves it plays and plays, 'till it stays stuck in your head for days and
Days, who would of thought, standing in this mirror bleachin' my hair, with some peroxide,
Reaching for a t-shirt to wear, that I would catapult to the forefront of rap like this, how
Could I predict my words would have an impact like this, I must've struck a chord, with somebody
Up in the office, cause congress keeps telling me I ain't causin' nuthin' but problems, and now
They're sayin' I'm in trouble with the government, I'm lovin' it, I shoveled sh!t all my life,
And now I'm dumping it on...

[Chorus]
White America, I could be one of your kids, white America, little Eric looks just like this,
White America, Erica loves my sh!t, I go to TRL, look how many hugs I get, white America, I
Could be one of your kids, white America, little Eric looks just like this, white America, Erica
Loves my sh!t, I go to TRL, look how many hugs I get...

Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself, if they were brown, Shady lose, Shady
Sits on the shelf, but Shady's cute, Shady knew, Shady's dimple's would help, make ladies swoon
Baby, {ooh baby}, look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half, I
Ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that, but I could rap, so f**k school,
I'm too cool to go back, gimme the mic, show me where the f**kin' studio's at, when I was
Underground, no one gave a f**k I was white, no labels wanted to sign me, almost gave up, I was
Like, f**k it, until I met Dre, the only one to look past, gave me a chance, and I lit a fire up
Under his a$$, helped him get back to the top, every fan black that I got, was probably his in
Exchange for every white fan that he's got, like damn, we just swapped, sittin' back lookin' at
Sh!t, wow, I'm like my skin is it starting to work to my benefit now, it's...

[Chorus]

See the problem is, I speak to suburban kids, who otherwise would of never knew these words
Exist, whose mom's probably would of never gave two squirts of piss, 'till I created so much
Motherf**kin' turbulence, straight out the tube, right into your living room I came, and kids
Flipped when they knew I was produced by Dre, that's all it took, and they were instantly hooked
Right in, and they connected with me too because I looked like them, that's why they put my
Lyrics up under this microscope, searchin' with a fine tooth comb, its like this rope, waitin'
To choke, tightening around my throat, watching me while I write this, like I don't like this,
Nope, all I hear is, lyrics, lyrics, constant controversy, sponsors working 'round the clock, to
Try to stop my concerts early, surely hip-hop was never a problem in Harlem, only in Boston,
After it bothered the fathers of daughters starting to blossom, so now I'm catchin' the flack
From these activists when they raggin', actin' like I'm the first rapper to smack a b!tch, or
Say fa**ot, sh!t, just look at me like I'm your closest pal, the posterchild, the motherf**kin'
Spokesman now for...

[Chorus]

So to the parents of America, I am the derringer aimed at little Erica, to attack her
Character, the ringleader of this circus of worthless pawns, sent to lead the march right up to
The steps of congress, and piss on the lawns of the White House, to burn the casket and replace
It with a parental advisory sticker, to spit liquor in the faces of in this democracy of
Hypocrisy, f**k you Ms. Cheney, f**k you Tipper Gore, f**k you with the freest of speech this
Divided states of embarrassment will allow me to have, f**k you, [vocal melody],
He, hahaha, I'm just playin' America, you know I love you...

Holla @ ya Swol when you see him in the streets!

Played tennis last night and beat my buddy 6-0, 6-0.  I'm not that good, but he was talking junk before the match.  He was also wearing capri bball shorts because they were apparently made for someone Shaq's height.  He didn't like my jokes.

If Brittney Griner is a woman, then I'm the Pope.  There is a reason it won't play in the Olympics - it's because it would get tested and thus prove "she" is a he.

Hot damn Hayden was looking good last night!

Who won best team?  I had some sh*t to take care of and missed it.

I don't know whether to feel bad for the Great One or shake his hand.  I love his daughter.

Have a great day and remember, football season is less than 50 days away!

Morning.

The freak'n Heat won Best Team................which is a crock only until you remember that these are ESPN's awards.....then it all makes sense.....no way they would allow a sport they rarely cover to win two awards during the broadcast.

