Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I'm not loving Frank Ocean as much as some others. He's cool, though. I am enjoying this song, and the dude in general.

Ok. Remember to eat.

Morning, Everybodee!

Finally Friday.

Football game tonight, and possibly a fireworks show tomorrow.  Yeah!  My neighbor's grill is safe for another week.

I thought it was OK. It was just a mashup of a bunch books I read in high school.

The Lottery - Shirley Jackson
The Most Dangerous Game - Richard Connell
Lord of the Flies - William Golding
The Running Man - Richard Bachman (Stephen King)

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

So, I have spent literally minutes and minutes of half a$$ed energy perusing the interweb thingy, trying to find a little interesting news for you F'ers.

No luck.

Today is as boring a news day as you will find in the history of planet earth.  Boring, unless you appreciate $h*t like the guvurnmint stealing 80 million dollars worth of gold coins from a family that owns them.  Or a liberal news outlet like Yahoo calling Barry's speech last night "underwhelming".  Or another f**king month of unemployment over 8%.  This day will go down in history as a total f**king waste.

Anyhow, did you guys hear?

The Giants suck.

Bill and Shirely are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

"Shirely, I was wondering -- have you ever cheated on me"

"Oh Bill, why would you ask such a question now" You don't want to ask that question..."

"Yes, Shirely, I really want to know. Please."

"Well, all right. Yes, 3 times."

"Three" When were they"

"Well, Bill, remember when you were 35 years old and you really wanted to start the business on your own and no bank would give you a loan" Remember how one day the bank president himself came over to the house and signed the loan papers, no questions asked"

"Oh, Shirely, you did that for me! I respect you even more than ever, that you would do such a thing for me! So, when was number 2"

"Well, Bill, remember when you had that last heart attack and you were needing that very tricky operation, and no surgeon would touch you" Remember how Dr. Johnson came all the way up here, to do the surgery himself, and then you were in good shape again"

"I can't believe it! Shirley, I love that you should do such a thing for me, to save my life! I couldn't have a more wonderful wife. To do such a thing, you must really love me darling. I couldn't be more moved. When was number 3"

"Well, Bill, remember a few years ago, when you really wanted to be president of the golf club and you were 15 votes short"

Konichiwa B!tches,

Haven't been around much this week, I've actually been working.... I know, right?!

The University of Oregon has instutued drug testing policy that's kind of weak because of an artilce ESPN did claiming that "40-60%" of the football team smoked the hippy lettuce.... 1st failed test results in counsiling, 2nd failed test results in a 'Behavior Contract', 3rd failed test results in a 1/2 year suspention.

Here's a gif

I love the South Park episode with this thing....

Here's a pic

It's Friday.  I'm still employed.  Can't wait for the election to be over.  Good thing my boss respects my opinions, she has been
unable to come up with any reason for electing Mitt Romney other than protecting and being able to recoup what they lost in the market
4 years ago.  When I explained to her that is what we all need to do too.  However, there is a huge difference of losing
$200K in the market when your net worth is 22Mil, and the rest of us losing 200K/home/pensions was the whole ball of retirement wax.

No wa y can possibly catch up on all I misse since last we spoke, so Imma skip it.. I'd rather talk football anyway. Even though they failed to upgrade their most needed position (head coach), the Texans look primed to make a long run this year. Starting with the Home Opener against Miami, the first half of the season looks rough, but we should make up for it with the Division games. The rest of the AFC South pretty much sucks eggs. This right here, ladies and gentlemen, is why I retired. So sick of injuries on teams other than the Seahawks stressing me the eff out, among other things.

There's a fly in my house - and it's not one of those fat slow flies like we had in Key West. It's fast and it keeps buzzing me - it won't leave me alone. It either likes my body splash or my shampoo. I guess I stink.

We had so much fun yesterday! We went out to the beach, and one of the guys Trev works with has 2 quads and a RZR, and another of his friends has yet another RZR. Those RZRs on the dunes are so much fun - they haul A, and even if you roll them, it's just part of the roller coaster ride as long as you're not dumb enough to try and stick your hands out - there's a passenger "oh sh**" bar.

I made some new friends - the wives here actually all seem pretty cool. The beach was awesome - bigger waves (though not huge), soft sand, and we watched a huge pod of whales! I took some pics, but they didn't turn out so well. I guess we're going back out sometime soon, so I'll take our fancy camera. They're also bringing the kayaks and other fun water toys. I guess this little podunk town might not be so bad after all.

I'm so ready for Sunday!

