Well good morning.
It's days like these that I wish I could take my birthday off from work.. Had hockey at 10:30 last night, only had 7 skaters, then of course had to hang out afterwards until about 1:30, so needless to say I'm pooped.
Can I get a big round of applause for my sexy womanfriend and her poll making abilities?

Tonight, I'm gonna go check out some minor league hockey to get my fix since the NHL and PA can't get their sh*t together.  Should be a good time, and I'm hoping for some good old fashioned Iron League hockey

Other than that, I don't have much.. Have a glorious day everybody

HOCKEY FANS, here is a blog, of one perspective, of what happened yesterday with the CBA issue:

STORY

Pretty much, this ESPN dude is stating that the players are being made out to be the bad guys, but shouldn't be and that the owners sound desperate to get something done, so, something may get completed soon?

BLAH-BLAH-BLAH!  Until I can watch some NHL, I don't give a rats ass how close they are!  GET ER DONE!!

Since I worked yesterday when I was supposed to be off, I'm now off today to make up for it.  As a result, I'm #3 on filter!  This has to be a record for me on the weekdays!  Yesterday was fun, I got to be in charge along with another team leader, and we both took turns being out on the floors with laptops just making our presence known.  When I was in the Short Stay unit, our "ad hoc" Tug brought a delivery of linen.  Tug has several siblings.  It's our group of linen robots.  Well Ad-hoc Tug was, for lack of a better word, DUMB!  It parked right in front of a room, I showed the people how to get the stuff out of the little cart.  I told them "push the green button when you close the door and it knows to go home."  The aide pushed the green button, and it said "thank you," scared the living s*** out of her.  It said "turning around," and should've made a complete U-turn and then a left to get out of the unit and back to the elevator to go home.  Instead it made half a turn, and started going towards the back of the unit.  The aide that got scared started saying (since she heard a female voice on it) "Hey miss, you're going the wrong way!"  It ignored her, began to then turn left again, and turned straight into the main desk of the nurse's station!  Tug is quite stupid, but it's funny when it does crap like that all on its own.  I think whoever built our Tugs gave them the Polish sense of direction.

Happy Friday, Happy birthday Stoney, and enjoy the weekend!

Morning, Everybodee!

Well, I survived my trip to the Principal's Office.  We discussed my issue with the lack of communication and the Asst. Principal admitted he had made the mistake of not contacting everyone when he should have.   (Now why did he wait that long to say that?  That would have stopped everything and I wouldn't have had to keep hounding for details.)

The principal asked about a phone message he received from a parent from another school who heard allegedly from his kids who allegedly heard from our kids that our band wasn't performing anything at the homecoming game tonight.   The same parent, not getting a prompt response also called the superintendent.

Of course, his call probably would carry a bit more weight if he didn't start his call with "WTF!"

Homecoming Today.   They are having an assembly this afternoon, and the band is wearing their brand new uniforms.  Then at the game they'll be in regular clothes wearing their regular band spirit shirt.  That way alumni can come in wearing one from their time.    Fireworks tonight.  Ought to be a good show.

Morning.

Once again.............happy birthday, Mr. Swoon-tastic (remember that........awww....it's the memories that keep me here). I still hate your face! (translation-----You are awesome (side translation......you picked the Kings last year, and I haven't forgotten).

I watched AHS-Asylum .....hmmmmm....not sure I get what is going on, but I love it. It's a mess and ----I'm IN!

If the NHL stuff can't get fixed, I'm seriously considering going to Ontario to watch some Ontario Reign. (I probably won't, but I'm thinking it. ) I WANT MY HOCKEY FIXED! I will once again watch a replay of Game 6 some time this weekend. Pretty soon I'll  know it all by heart...............not just by memory.

I may start drinking on a consistent basis thanks to a parent.

Have a good one. Remember to hug someone.

Q: How do you make four old ladies say "F**K!"?