JD--I'm with you on the Baylor bball player. I felt guilty thinking about it though. lol As for little miss wayne gretzky..........sigh. She looks better in person. Her onslaught of never-ending pics of herself have "aged" her, but she is supposedly "dating" Jarret Stoll so she gets points for that. You had Hayden, I give you Matt Kemp.

Enjoy your day. Peace.

P.S. The Los Angeles Kings' official twitter is still the best in all sports. Their ESPY tweets were all kinds of fANtastic!

I'd feel bad about it if it carried itself in a more appropriate manner.  It's mannerisms, male-like tendencies, etc just rub me the wrong way.  Plus, I was rooting for my girl Maria Sharapova.

By the way, I thought it was cool your boy Dustin Brown came out with my boy Justin Tuck to mention their respective teams for Best Team.

I'm tired, sore, and think I pulled my oblique last night

Watching TV with the sound off is always a fun proposition.  For instance, I would like to know which Wayans brother that is that MCs America's Got Talent.  Secondly, I saw a highlight of Tim Tebow accepting an ESPY.  I have no idea what it was for, but if I were to assume, I'm guessing it had something to do with Jesus.  Maybe the ESPY for thanking Jesus.  I don't really know or care for that matter what they give those out for.  It has about the same relevance to me as the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

In reference to JD's point.  I'm giving Paulina Gretzky 3 months before she's in rehab or pregnant.  I'm rooting for both

Hola amigos y amigas!

So yesterday work was so dead I decided to start watching Boardwalk Empire, on HBOgo. Saw almost the whole first episode, and last night I stayed up late because I finished watching episode 1 and I also watched 2 and 3. Its a great show. Why didn't anyone ever tell me that before? LOL! I got in early today and just started episode 4.

I have nothing much else really, we may get some thunderstorms today, I am looking forward to that. Its funny the only time I really like rain is when we have summer storms.

I hope everyone has a wonderfully amazing day, I'll be watching that show and maybe at some point taking a nap.

P.S. I am thinking about buying Wiggy some Old Spice, the perfume she wears doesn't smell right on her because I think she is a man and perfume doesn't mix well with man scent.

The Good: Riggle's monologue. Really underrated. (2 Riggles 1 cup, BOOM! The skits were C's at best tho.) I agree with Becky about the Kings twitter feed, but would also like to point out that Kings Nation is in full Tea Party mode right now, lmao! It's fun. Per Becky, who seems to be delighted about it, "We have haters now!"

The Bad: We live in a HateWatch world now and that determines popularity and our collective narrative. See: LeBron & the Heat, Tebow, Lin to a certain extent, *The Killing, Sheen, etc. Also ESPN does a solid job of covering the 40 years post Title IX, then kinda brushes over it by not recognizing Wambach's extra time header. Granted it occurred during a sports 'dead zone,' but it moved the meter for even the most misogynist sports fan. It was a WHOA! moment, that just happened to involve women in a sport nobody cares about. That was the whole point of Title IX right?

The Ugly: Daniel Tosh's "RapeGate." Look I was not down, at all, with Carolla's comments during an interview in NYMag, but in a comedy club anything goes. Anything. If you get offended or whatever, just don't laugh. Leave even. That's the worst for the comedian. That's the loudest statement you can make. Do not however go back at the person on stage or make a scene. You will just stoke the flames. You cannot win. Not only do they always have one ready, most comedians have 16 in the clip and one in the hole, and they're ready to make some bodies turn cold. As Patton Oswalt/ Jenny Johnson/ Chris Rock/ Ricky Gervais point out - it's time and place along with material / jokes - NOT the subject. Righteous indignation in this particular setting is assi9 and really misguided. Pure and simple. I'm completely #TeamTosh on this one, even though the joke wasn't particularilly funny. We need a campaign to "Stop High Horsery Now." Maybe a telethon or something.

It's time, PSU fans....the fact that some of them are still defending JoePedo and the rest of the higher ups is disgusting.  I say the NCAA should dole out the death penalty.  I'm no fan of SC, but the fact they got LOIC and PSU may not face the same is laughable.  I hope the B1G kicks them out too.  I know a badass school in Kalamazoo that would love to join.