I looked up the gold coin story, and while the case details are vague, it turns out a jury last year first ruled for the government, and now a District Court judge confirmed that verdict in appeal, stating that "the coins in question were not lawfully removed from the United States Mint." It's being appealed to the Third Circuit. Not really sure what else one could ask for regards to that.

I remembered I promised to restart Daily Jeopardy once my exams were over. Oops. At this point, I'll just wait til the new season starts, which could be next week.

Oh well, life is good. The O's are tied for first place, and Alex Zanardi did it again, winning a second Paralympic gold. If you haven't before, I urge you all to read what I've written about him, or just Google him. I don't gush over many people, which should tell you something.

I'm watching the US Open semifinals between Azarenka and Sharapova. Tight match, but I lasted about 2 points before I had to mute the TV due to their shrieking.

With the NFL starting up this weekend, I must announce that the Sunday Live Threads will return, written by me once again. That is, at least until you rise up and demand someone else do it.

For how ever short-lived it may be...I'm baaaa-aaaack!!! I have been wrapped up in work the last few weeks. New work, extra work, other people's work, etc. etc. In fact, I'm at a place where I can chill for a minute, so I am gonna do just that. So Go Texans!!
Not fair that the Texas were given an extra exhibition game, or is it just a glorified scrimmage against a college team?

have him on 3 of 24 fantasy teams, so yeah, crossing my fingers that he plays.

Oh, it's the 46th anniversary of Star Trek apparently. Guess who's been playing on the google page.
My "Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" are reserved for basketball season. Nothing as terminably boring than watching a guy dribble a ball while slamming his ass into the testicles of the guy guarding him for 3-4 seconds trying to back him down while 8 other guys stand around being bored to tears.

A 3 member appeals panel has OVERTURNED the player suspensions in the Saints Bounty case.......details have yet to be released!

Here is one of the stories that I found   click here
If that is true, it is such bullsh*t--they were deliberately trying to maim and injure star players for money. They are lucky I am not the League Commissioner--I'd not only ban them permanently, but have them arrested for assault and battery.

1 - Even though I rarely remember to take them, looking forward to your Jeopardy polls
2 - Excited for your Sunday game threads - Im sure nobody will be demanding someone else do it; your snarky comments are what makes them so great. If you want Monday's I won't fight you for it. If you don't, I may ask you to cover the one on the 24th for me cheeky

Oh and...(not trying to be annoying by multiple posts, I promise) - I just ran across this brilliance. Language NSFW but oh-so-awesome. I now heart another punter in the league along with Jon Ryan.

I wish AD, Percy Harvin, and Kluwe weren't Vikings. Love them all.

Hmmm no wonder where John Deere got their idea for the new Gator.

My idiot co-worker flipped one of them this week at work.
She's not outside eating chicken, that's for sure...

Evening folks.

I haven't checked in here in a very long time, but hope everyone is doing well.

Little update on me: Last week I started ECT treatments for my depression. 4 sessions so far, and I'm starting to see some improvements. Only drawback right now is that I'm also losing a lot of memory. Well, that and not liking to go under every other day.

So happy football starts Sunday.

It's a 6-15 session thing, my doctor hasn't figured out how many I will be doing yet, will get an estimate when I go in again on Monday.

I hope so too.

I'm watching the NASCAR race online....sorta.

I was supposed to golf tonight in the GlowBall tournament.  Yesterday I found out I could have the day off today and a friend's husband overheard me telling another friend.  They had asked me to golf on their team in the tourney, but I had begged off because of work.  So last night she phones practically begging me to golf with them, as they still didn't have a full team.  I didn't really want to (It's horribly expensive as it's a charity tourney and there are charity events at every hole - you're expected to contribute) but I agreed.  She said they would be here at 5 to decorate the carts - at my trailer.  5 and then 6 came and went, and about 20 after 6 I get a text message from her saying they are on the deck, "Your still comming right"

Well, dinner was served at 6.  I wasn't officially signed up, as she had signed up the team and paid the fees - I was to pay her.  That was the first contact I had had from her today.  No answer to any of my texts, nothing.  So I decided I would save my money and stay home.  I have to work at the clubhouse at 7am, and the tourney doesn't usually end until 1am, so I texted back that "because I hadn't heard from her, and they hadn't shown up at 5, as promised, I figured they had found someone else, and no thank you, I was now cleaning my trailer and going to bed early so I could work tomorrow.  But have fun!!!"

No response.

Too bitchy? What say you?