A: Get a fifth one to yell "BINGO!"

indecision

1. Only in America......can a pizza get to your house faster than an
ambulance.
2. Only in America......are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.
3. Only in America......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to
the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people
can buy cigarettes at the front.
4. Only in America......do people order double cheeseburgers, large
fries, and a diet coke.
5. Only in America......do banks leave both doors open and then chain
the pens to the counters.
6. Only in America......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in
the drive way and put our useless junk in the garage.
7. Only in America......do we use answering machines to screen calls and
then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't
want to talk to in the first place.
8. Only in America......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in
packages of eight.
9. Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the
process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning
'bloodsucking creatures'.
10. Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille
lettering.

You gotta love The Post, lol

Me and my friends were looking at Deh-reck Jee-ter (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap) and A-rod then trying to figure out who has a better chance of breaking the hit or HR records respectively. Jeter is 952 back with a last 5 yr avg. of 189 hits. Alex (lulz) is 115 back with a past 5 yr avg. of about 25. Jeter's been more up and down while A-Rod is falling off a cliff. By that (horribly flawed) math it would take both of them around 5 years to do it. But realistically A-Rod is not going to hit more than about 20 a year, if that. I do think Jeter can hang around and eventually DH, fist balls into right field, etc. like Molitor did well into his 40's. I say Jeter sticks around long enough to do it. A-Rod may be a lost cause at this point, idk? Even with a change of scenery, $114 mill. over the next 5 is a tough pill for anybody to swallow (Yankees or otherwise) and what value does he have as a player? That has to be one of the ugliest contracts in history of anything right? Yeesh. This may need a poll?

Working all weekend.  Tis a good thing.

I mailed my Marlins  Cabrera jersey to my cuz this a.m.  Shed a tear.  Go Tigers!  Glad we could help.

Little girl, little girl
Why are you crying?
Inside your restless soul your heart is dying
Little one, little one
Your soul is perchin'
Of love and razor blades
Your blood is surging

Runaway
From the river to the street
And find yourself with your face in the gutter
Your a stray for the salvation army
There is no place like home
When you got no place to go

Little girl, little girl
Your life is calling
The charlatans and saints of your abandon
Little one, little one
The sky is falling
Your lifeboat of deception is now sailing
In the wake all the way
No rhyme or reason
Your bloodshot eyes
Will show your heart of treason
Little girl little girl
You dirty liar
You're just a junkie
Preaching to the choir

Runaway
From the river to the street
And find yourself with your face in the gutter
Your a stray for the salvation army
There is no place like home
When you got no place to go

The traces of blood
Always follow you home

I say bring him up on charges for FRAUD,,,make him pay back every dime of that contract. Jeter at his age will never be the same,,,he will be now stuck in utility limbo. I will always say he will go down as one of the luckiest SS of all time. Take him off those Yankees of the late 90's and do you think he gets 4 rings? I dont think so

OK, you lucky F'ers...I'm back.

Again, no news worth repeating.  Politicians are dip$h*ts..the earth is round, blah, blah f**king blah.

Anyhow.  I'm still working on this charity thing, and I need to come up with a name for this organization.  First thought, of course, was "Glamourboobs".  That doesnt have the ring I'm looking for though.  So far I've also come up with "Timeless Tatas" and "Eternit*tt*es".

Suggestions?

Ladies, there is still time to take advantage of this generous offer.  You never know when something might happen.

Your argument about Jeter is neither here nor there.  Take Brady off the Pats and what happens?  Take Bradshaw off the Steelers and what happens?  Take MJ off the Bulls and do they win 6 rings?  No.  Listen, I HATE Jeter (for reasons I've explained on here a plenty), but the dude is a great baseball player.  Easily one of the best Yankees ever, let alone all-time great.  The argument you should be making is.....do the Yanks win 4 WS w/O Jeter?

Hell no.  Maybe one.....MAYBE two.  But not four.

I doubt either get there. Jeter is what, 39 now, he just had a season basically unprecedented, and with that broken ankle, I doubt he'll get anywhere close to those heights in the future. No way does he average 189 hits in his 40s. A-Rod meanwhile has had multiple injuries, including a broken hand this year which started this current tailspin. I don't think he's as toast as he looked this October, but he's obviously not the same.

