Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

So, Lochte did blow it, but I forgive him cause he's cute.

Burn Notice is still very good...and Suits is very tense this season. I like it but crap it's my light drama, at least I still Neal Caffrey to settle me down.

It's mob week so let's not forget to watch our same annual movies on amc.... they do realize that there are way more than 4 or 5 mob (actual mob) movies, right? They really should throw in a good documentary as well.

I just checked the schedule for Mob Week and couldn't find any day where all 3 Godfathers go back to back to back.  How is that possible? C'mon AMC, ya bunch of numbnuts!

Canada just tied Sweden 2-2. (For some reason I'm all about women's soccer.) They're both going through. I think my Maple Chicks may face AbbyRozay's Wambach Music in the quarters. This could get ugly since I've switched allegiances to the USA's Cash Money Girls last summer. I'm pulling the wrestling heel turn. It's getting hard out here for a sports bigamist.

Day four following the Astros and according ESPN POFF (% chance of making the playoffs) they are the only team with a 0.0%. And as per SABR's SCiH (Snowball's Chance In Hell) advanced metric, they've been mathematically eliminated for the 2013 season as well. This feels right. Houston should retire Tim Raines number to complete my full transition from 'Spos to 'Stros. I need to get an ugly 50 Shades of Orange JR Richard throwback.

Look at these magnificent b@stards!

Eff it, I'm getting the cap and the pants too. I'm pushing all my chips to the center of the table with a 10 high.

I don't have much today, except that it feels weird to have my day off fall on Tuesday (it's usually Wed.) and my inner geek is way too happy about the announcement that The Hobbit will be a trilogy.

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!

What a great freaking day.  First off, the Cubs thumped the Bucs last night 14-4 before moving two players (Reed Johnson and Paul Maholm).  We got a potential STUD in return (Arodys Vizcaino).  So long as he heals from Tommy John Surgery, he'll be a front line starter or dominant closer.  Bow chicka bow wow.

I started this juicing diet thingamajig today.  Basically I mix up a bunch of fruits and veggies and drink it two times a day instead of eating regular meals.  I have bookoo energy right now.  Woke up at the crack of dawn and went for a run along the lake....it was so nice and peaceful this morning.

Purchased two new pairs of MJ's last night (Thanks to Dee Rigga making me jelly).  My guy hooked it up though.  He threw in free water proofer, six pairs of socks, and a 25% off coupon for my next purchase.

Will everyone please STFU about CFA?  Hot damn it's annoying.  Who gives a flying rats a*s if the owner doesn't like gays.  Don't like it?  Don't eat there.  This honky will continue eating there dammit.....once my juicing phase is ova!

This is a funny sign...(I know it's fake so save it, Alain)

Have a great day everyone.  I have to go holla at a client.  Laters....

So I got a job offer yesterday, more hours a week, but less money an hour. It is still in the restaurant industry, which I am working to get out of. Should I stay where I am, till I find something new, or should I leave? I was playing with some stuffed burger recipes, this is the "chick" burger. It is stuffed with roasted apples, brie cheese, topped with caramelized onions, fresh baby spinach, and a balsamic glaze, and placed on a cibatta bun.

HeY----he's got one GOLD, a team silver ----sure he blew the lead but the guy chasing him was a badass. He still has 4 more opportunities to reach gold----------2 of which are his best events. Chill. As for Phelps, he's FINE. Dude can't stay on top forever, and his best events are coming up as well (his split time for the relay was pretty badass, and the 400 IM has got to be one of the hardest events to compete in.....ask any swimmer) He doesn't suck.

Oh hi, I didn't see you there.

It's Olympic recap time!!!
Congrats to Colorado girl Missy Franklin on her first individual gold medal.
Say what you will about Ryan Lochte, but brother has zero personality
Womens' Beach Volleyball at night in wetsuits is as watchable as men's gymnastics.  Speaking of unwatchable, every time Ryan Seacrest pops on, it's my time to change the channel.  I'm waiting for NBC to bring Tim Gunn on to the Sunday night football team now

More hours, less pay... I would just stay where I was until I found something making more... of course, I'm in for the money.

That sandwich doesn't sound good to me.

That reminded me for some reason of this rice stuff I've been making since I was a kid and had the other day. It's rice, ground beef and sausage, sauteed mushrooms and bell pepper, and a scrambled egg all mixed together. I season it with garlic, parsley, and minced onion (cause i can't bite into an onion piece without gagging but I do think the onion flavor is necessary). It's so very good and simple.

I don't boycott because it's their right to believe in whatever they want, whether I believe in the same ideology or not.  That and I gotta have the spicy deluxe sandwich in my life.  I do however will continue to try and break them whenever I'm there to say "you're welcome" instead of "my pleasure" when I say thank you.  Even when I say thank you 10 times.  They've been trained well. I have nothing against gays/lesbians.  Let's make that clear right now.  You want to play butt pirate or go deep sea diving?  That's your business.  It's just every site is being cluttered up with the same rehashed nonsense, day after day.  CFA has their policies/views, the cities of Chicago and Boston have theirs, and so do you.  You want to boycott them?  Fine by me.  Do it quietly because no one cares about you being offended by a billionaire businessman.  While I think the people should ultimately decide whether or not a business flourishes, I'm over it.

Can we talk about football?  It won't be too long until this tunnel is full of the FIGHTING IRISH!  Boom - that just happened.

