This is my Hubby after his 1st Official call - He joined the Noel Vounteer Fire Dept. about the 1st of July.He worked on their trucks when they were down since last year.They had gaven him an application but all it had done was sit on his desk here at home.He finally went & filled one out right at the station.We had a fire about 1200 yards from our house the 5th of July.We were headed home from shopping & had the NFD water tanker in front of us & the Fire engine behind us.Some fool decided to mow hay-hit a rock & caused a 3 acre fire,we came home & Ted hurried over there on the ATV.He kept them supplied with water & directed the other fire trucks to the scene.They got that out & 3 more days later.Diffent field -closer to us same asshole-same thing -only this time 20 acres burnt-we saw & smelt the smoke so strong.We thought Gramma & Pa Blair had a fire close -the smoke was so heavy & we called them-there was no answer so Marica ran up there while I called 911 - they were there battling it - it took 2 more different fire deptments to help them -I called Ted & told him-he saw they left but he didn't know it was near us.He said they would call him if they needed him-that time he wasn't an offical fire fighter.But when he got home he hurried down there & helped them out.Last Tuesday or Wed he aced the test ... How he told me was,"Have you ever made love to a fire fighter ...wanna .." A call came in Friday we were at Walmarts in Neosho & his beeper went off & his radio dispatched .Needless to say we split up the groceries & went into seperate lanes.And off we went.Ted put his emergency  flashers on & we went straight to the fire station.We put what would need in the fridge in the fridge & Ted bunkered up while we did that.We could see the black smoke rolling .A trailor house was on fire.he kids & me just went upstairs to the living quarters & watched tv.Marica even put in an app for jr cadet fire fighter !Took them 5 hours to get it out.This is hubby in his bunker suit after the fire ,he was tired & hungry they had lunch waiting for them.This is what I fixed for Ted the day after he past his test.Smoked,marinaded steaks & potatoes.
Yesterday I fixed blackberry cobbler for the fire station -didn't last long !!LOVE MY NEW FAMILY!!!