I had some issues with the article, but I finally got it to publish on Best of the Web by changing the first picture...go figure.  There are still no games today, and before the second half of the season starts, it's time to grade the teams.  Check out a QTWIB special edition, MLB report cards.

What's Crack-a-Lackin'?!

I had to help my mom move last night, AFTER work and it just happened to be the hottest day of the year so far.  Needless to say I'm a sore unit today.  My one saving grace is that I make my own schedule, so I slept in.

I'm envisioning Stoney watching TV with no sound being nearly identical to 'Mystery Science Theater 3000'.

In local news, the Country Fair is this weekend.  It's basically a craft fair that's hosted in the woods amungst some kick-ass tree forts instead of you're local HS gym.  And its ran by a bunch of hippies.  It's something that should be experienced once, it's always nice to watch women walking around topless, possibly with painted breasts.  Having said that, it's ran by hippies so it's dirty and smelly and it costs upwards of $20 for tickets.  And if you've seen one craft fair, you've pretty much seen them all.

Can't wait for football!!  Sept 1st is when the Ducks open up the 2012 season....

Remember the Ghetto Golden Rule, 'Do unto others... and then run like a mutha!!!'

Couldn't agree more. The NCAA's institutional hypocrisy is infuriating. It's mind numbing. They should get the effing death penalty.

The person recording this is close, and it is loud.  (I have the radio playing softly on my computer and it overpowers it easily at the same volume level.)

Did she not know who she was paying money to go see? I have zero problem with trying to base a joke around some of the most excruciating disgusting things imaginable.  Jerry Sandusky anyone? I'm with Marcus in that I'm tired of the restrictions of speech because there is always going to be some 3rd party coming out and complaining.  I understand why he Tosh apologized, to appease Comedy Central and his sponsors, but for once, I want somebody to stand behind what they say and not bow down to the fake outrage.  Embrace it, own it, love it, put ya name on it

I have mixed feelings about PSU and Sandusky.  Pat wrote an artilce today where he was calling for the complete dismantling of PSU athletics and vacating wins, basically eradicating PSU football from the history books.  That is definately going too far.  The only person that would really hurt is JoePa, and he's dead.

Everyone at PSU that had ANYTHING to do with the cover up is gone, so is it really worth punishing the fans?  In some respects it would be like punishing USC for OJ Simpson killing his wife or the NFL punishing the Falcons for Michael Vick killing dogs.  I'm not trying to minimalize what Sandusky's crimes are, they are the most heinous crimes in my opinion, but is it worth punishing EVERYBODY at PSU?  I don't know.

Like I said, I have mixed feelings about it.  It's definately something that is much bigger than football and belongs in a criminal court, but not necessarilly in a NCAA court.

What about the fans of other schools that were punished because of cheating that occurred at the top?  Were the transgressions at the top worth punishing them?  Of course not, but that's what happens when LOIC is cited.  And in this case, we're talking about little boys being raped, the coaches and administration knowing about it, and covering it up for the sake of the football team.  I understand what you are saying, but go read the free PSU boards on Rivals, Scout, etc.  The fans are still defending JoePedo, Sandusky, etc.  It's sickening stuff, but I'm not going to bring it over here.

In some respects it would be like punishing USC for OJ Simpson killing his wife or the NFL punishing the Falcons for Michael Vick killing dogs.

Not at all.  Those things happened well after they left their respective schools.  How long are you going to hold a university accountable for former players/students actions?

I'm not trying to minimalize what Sandusky's crimes are, they are the most heinous crimes in my opinion, but is it worth punishing EVERYBODY at PSU?

Yes.  What is the alternative...letting the school off scott free for the sake of the innocent fans?  What happened in Happy Valley, for 2+ decades, is some of the most sickening stuff in not only sports history, American history IMO.  It is the definition of LOIC.

Guinness was an Option?  I had to choose...