And if I (people in general) started boycotting companies for what their CEO's personally believed, I'd only be patronizing bodegas, food trucks and chicken lady shacks. Phil Knight's (Nike) Paterno eulogy is cringe worthy at this point. Target's CEO? The WholeFoods guy? Pretty much the entire Walton family? The list unfortunately goes on and on. Yeesh.

I agree that it's their right to believe in whatever they want. My boycott has more to do with the fact that the president donates money (whether it be his personal money or business proceeds, I don't know or care) to groups that are working against the legalization of gay marriage. I know my measly few dollars won't make a difference, but it makes me feel better to know that I'm not contributing to that. If he didn't donate millions of dollars to groups that fight gay rights, I wouldn't really care one way or another what he believed...but I would still worry about disgruntled employees that might be upset with his beliefs.

Yeah never thought of that and I get a coffee there every time I go to Target. There's like some pizza hut burger thing in there as well. i need to explore that place a bit more on my next fattie day.

No kidding.  I have a very important fantasy baseball related trade request and the only way to bypass the firewall is to click on the link in said email.

I use the yahoo small business account for work and it's down completely. Relieved to hear that from you guys. I was about to go into my panic room and assume the fetal position and rock myself to sleep. That's what a panic room is for right? Or did i pay a contractor 35G's to turn a walk-in closet upstairs into something I don't understand?

I am enjoying the Olympics as i always do some great stories and the USA is doing well yes let's continue to beat down all commies yes    The swimming seems to be atop most of the buzz charts the Lochte kid has the personality of a telephone post and i know he wants to beat Ms. Phelps and that's fine but lets take down some commies first then worry about Phelps later, TY !

Missy Franklin and John Orozco (gymnastics from NY)  -  great stories and seem like even better kids how ya can not root for them to win !

The person responsible for setting up "mob week" should be replaced. They consistently miss adding some very good mob movies instead adding in movies like Scarface or Carlito's Way etc.  Now they are very good movies and i enjoy them but neither one has anything at all to do with the subject at hand.

Whiskey Caramel Marshmallow Bacon Bark

Makes 1 8×8 pan | Preparation: Line pan with parchment or wax paper with a one-inch overhang on each side.

16 oz of semi-sweet chocolate

4 cups of mini marshmallows
¼ cup whiskey
1 cup caramel (recipe follows)
27 Tons of spiced bacon crumble (recipe follows)
Instructions:

1. Place chocolate in a bain marie or in a heat-proof bowl above simmering water. Heat on low until chocolate is melted. Pour half of melted chocolate into parchement-lined pan. Then using an offset spatula, spread chocolate until smooth. Transfer pan to freezer to chill for about 5 minutes or until melted chocolate becomes solid.

2. Place marshmallows in a large saucepan and heat until marshmallows starts to just melt and forms web-like strands when stirred. (See picture). Remove from heat and add in 5 tablespoons of whiskey; stir to combine. Spread marshmallow mixture over solid chocolate layer. (To easily spread the marshmallow to an even layer, spray offset spatula with non-stick spray.)

3. Pour caramel on top of marshmallow layer. Then, using an offset spatula, spread caramel until smooth. Transfer pan to freezer to chill for about 5 minutes or until caramel becomes slightly hardened. Pour remaining half of chocolate over caramel layer and, using an offset spatula, spread chocolate until smooth. Sprinkle and gently press bacon crumble into chocolate, Return fully assembled bark to refrigerator to chill for 20 minutes or until bark becomes solid. Bring bark to almost room temperature before cutting.

Bacon Crumble

27 tons bacon
1/4 cup sugar
4 tablespoon water
1 egg white
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1. Cook bacon and set aside to cool completely. Once cooled, coarsely crumble bacon with hand; set aside and heat oven to 300 degrees F.

2. Place sugar and water in a pot and heat until sugar is dissolved. Toss crumbled bacon in sugar syrup to coat. Pass coated bacon through a strainer to drain excess sugar syrup.

2. Add egg white to a bowl and beat until fluffy and foamy. Add in black pepper and cayenne. Whisk to combine. Add in crumbled bacon and toss to coat.

3. Spread coated, crumbled bacon on a parchment lined bakesheet and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool, then crumble bacon one last time.

Caramel Filling

1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons water
4 tablespoon butter
7 tablespoon heavy cream
Instructions:

Add sugar and water into a saucepan over medium low heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Use a wet brush to remove any crystals that form on the side. Once sugar has dissolved increase heat to high. Now and then, using the handle, give the pot a swirl to keep the mixture moving. Do not stir the mixture directly. The mixture will start to bubble after a minute. As the mixture darkens to a medium amber color, approximately 5-7 minutes, add the butter and heavy cream to saucepan. The mixture will bubble wildly. Whisk to combine (bubbles will subside upon cooling). Set aside to cool completely.

So the Bucs made some moves that I can live with...except the last one.  I will miss Brad Lincoln, but Toronto fans seem mad that we got Travis Snider, so maybe it's actually a good deal.  I will take Gabby Sanchez and a pitcher in exchange for a draft pick and Gorkys Hernandez.  He's probably the best fielder in the Bucs' system, but he has a grand total of 3 major league hits, buh-bye!  Sanchez then in turn made Casey McGehee and his disappointing self expendable once again, and he went to the Bronx...but there HAD to be SOMEBODY better than Chad Qualls in return!

Final tally:
Wandy Rodriguez - YES!
Travis Snider - potentially YES!
Gabby Sanchez - YES!
Chad Qualls - FFS NO!
