Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Good Morning.

I'm tired of working.

There's all the talk about texting and driving, but I think the next time someone gets pulled over, they should blame it on the billboards. I mean you don't want me to be distracted? But, there are 17 billboards in a cluster within my eye line. "Sorry, officer, I was trying to decipher the billboard that's written in text speak that was telling me not to text and drive"... or "oh, I'm sorry, I was waiting on the flashing, digital board to change so I can see how much bananas are at Kroger this week".

Just my thoughts...

Ugh, just a sick morning here.  I've lived in Aurora my entire life (with the exception of my time out and about in college), and this movie theater is about 10 minutes from my house, right across the street from my Target.  I never understand why people always talk about saying prayers for the families of tragedies like this when your god allowed something like that to happen.  Seems counter intuitive, but whatever helps you get by I suppose.  It's just really freaking sad

On a brighter note, another hockey tournament this weekend starting tonight.. game tonight, two tomorrow, one sunday, baseball sunday afternoon.  Gonna be a busy one

Other than that, I don't really have much

First off, thoughts and prayers to the shooting victims in Aurora, CO.  WTF is the matter with people?  It saddens me to think about the evil people are capable of.

Cubs win AGAIN!  For those of you counting at home - that's 14 out of 19 for the Northsiders.  And we're about to acquire the Dodgers top pitching prospect (fingers crossed) for Dempster and Demps is probably going to sign with the Cubs after the season.   Boom!

I'm no Sox fans, but will you please shut the Tigers fans up.  They are annoying the ever living piss out of me with the "we're back" talk.  What happened to 120 wins?  LOL.

Tore up some fried blue gill and salmon last night, but my gut rot this morning has a honky wanting to lay on the couch.  #happyhourproblems

Heading to see a buddy in Michigan this weekend who just got a record deal (he's a DJ).  I'm not the biggest techno fan anymore, but I'm proud of said buddy.  Anyone have some glowsticks I can borrow?

Over and out....but remember, college football season is a mere 6 weeks away.

They are saying he will be traded before the game today. And possibly to the Cardinals. That effing sucks!   But yes Go Cubs. And good luck to you Ryan Dempster. smiley

Today of course is the beginning of one of the Holiest weekends for us Cubs fans.   Can't wait to get in my chair with my beer and my remote and watch the Cubs Cards game.smiley
I usually work the deck at the restaurant on Friday nights but, with the temp being 112 with heat index nobody really likes to sit outside. So thank you mother nature for making me lose about 100 bucks in a 4 hour shift, really thank you, you suck.

Ok everyone have a really great Friday and a great Friday night. smiley

Prayers and thoughts to the families of the victims of last nights senseless senseless shootings. May God have mercy on that mans soul because I hope he rots in hell.

Haven't heard any Cardinals rumors.  Either way, we'd basically be fleecing them so I'd be OK with it.  He's a second half rental player.  Demps LOVES Chicago and lives a few blocks from Wrigley.  He'll be back in Cubbie blue next year.  You can take that to the bizzank!

was outside the beach house chilling in the hot tub last night and my Girlfriend, her brother, and his wife and I were looking up into the sky and saw what appeared to be a UFO.  I am not some crazy person, was witnessed by 4 of us.  It was 3 orange orbs that appeared, faded out and reappeared in different places 3x.  Then they were gone.  And yes I had been drinking a lot, but again, not just myself had witnessed it (my girl's sis in law doesn't drink)///anyways, prob a US spy drone or sum thing.  Just thought I'd share it

My cuz is staying with me for a bit, while she's working down here again (HLN) and we spent the morning watching the shooting stuff. It's numbing. It's awful.

Here's my other new roomy for the next little while, Abigail. She's a total pick me up tho.

For some reason the traffic choppers and what not that fly by drive her insane, lol. Apart from that she's in constant chill mode.

Abby doesn't do much of anything, she's more like a cat. i just did the excited "wannagoforawalk!?!" "wannago-outside!?!?!?!" and she just sauntered over to my leg and rubbed against it, before she stretched out then kinda just layed down. she's into ice cubes though. So there's that.

