Last Tuesday, as President Obama got off the Helicopter in front of the White House, he was carrying a baby piglet under each arm.. The squared away Marine guard snaps to attention, Salutes, and says: "Nice pigs, Sir." The President replies: "These are not pigs. These are authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and I got one for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi." The squared away Marine again snaps to attention, Salutes, and says: "Excellent trade, sir."

A Close Second!!

Had a great 3-day weekend, I can't put into words how happy I am to have football back!!!

A few random thoughts:

-I'll wait until either Michigan wins a couple of games or Alabama beats someone that isn't totally one dimentional before I'm giving them any props.  Michigan just isn't a top 25 team, let alone #8....
-I hate the triple option for a major program (I'm looking straight at you Georgia Tech), gimmicky offenses work at small schools like Navy and Air Force and can get you an upset win or two, but it'll only get you 6-8 wins a season playing wth the big boys.
-Notre Dame scored 50... on NAVY?!?!... and everybody's getting excited???  I know that Navy has had a nice little run the past few years, and that they even beat the Irish a few years ago, but please see my two previous thoughts.  Bottom line, Notre Dame SHOULD beat Navy 50-14 every year, even when Notre Dame is down.
-USC struggled just a little bit with Hawai'i in the first quarter... keep that in mind for Nov. 3rd, they'd better not start slow on that day!!
-The Ducks uniforms on Saturday night were AWFUL, but the team was on-point.  Mariota is the truth, never would have pegged him as a true freshman from watching that game.  The Black Mamba is back, and Kenjon Barner is better than ever!  Looks like the Ducks just may 4-peat as Pac-12 champs!!!

Looking forward to watch my Seahawks play on Sunday!!

Happy Tuesday,

I'm so happy college football is back.  My Irish straight up dominated the Middies of Navy, 50-10.  My boy Theo Riddick(ulous) was outstanding.  So stoked to see him back at running back after his two year "experiment" playing wide receiver.  Dude is going to be a high draft pick if he keeps it up.

Loved seeing Michigan get waxed by Bama.  They took the will out of Denard and company from the get go.

I was anti-Ohio St before the weekend, but we formed a message board alliance on Saturday.  Therefore, I no longer have a problem with them.  In fact, the bar I watched the game at is a ND and OSU bar so I did a Bourbon Meyer shot as a gesture of goodwill.  Drinking from 7:30am-midnight is tough.

Bachelor party on Sunday included tons of booze, a terrible round of golf, a wrestling match on the 17th hole, more booze, and passing out by midnight.  Yes, I had a stiff neck upon waking up.  And no, I wasn't snorting a slim jim.  That is compliments of my a-hole friends (who also poured water on me and tried to claim I pissed myself).

What a rough two day stretch.  I have to turn around and do it again this weekend because I have a weddings to attend on Friday and Saturday.  Wish me luck.

NFL starts tomorrow.  Look for NY to smoke Dallas and for Justin Tuck to do work!

Have a good day and remember, it is what it is.....

This Navy team sucks.  But you haven't been paying attention if you think we should score 50 on them every year.  Go ask OSU and USCjr fans how tough they can be to play.

Good job on holding Arky St under 40, though.

Aloha and welcome to Tuesday

Crazy weekend..
My best friend's 5 year old almost drowned, had to be resuscitated long story, but he should be fine.. whew
I was 2-2 on my locks of the college football weekend.  Granted, One pick was made purely out of Notre Dame spite.  The other one I lost on was Michigan State vs Boise State.  What an ugly game that was, both offenses are going to continue to struggle with QB play like that.  But Le'Veon Bell for MSU is a beast, look out.  Speaking of awful QB play, CU lost to CSU.. Ugh.. Let the rebuilding continue.
I thought USC looked good, scored on their first offensive play, scored 20 in the 1st quarter and was up 35-0 at the half.  Matt Barkley is by far the best QB in college football.  Watch him throw the ball.  Nov 3rd vs Oregon is gonna be great.
The Alabama - Michigan game was the easiest money to be made this past weekend.  Denard Robinson is a good player, but you HAD to see a performance like that coming against an athletic defense.
A lot of top ranked teams still have a lot to prove, a lot that playing Savannah State won't help.

Played golf on Sunday, and had my best day with the irons I've had all season yes

And for your bible study of the day
Leviticus 11:7
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

That's right, no more bacon you damn sinners

Granted i don't follow college FB nearly as closely as I used to, but WTF are preseason NCAA rankings based on? How in the h3ll was Michigan a top 10 team? Bama never got out of 3rd gear and took their foot off the pedal in the second half and it STILL wasn't even close. Is Vandy good? Gamecocks overrated because the Ol' Ball Coach is involved? Is the Big 10 the new Big East which may be the MAC at this point? I need answers.

I think I was a little too stoked for football this weekend, cuz man, there was some ugly ball being played and i still watched every second of it. lol

It's NFL eve people, act accordingly. I have Skip and Stephen A! screeching, for the sake of screeching, in the back ground about Giants-Cowboys. All is right in the universe.

Pre-season rankings are based on speculation, much like futures and options trading, the conference you're in, the amount of campaign contributions, the NCAA and bowl committees hopes for end of the year scenarios (since it is extraordinarily harder to climb rankings than fall), oh and The Unified Jesus Rankings (SEC biased if you ask me)

I can't speak for everyone, but Michigan received their high preseason ranking based on being the luckiest SOB's in CFB last year.  Every bounce went their way and they played the only team less deserving of a BCS bowl, VT.  Not to mention the fact that their daddy (OSU) was dealing with the Tress-gate.

This gif properly illustrates the luck Michigan had last year.  Keep in mind this was 4th down.

Good Morning, Everybodee!

