Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I'm sure it will be unbearably quiet here, but...have great days anyway.

and some of you need wwf to me. tia.

Happy Monday,

Cubs are terrible.

Spent the weekend in Michigan and as we were coming home yesterday, seemingly every license plate was from Illinois.  It was odd.

Saw a ton of old friends at a record release party.  Great time!

This is so wrong, yet hilarious.  Those kids need a beating, though.

Good to see you (alive), Nick.  I know how you get on those Zima bingers.

Have a good day folks and remember, Sunday Funday can lead to hangovers.

except for an impromptu concert on friday, i grounded myself this weekend. the outcome was my bank account still being black, no tickets for expired stickers, no hangovers, no having to make apologies the next day, no fighting...basically no regrets! ....oh except that i didn't do anything. but it was really nice.

in the spirit of the british open, roomie and i played a round of tiger woods (with kinect) at augusta in our pajamas. i must say, the ****** usability of that game gets no stars from me. it took us nearly 5 hours to play all 18 holes and for me kick ass by 5 strokes (100% fir and no bogeys...suck it) and it surprisingly stayed fun the whole time.

i also found out that if you dark-side-of-the-moon physical graffiti over the unplugged florence + the hendersons concert, it's really good!

It's in Brookfield.  We do have a free zoo in the city - Lincoln Park Zoo.  Haven't been in awhile, though.

LOL @ the moat comment.  When I buy my first home, I'm going to make one.  Moats are the shizzle and need to come back.

I've played golf on kinect sports twice, it's fun but I can't play more than 3 holes before I get bored. I do enjoy the minigames though. Golf is pretty much boring... no matter what the platform. ugh.

I really should kinect tonight. It's been a while.

It's Monday, crazy busy, I'm tired and sore, and have to go play hockey right after work... I really need to start having a weekend to relax based on my weekends.  If that makes sense.

James Holmes appeared in court today.  I have a feeling between his comments to police when he was caught and his demeanor in the court room today, brotha is looking for an insanity defense.  It's gonna be hard to do when you follow the footsteps leading up to his shooting spree.

The Rockies are now just 3 games behind the Astros for worst record in the Majors and next year's #1 pick with no signs of improvement.  Management is still going with the patient route this year and the GM is disdaining fans for 2nd guessing his acquisition of Jeremy Guthrie.  Stay classy

There's probably more going on, but I don't have time to find out

Speaking of CFB, this was a thread title on another board - "Official PSU Draft Thread"

Well my project is finally finished, and now (thanks to some help from Scott), we have Olympics Sports Bars! How awesome is that? Where else can you bet fake money on the Olympics? cheeky (Don't answer that...let me have my moment)

Over the weekend I also made a new list on my iPod called "Backstage Pass" and added all of the bands and artists I've seen in concert. It's quite awesome, and extremely diverse. Even my husband is enjoying it. I just need a few more additions to make it perfect.

I finally got my 3DS, Tetris Axis and Super Mario 3D Land or something to that effect. SO much fun!

Add broken kitchen sink to the list.  FML     Going to see Batman with the boys.   And VP Biden is in the neighborhood. Cops everywhere.

This little nugget is one I wish I had written:

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/the_careerists_20120723//

"...armies of bureaucrats serve a corporate system that will quite literally kill us. They are as cold and disconnected as Mengele. They carry out minute tasks. They are docile. Compliant. They obey. They find their self-worth in the prestige and power of the corporation, in the status of their positions and in their career promotions. They assure themselves of their own goodness through their private acts as husbands, wives, mothers and fathers. They sit on school boards. They go to Rotary. They attend church. It is moral schizophrenia. They erect walls to create an isolated consciousness. They make the lethal goals of ExxonMobil or Goldman Sachs or Raytheon or insurance companies possible. They destroy the ecosystem, the economy and the body politic and turn workingmen and -women into impoverished serfs. They feel nothing. Metaphysical naiveté always ends in murder. It fragments the world. Little acts of kindness and charity mask the monstrous evil they abet. And the system rolls forward. The polar ice caps melt. The droughts rage over cropland. The drones deliver death from the sky. The state moves inexorably forward to place us in chains. The sick die. The poor starve. The prisons fill. And the careerist, plodding forward, does his or her job."