Real quick before I go catch my flight, concerning PSU:

Is this an athletic thing or an administration thing?  I understand that it happened during football/charity camps, but is that covered by the NCAA?  I guess what I'm saying is, is that I don't view this as an athletic thing, thus the NCAA shouldn't have any say what happens to the program.  This is a civil/administration thing.  Or I could be wrong.  It's happened once or twice before.

Don't miss me.  Maybe some drunk texts from the CDT.

Everyone at PSU that had ANYTHING to do with the cover up is gone, so is it really worth punishing the fans?

I agree with Husker Dave (post #30), this is an administration and law enforcement thing, not an NCAA thing.  As retarded as it sounds, raping young boys in a school shower is NOT against NCAA violations. After reading the definition of LOIC, nothing in that definition has anything to do with the school adminstration commiting criminal acts or covering up criminal acts.  Pedophilia is radically different than recruiting violations and should be handled differently.

I don't think the school is getting of 'Scott Free' at all.  The school will always be "The Place where a bunch of boys got raped."  They'll forever lose recruits, alums are going to be forever embarrased about where they went to school, they'll lose funding sources.  Basically, PSU well NEVER even be a B1G power again, let alone relevant in college football.

Penn State is going to be brought to it's knees by lawsuits, lost revenue from football, and lost enrollment.  The NCAA is the most grab-a$$-tically ran organization in the country, and if they were anywhere near being on top of their $h!t things like this and Bernie Fine, or the University of Miami's recruiting violations, or Johnson-Koulianous' drug dealing at Iowa, or the fiasco at Texas Tech between Craig James and Mike Leach, or the Ohio State memorabila sales, or Rick Neuhisel and the total $h!t-show at Colorado AND Washington would have never happened.  Letting them get their two cents in after the fact is just rubbing salt in the wound.

Having said all that, your opinion isn't wrong.  I just don't agree with it.

I think we all know that NCAA Football policy and punishment is full of double standards.  its always tough when the present and future regimes have to pay for the sins of the past but its how the NCAA works. How can the Penn St Football Program go with out being punished as i think most can agree it was a  LOIC violation in the worst of ways and i don't buy oh its a criminal thing not an NCAA thing , its a Moral thing and the league has responsibility to all fans and employees.. A punishment has to be sent down and in my opinion a harsh one !

Defending anyone who is involved in this kind of crime is despicable !  Wanna have pride for your school your football team what ever then admit what was done and how heinous the acts were and agree that measures need to be taken so it never happens again at your or any other university (or elsewhere) and those involved had to be punished. Then u can root for your school and team to recover and move on.

Beautifully stated.  Whether we like it or not, this is how the NCAA has and will continue to operate.  There is no uniform policy in place, which is why I believe there needs to be a precedent set.

Absolutely it's sad.  I had a ton of respect for JoePa prior to this story breaking.  He, to me, was what college football is all about.  The good he did in his player's lives for seemingly forever, the games he won (most all-time), all the accolades, etc are all forgotten now because he took up for his pedo friend.  It didn't have to end this way.  I'm sad things went down the way they did, but I'm not willing to give him a pass.  Have you read the Freeh report?  It's sickening.  JoePa knew of Sandusky's behavior as far back as 1998...and he only covered it up for the sake of the football program.

Good day, bitches.

I'm finally home before nightfall, so I can post on the Q without having to worry about all the other s**t I'm not doing because of it.  Cool.

So the new girl at work is getting worse and worse.  She shows up late, tries to leave early (when her s**t isn't even done yet), and now insists on speaking nothing but Spanish to every dog with a Hispanic owner.  OK, um, I get it ... to an extent.  Like if the owner says commands at home in Spanish (although really, what commands do you really need as a dog groomer ... "no", and that's kinda the same in both languages ... but it IS kinda funny that her accent comes out when she says it to dogs with Hispanic owners ).  But really, the dog doesn't speak Spanish ... or English, for that matter.  He's not home watching Telemundo.  Having a full-scale conversation with the dog in Spanish is not helping matters, and we're not impressed.

And by the by, heifer, I understand everything you're saying.  You don't have to follow up EVERY word you say with the English translation.  (In advance, I don't know how to type in fancy not-English, so the accents, etc. will be missing.  Deal.)  i.e. "When I get here manana ... Well bitch, when you get here manana, I'm going to call you a dirty c**trag.  THAT means you're an a**hole and nobody likes you, thanks.