Wow!   Can I get another weekend to recuperate from this last one?   So much went on.   And since I had to reload everything on my computer, I can't get the Q from home (yet)  My antivirus is showing the log-on page as a phishing attempt.  Gotta check the settings to list it as an exempted.

Friday night school football team - either we got a bunch of ringers playing for us, or they put something in their Wheaties.  We won.  That by itself is shocking enough, but we steamrolled the other team 62-0.    First home game on our field in well over a year, the school needed the win.

Saturday and Sunday fireworks, the last of the season.  1812 Overture.  Youngfool and his girlfriend came to La Jolla with a church group, and we were able to get them both on the barge on Sunday.  (First time meeting her in person.)    Somebody's already posted videos of the concert     This is the better one, I believe it was Saturday's performance...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s62l0lgw7SU

Sunday was also our band director's mother's last fireworks show on the barge, as she is retiring from the college library and moving back to Wisconsin.    Great show.

On a sad note, along with the loss of Michael Duncan Clark, we say good bye to William Calabrese.   He was a San Diego local, who has worked on fireworks shows out here.   There was an accident at one of the shows in Lake Elsinore.  3 people were injured, one being William.  He passed away on Sunday.  (Sadly, he would have turned 21 on Monday.)  Condolences.

Not real impressed with the Sooners win Saturday night, but its the first game of the year.

We went to see The Possession yesterday, but IMO, it wasnt as scary as the exorcist. Dont remember who threw that line out there. Typical fright flick, family moves in , bad things happen , you already know the ending. It was alright, but really when was the last time hollywood put out a movie that was actually scary.

Navy got their a** handed to them by ND, what else would your expect from the Swabbies. Buffs lose to Colorado St, thankfully they are the PAC 12s problem child now. All you Nebraska fans should be glad Stevie Peterson is no longer in LIncoln. He is now destroying the PItt program.

Cuddles and Capt watch out this week, its the biggest collection of nitwits and pansies in one place, in your part of the world.

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

Well, it's about f**king time.  Those fortunate souls among you that were blessed enough to read my post last week will remember that I am coaching HS football for the second year now, and I promised an update if things went right.  Well hoe-lee sheep $h*t did things go right!.  Noo Way Voh Mek-See-Koe has a mercy rule at 50 points, and this f**ker was called at halftime with the good guys up 54-0.  That, my friends, is officially Cactus Jack's first win as a coach in HS.

So, this week is the Demoncrats turn to lie to us and smile.  Is it really too much to ask for a little reach-a-round?  Really?

NFL kicks off Manana (That means tomorrow, in Spanglishesian).  I am so ecstatic about the prospects of my beloved Cowboys having yet another mediocre year with no playoff success that I could just about $h*t.  D*mn you, Jerry Jones.

That's enough for today.

You F'ers have been edJACKated!

Of course I've given half my heart to about a half dozen women.  It's almost like a horcrux.

So I was just joking with a friend who said she was outside for like 90 minutes.  I jokingly asked if she was "working".  Her reply was LOL.  I said that wasn't a no.  She said yes it was.  My response was "unless you say 'I was not working", you haven't officially denied it"  Apparently she was working.

Huskers looked good.  Martinez had a great game throwing.  But yes, I too would like to know how much love the SEC would get without pre-season polls.  No poll before the Ides of October suggests Hskrdave.

Election years always make me happy I don't have tv to watch.

Hmmm.  Does everyone know my kids are both playing sports?

I've got Owners over players in the NHL CBA, but it's like 52-48%

Anything else?  Anyone?  Bueller? Frye?

I guess I'm supposed to care college football started, but so far not feeling anything. Maybe it was the weekend in Baltimore, maybe it was the slate of almost all uninteresting blowouts, maybe the Penn State thing has torpedoed my interest. Guess we'll find out this weekend.

I see now that the DNC is about to start, we're getting the "all politicians lie" line from people who conspicuously said nothing during the RNC. Funny how that works.

It's humid here thanks to the remnants of Isaac, which is taking its sweet old time to bring rain here. Isaac is a terrible party guest.

Nationals have clinched a winning season, not that anyone in the national media has noticed due to Strasburg blathering. O's are 7 away.

I can't get excited about college football either. I watch with casual interest when my husband's home and watching on Saturdays but it's truly one of the only sports I don't generally tune in to watch on my own on a regular basis. I will probably watch a bit of the Griz this season though.

It took me way longer to type that just now than it should have, with entirely too many backspaces. Why? I ripped my nail completely off my middle finger on my right hand today. Fabulous.

I see Seattle's somewhat under the radar again. Oh well, I say.

Great game Sunday.  The 32-14 Louisville win does not adequately define the spankdown Kentucky got.  In fact, the scrubs went in rather early so that Coach Strong could save Joker's job.  For one more week, anyway.  Today's been wacky and it's about to get wackier.  Later, taters.

Found another video someone took from Sunday night at the Summer Pops, this one from a sailboat just offshore.  Not the best video picturewise or soundwise, but you can see how close the venue is to the water.   It's about 12 minutes long, and the cannons start firing around 8:35.

Man, I'm going to have fireworks withdrawels the next few weekends.  Hmmm, I wonder if I can sneak over and rig my neighbor's gas grill up to ex... uh,..er,...

That's a pizza from Lou's - I'm pretty sure it's just a Chicago area local chain, but they ship anywhere! Like I said, I have jswol to thank for that little gem. Good lord, it's amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it.  If you ever venture back this way, I highly suggest Peqoud's.  They have an amazing thin crust.  There's one caveat, though.  You actually have to venture into the city to get it or to the northern aka "the best" burbs!

Not a problem at all for me, especially if we don't have the dogs this time! (That was a major issue this summer.) I will write it down!

Have a good day and remember, it is what it is.....
here is Tuck doing what he does best, with a little help from his friends:
