got to go with Weaver first, then King Felix (13 wins for a crappy Seattle team with that ERA definitely merits 2nd place). No Sabathia or Soriano for me on this list because Rodney was more of a surprise for me as a reliever--he never saved this many before. Sale was a reliever last year, starter this year with those numbers gets him #4. Price dominant as usual for #3. Sabathia being hurt too much this year kept him off my list.

Verlander is still the best pitcher in the game. Ignore the win-loss record (a useless stat), and his numbers are very, very similar to last years. What dropoff there is is small. Price's end of the season was enough for me to put him over Felix for 2nd, a move I'm already regretting. I gave a vote to Scherzer for the strikeouts (his ERA is hurt by Detroit's bad D, another point in Verlander's favor). I probably should've found a spot for Weaver, but oh well.

As a general rule, I do not feel 60-70 inning relievers do enough to merit Cy Young votes.

Really Weaver, Price or Verlander could win and it is hard to sit there and complain. 67 innings is a lot for a reliever when you have to take in account how many of the teams starters went deep and had a big enough lead to where a manager waned to save a pitcher arm. I know people want to claim it is innings which hurts the arm, but if that was true we would not have so many relievers getting TJ now a days. Poor mechanics. I know off the subject. Sale is quiet but had a solid year pitching and keeping the CHISOX in the race most of the season.