On a lighter, but still work-related, note ... our dizzy bather, Crystal, made me giggle today.  I asked her if she knew where another groomer was at one point.  She said she didn't, but asked if I'd like her to find her for me.  I said yes, and off she went.  About 10 minutes later, her crazy ass comes back and says, "I found her.  Heehee, hooha, hee. I think that pedophiliia running "rampant on the campus of PSU" is a huge over-reaction.  You make it sound like they shipped in young boys to the Football showers and let the entire team run a train on them.  It was the act of ONE man that was covered up by a FEW highly placed men.

I just have a problem with basically rewarding the NCAA for, lack of a better term, getting caught with their pants down.... AGAIN!!!  If any precedent needs to be set from this, it's that the NCAA needs to get it's head out of its a$$ and be PROACTIVE in matters like this instead of RETROACTIVE and over-reacting just so they can make themselves look better.

And no matter how YOU slice it, LOIC has to do with violations of NCAA rules and bylaws which DO NOT include pedophilia, prostitution, armed robbery, murder, bigomy,.... pretty much any and every felonious activity, which is what Law Enforcement agencies are for.

Instead of punishing innocents unnecessarily because of a retroactive, knee-jerk, over-reaction that in the long run will do absolutely nothing for the greater good, why don't people focus on how to PREVENT this type of $h!t from happening ever again?  Why don't people question why this was leaked the very week AFTER JoePa became the all-time winningest coach?  If the NCAA was worth a $h!t they would have done something about this YEARS ago, because obviously SOMEONE knew about it, otherwise it would still be covered up!!  Why is it sooo important for them to step in now?  What good can they actually do now that Sandusky will be in prison for the rest of his life, all the administration involved in the cover-up have been fired and face criminal charges, and JoePa is dead?  What good would come from giving PSU the 'Death Penalty'?  At what point does PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY come into effect?

Real shame guy gave his life to the game he loved , his players, and his University.  And some say oh well he got paid to do it , its a job, but for him it was much more then that and he could of did 1/4 of what he did and still gotten paid and made a good living doing it. Good news: I went to my regular doctor to talk about my diet and exercise regiment, given my "borderline cholesterol," according to my cardiologist. Regular doc ordered blood work, and my cholesterol is normal, although I could see given my past why it would be called borderline. I'll still mostly stick to the diet, but it makes me feel a little less guilty about my upcoming food trip.

I may write about this on the blog, and I may not (mostly because if I get even one word wrong I'll be relentlessly attacked), but let me make this official here: I renounce all fandom to Penn State University.

On a happier note, here's the daily link to the Olympics polls. Last night's addition:

Canoeing
Diving (hey, this one's at least on TV a lot)
Field Hockey
Water Polo

Only 6 sports left, plus the big all-encompassing poll. Note for the hoopheads: The basketball poll is coming. I'm still trying to get the full rosters for the major teams.

Did I just see that Blake Griffin blew his knee out in practice?

And to answer you RE: Griffin, I just heard he injured the knee, which is probably enough to keep him off the team, to be replaced by Anthony Davis. I mostly meant getting official non-US rosters, but yeah, stuff like that doesn't help either.

Only if you have a profit three years in a 5 year period, and in that case, deductions would only be allowed to the extent of revenues. No losses allowed.

Those people who leaked that Freeh report are a bunch of cowards.  They waited until after he died to make this all public, until he wasn't here to defend himself.  My only problem is that these people were scared of JoePa, they wouldn't dare say anything about him while he was alive, bunch of babies.  It's the same way he was fired, in a cowardly manner because they didn't have the fortitude to tell him to his face.

THAT means tomorrow..."

   ...
   ... ...
Um, Crystal ... could you tell her to come HERE?
"Oh, ok."

(Then find Waldo next.  I work with idiots, I really do.)
Man...she is good when she rants!!