Afternoon Q'ers!  What a piece of s*&t day it's been for me!!!!

My car.....
2003 Mercedes E320 is finally starting to show its age.  It has 136,000 miles on it, and last week, it wouldn't start when I went to the Home Depot.  It cranked, but wouldn't turn over.  I waited 5 minutes, and it started right up.  My brother, who is a mechanic, put the computer on it when he was over my house last week.  He said the crank sensor was bad and that he couldn't perform "driveway repairs" because of the equipment needed.  I scheduled the appointment for this morning at 7:45 at the dealership-40 miles from my house.  I left at 6:15, and drove 30 miles without incident....until the car died on the Garden State Parkway, mile marker 124.2-about 7 miles from destination.  After sitting there and playing WWF on my phone for the next half hour, trying to start it every 5 minutes, it cranked!  I went over the "bridge" (Driscoll Bridge-kinda separates north Jersey from "central" Jersey)-and on the downside, car died again.  Sat there for half an hour, then it cranked again!! Got another 2 miles...and it died agian.  Now, I'm 3 miles from destination.  I called roadside assistance at this time....and they said 85 minutes.  I played a LOT of WWF this morning...car got cranked up again (now, it's like 9:30)....and I get back on the road-only to miss the exit I was supposed to get off of....my spidey sense DID kick in, and I happened to turn down the right road, pull into the dealership and have the car die in the parking lot.  Then, I had to wait for an hour before they could get me my loaner car and write up the repair order....I can't WAIT to see what the bill is going to be....

Needless to say, all morning appointments had to be rescheduled.  When I don't work...I don't get paid...

My birthday is Saturday, and I'm gonna celebrate it in Yankee Stadium with a Yankees victory over the Red Sox....this week HAS to get better!!!

Afternoon, Everybodee!

Not much going on.     School (kids) starts this week, so my wife had me wake them up before I left this morning, so they can get used to getting up before the actual day.

I've got to get info from the band director about upcoming schedule.  (I know I'm not getting the info through my daughter...the drum major called me the other day to say the parent meeting last week was postponed, and my daughter didn't even mention that there was one.    Sigh, with that kind of student communication from the child of an active parent, no telling on some of the other parents.  Will be a challenge to encourage their involvement.)

There is a school board meeting tonight that I'm going to try to attend.  (I haven't attended many of them myself.)  I do note that our previous principal is getting a change of position.  I had heard that the district had let her go, but sadly, I don't get to celebrate.  Paperwork shows they are changing her from a Principal on special assignment (in Director of Curriculum department) to Teacher (school to be determined.)     Probably the added debacle of her bringing 10 tons of untested dirt to our campus is weighing down on her.   We shall see.

(I'm also curious on how the board is going to handle an un-completed meeting.  A couple of months ago they moved the Public Communication to the end of the meeting.   Last month, they did the same, but took a recess at the end, before the public communication, and left.    Aren't they supposed to finish the previous meeting before they get on with new business at the next?)
So you are going to beat yourself up?...

Well yuengling is out of PA, and it's boasts as America's Oldest Brewery.

Foothills is out of Winston-Salem (i think), and has many good flavors.  I prefer Natty Greene's locally (out of Greensboro), especially their Buckshot, but they have a good selection also.  Lonerider is here in Raleigh, and the have a couple of good ones.  Spaten is out of Munich, Germany, and their Optimator is fantastic.  On my mini-vaca to Indy, I drank a lot of Spaten Lager at the Rathskeller, it was like $7.50 for a 32oz.  They had a couple that price, including Guiness.

And don't worry,  I'll still drink the Labatt Heavy from Canadeh.

Chicago hot! Had a conversation with a crackhead last night @ 3 in the morning on east wacker and was tired of his lies and dishonesty. did i mention it was hot. So he tells me he is trying to get back to minnesota and needs $5 for a train ticket, lol. so i gave it to him out of my pure heart and he finds me again 3 blocks away when I had the munchies at a 7/11, and says that he needs  $2.50 more so he can get a drink. lol, talk about wrong part of town! Can't knock the hustle.
