I Got Shot, Did You?
No, I don't mean gunshots.  It's that time of year again, flu season is starting.  Did you get yours yet?

 Even though I SHOULD get the flu shot, I agree with Hess...I can't afford to get the flu.  I am constantly washing my hands....with each patient, 2 handwashings....upon entering, and leaving...I ALWAYS wash my hands.  I've missed a grand total of TWO days of work because I was sick in 21 years.  My eye surgeries were a different story....but sickness-only twice...January 28, 1995 and December 11, 2003...(my almost porno...er...PHOTOGRAPHIC memory working again)....

 I've had the flu twice...both times were directly after I had a flu shot. I won't be getting one.

Yep. It's pretty much required in the hospital. I got the new intraderm one or whatever. People are gross, it's necessary. My baby got hers last month.

 Since I also work in a hospital, it's highly recommended you get one.  It's also free from employee health.  In fact, they usually have rolling clinics around the place to get people vaccinated.  Last year I got mine in front of a nurse's station, and all the nurses were squeamish about getting needles stuck in them, was kinda funny to watch.  Yesterday I got shot up at the exit of the cafeteria.  Only during flu season will you see people getting stuck with needles in the cafeteria.

 I havent had a shot since i got ouut of the military and havent been sick either, so i will pass and let Mrs mojo have mine. She gets deathlly ill every year if she dont get one.

I haven't gotten mine yet this year but I will, probably next week.  It's an absolute must !!   
The one time I didn't get it, I ended up in the hospital for 10 days sick.  That's something
I would rather not repeat !!

 They have just sent an email with the schedule for the flu shot here at work. I might  or I might not. I am even random with flu shots. I just can't help it. And that's ok.

 I eat a lot of fresh fish, and I don't want to add mercury to my diet from a shot.
I wash my hands constantly as well.  However, if it becomes a work requirement I will cave and get it.

 I've had the flu once in the last 15+ years and it came the year I got shot.  Hells to the no....jswol doesn't like getting sick unless it's self induced.

 Haven't gotten a flu shot or the flu. I try to rely on my own body defenses. Still young and strong enough. Maybe as I get up there in age a little more... That shouldn't take long...

Why?  You're injecting yourself with a live flu virus...if your immune system is compromised for any reason you're f**ked. 

Ive worked in a hospital for 15 years...never had the shot...never had the flu.   If you're careful you dont need a shot.  Wash your hands and dont let people in your personal space.

I've never had the flu. I have a 4 year old. She's in daycare. Kids are gross. I also know that all the men passing through this hospital don't wash their f***ing hands before coming out the restroom. It's scary, really. It's also required here now. I'm not wearing a mask at work all damn winter. oh, and it's inactive.

 I use to get it ..............when they offered it at our district offices. It has never been free for us. I didn't get it last year since it wasn't offered.

 I've had co-workers get the shot, then their family gets it immediately after.  So I have never gotten it.    Didn't need 4 sick kids at home.  If I get the flu, I let my immune system get its natural workout.

lol - I've had the flu shot only twice, and I've had the flu only twice. Coincidentally, both times I've had the flu were immediately after getting the shot. I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin' cheeky


My immune system is pretty strong, I think. The only issues I ever really have are respiratory, and that's been long determined to be due to a number of things I won't bore anyone with now. If I start dealing with lower immune system at some point, I'll start getting immunized.

 And by the way, guys, if you are over 40, you should be getting your prostate checked 2x a year for cancer; prostate cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in men after heart attacks.

Ladies, if you have a man and love a man, get him to go get it checked. A finger in the butt now is better than being planted 6 feet under.