Sure Ash.

Went and saw TDKR last night, so didn't hear about the shooting until I woke up this morning. Sad stuff. The girl who worked as a Colorado Avalanche correspondent got me - she was in Toronto last month and just left the mall before that shooting started, then became one of the 12 that died today.

The movie itself was pretty great. Sometimes had a little too much going on, and besides one little switch-a-roo, I was glad that I could follow along from my previous Batman knowledge. Bane was easy to understand outside of maybe one or two lines, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt had another solid performance, I really do love that dude.

Should I have a full stomach before going in?

A supply of Aquaphor? or other type of tatt balm?
Cancel plans that include any water activity?
Bring my teddy?

Hola amigos y amigas!

Went to a bbq last night for a friends wife's bday. He is hawaiian so he always has spam musabi, fried noodles, and some mussels. He didn't disappoint. It was delicious. Anyways he made a lot of different kind of shots, and I tried them all. I was a lil tipsy last night. I may have called and texted some people.
I'm glad that I did drink last night, because this morning when I came to work our H.R. Manager was here with the branch manager to announce to us that they are officially closing our branch. Their severance package sucks and I will need to find a new job sooner than I thought. On the bright side. NO MORE WIGGY!!
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and have a drink for me!

Depends on how long you will be there, being hungry won't change anything
never hurts, don't drink before going, alcohol thins the blood, makes you bleed more, also smoking thins your blood and makes you bleed more, so avoid doing that too
if you are a pansy, yes
I bought the smallest jar of Aquaphor on my last and it is still half full
yes, avoid submerging the tattoo for a while, till it heals(about a couple of weeks

Bleed? I'm going to bleed? The stuff I go through for this team I love so. (Besides.....close your eyes Nyce and any other squeamish others.......it's not like us ladies don't know how to bleed.)

I don't think I'm a pansy, but I've never gotten a tatt so I can't tell for sure.

I already have a little Aquaphor from when my nephew stayed with me. With your info, I'm assuming that is enough. Thanks. That stuff is expensive.

couple weeks? I can do that.

Thanks for the info.....it's helped.
Ms. Becky, when I got my dolphin, its on the inner ankle, I did not bleed much, more like when a cat scratches you, agree with Mr The Kevin about water and I also protected from the sun. Are you posting pics? Maybe you could do a video and that will keep your mind off the bit of pain!
Just remember, football is 80% mental and 40% physical...

Oh, so I bought beer again... idk why I keep doing this. It's like me and the flavored waters. Anyway, it was a variety pack, so why not? And people apparently had created their own, so I did the same. Last night I had Sam Adams summer something and an Irish Red. I drank them but they rate about a 6.7. Sam Adams has a bitter thing going on. ew. I may try the coast ipa tonight. No idea what ipa means.

And I'm gone.

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and have a drink for me!
frown  Not Cool at all.

In case you missed this, the Congress passed a 608 BILLION$ defense budget yesterday.
$2 Million is designated for mental health care.  This is in the face of 1 soldier a day this year, taking their own lives.
Something stinks.

*Puts on flame retardant clothing*

Today's shootings just made me angry at the senselessness of it all. The act itself of course is reprehensible, sick, and a special kind of evil. Luckily, justice will take care of that subhuman. That's all I have to say about that "person," since it's more than he deserves.

However, the reaction makes me almost as angry, because in the end, nothing will happen. Everyone wrings their hands for a few days when this happens (and it happens disturbingly often). People say things like "thoughts and prayers to the victims," which when you think about is a completely empty and meaningless phrase. There's precious little discussion on the state of mental health care in the country. There's precious little constructive discussion on gun control, mainly because of the stranglehold the NRA has on our politicians (and yes, this is an actual "both sides do it" situation). The result? Nothing. Ever. Happens. Nothing changed when a member of Congress was shot and a 9 year old was murdered, and nothing will change now after 71 were shot and 12 died for the simple crime of wanting to see a movie. How many more senseless deaths before something actually changes?