I'm saddened most by this story because the legacy in which JoePa spent nearly his entire life creating is gone in the blink of an eye because he wanted to protect his friend.  I get that we all want to be good friends, but sometimes you need to cut the cord.  Sandusky was a pedophile and JoePa was his enabler because even after he was made aware of the criminal activity INSIDE the football showers/offices, he turned a blind eye.  Not only that, the DA that was investigating the case goes missing right around the time people started digging?  Call me crazy, but I don't think that was a coincidence.  And yes, I've read about the stories in which the same DA was investigating the Russian Mafia.  There have long been rumors about JoePa being "connected," and although I'm not ready to declare that he put a hit out, nothing about this case would shock me at this point.

I think that pedophiliia running "rampant on the campus of PSU" is a huge over-reaction.  You make it sound like they shipped in young boys to the Football showers and let the entire team run a train on them.  It was the act of ONE man that was covered up by a FEW highly placed men.

Perhaps it was a slight overreaction, but when the coaches and administration allow illegal activity to go on for 13+ years (on campus) and do nothing about it, I'm not going to sit back and say only those men should be punished.  JoePa became too big a figure.  Not only on the PSU campus, but statewide.  He could do no wrong in the eyes of many and there are STILL people defending his actions.

As I alluded to earlier, the NCAA never envisioned a scenario in which little boys were being raped inside the locker room.  They never thought one of the most well known figures in CFB history would be involved in the cover up.  And they certainly never thought it would be happening for well over a decade.  I get what you're saying about the NCAA and the double standards they lay out, but I don't believe they have a choice at this point.  What occurred in Happy Valley was LOIC.  I'm not sure how you can argue otherwise when rapes were happening inside football facilities.

What do you propose as a punishment for PSU?

Those people who leaked that Freeh report are a bunch of cowards.  They waited until after he died to make this all public, until he wasn't here to defend himself.  My only problem is that these people were scared of JoePa, they wouldn't dare say anything about him while he was alive, bunch of babies.  It's the same way he was fired, in a cowardly manner because they didn't have the fortitude to tell him to his face.

Exactly.  JoePa became too big and much too powerful for his own good.  With power comes responsibility, and JoePa failed to do the right thing.  Not once, not twice......way too many times.  How many lives were ruined?  He was involved in the cover up for over 13 years.  Hell, Paterno was allowing Sandusky to have little boys on campus back in 2009, eleven years after he was made aware.  I agree there are a bunch of cowards involved, but it doesn't change what happened.

I'll end by saying this, Kaleb.  What if one of the victims was your son?  Think about that for a second.

Kramer...I respect your thoughts on this...but Paterno was aware of this CRIME, and he held it back from authorities as did Spainer and the other cowards of PSU Higher Authority...

The folks that fired him - they tried to save his dignity - but to have knowledge of these acts and not do anything...THAT was coward

I do understand where your POV comes from. I guess what I really mean by all of my ranting is that the NCAA punishing PSU doesn't make the situation any better. Everybody involved in the cover up is facing some pretty serious criminal charges, Sandusy will die in prison, Penn State will surely be hit with a ton of large sum lawsuits that will probably ALL get paid out, and you can argue that it killed Paterno. Hitting the school with a bunch of athletic penalties is adding insult to injury. As far as if it was one of my kids, I would set my sights on Sandusky Dexter Morgan style. I would have blown every whistle I could. Having said that, Sandusky prayed on kids without a good family structure at home. Kid's whose parents didn't really care about them so that's kind of irrelevant.

Bottom line dude, what happened at PSU was awful. There are no two ways about that. I completely understand if PSU gets hit with a ton of NCAA sanctions, I just don't think that it will make the situation any better. I don't think that the university as a whole is responsible. Living in the same town as the U of Oregon, I probably 'know' about some things that the players are involved with that they shouldn't be, so I understand why the NCAA could come down hard on the Ducks. Pretty much everybody in town knows about some stuff regardless if they're affiliated with the school or not. But driving around in cars that aren't yours and smoking some hippie lettuce is waaaay different than raping young boys. The biggest difference most pertenant to this discussion is that you don't go around town bragging about doing something like pedophilia. That's why I don't see a point in punishing the entire university.