That said, this hyperbole of "charge A-Rod for fraud" is just dumb, and part of the juvenile majority of sports commentary I can't stand. It takes two to make that deal, and this has been the Yankees MO the past few seasons. They're on the hook for a lot of money for a few players, most of whom are well into their decline phases. The piper for the 2009 World Series title is starting to be paid. The question for the Yankees is do they find a way to get under a $189 million payroll for 2014 (if they do, they get to pay a lot less in luxury tax), or throw caution to the wind and keep spending their giant war chest.

Also, Vernon Wells or Ryan Howard are still worse contracts.

Easily one of the best posts I've see during my time on the Q.

Anyone complaining about the contracts Cashman and the Yank's doled out is foolish.  Would anyone here turn down an exorbitant amount of money to do their job?  Hell no you wouldn't.   The Yankees' brass made their bed and now it's time to lie in it.  Money in baseball is guaranteed and they knew it.  The question is; do they find a team to fleece and essentially take advantage of in order to rid themselves of those ginormous contracts?  I hope not.  I really hope not.  But  it will happen.  The Yankees are bullies in every sense of the word and baseball is a different animal because of no salary cap.  Until that changes, good luck if you're a small market team.

As for Jeter breaking the hit record.....I wouldn't bet against they guy, though I agree it's highly unlikely.

Great points. I just think he's going to stick around for a while. He's 38. Now 189 may be way high, but 135-ish is more likely-ish as an old DH filling seats for a dying Yanks team. I could see this side show lasting another 7 years, lol.

As beloved as he is in NY and with guys being fit and able to hang around for quite a few years past their prime alla JimThome etc that 6-7 more years mark may be more realistic then it seems if Jeter himself has the want to still play the game. I mean 7 yrs puts him at what 45 lol  its def not outside the realm of possibility. indecision

True confessions of a Cubs fan tonight.

I am cheering for one of the teams I hate to win the pennant.

Yes, actively cheering for them.

IDK if any of you jumped on the Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin bandwagon on facebook.  Or you even heard of him in your neck of the woods.  Lane was a teenager who lost the battle with a rare form of childhood cancer this week.  He loved the St. Louis Cardinals with all his being.  I think it's fitting that the Cardinals win it all this year in this young man's honor.  He thought little of his own struggle...all he wanted to do was make people aware that childhood cancer is real.  BTW, he got thumbs ups from the likes of Johnny Depp, The St. Louis Cardinals front office, some of the players, Mitt Romney, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, among others.  I am not posting this to sadden anyone.  Lane wouldn't want anyone to be sad for him.  I just can't believe that a young man I never met could influence my thinking enough to allow me to want the Cards to win another World Series.  But he has.

But he has.
What a great story!  I can understand and respect your choice for that reason! yes

But, if they end up winning, I am going to be very troubled......even more so than I already am wink

Ya see, Harry Caray and Ron Santo, two  of the biggest Cubs fans that I have ever met and seen, both have passed on and the Cubs didn't win the WS, make it to the WS or, for that matter, they missed the playoffs those 2 years of their deaths!  It just doesn't seem right. frown

I'm not saying that the CARDS shouldn't win it in honor of him, but, where are the baseball Gods when it came to Harry or Ron?!?! angry

These sentiments expire after the final game of the WS this year.

The baseball gods need help from the baseball team and it's front office.  And Steve Bartman.

Don't you go making me feel bad about my absolute hatred of the Cardinals. (Sweet story, cancer is awful and I hope we one day have a cure, but I'm still hoping they lose)

I will fall out of this story-induced fog as soon as the Cards reach the end of the line and then I will continue to hate them as before.

this is my favorite commercial ever:

this month's buzzwords on pinterest are apparently "ombre" and "chevron."
one problem with this commercial is it's a (fudge) Packer running with the bed instead of Andre Johnson.

Seriously, the man is a stud WR, where is his endorsement love?

Where is his Jerry Maguire shouting "

It's got to be the steroids that is killing A-Rod's body at this point.

I dont know why you hate Jeter, but you are correct when you call Jeter one of the best Yankees ever; in my honest opinion, Jeter will go down as THE GREATEST YANKEE EVER.

Yes, Yankees win 5 World Series (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2009) with Jeter as Shortstop since he is also the most clutch hitter in postseason play.  Without Jeter in game 3 of the AL Divisional Series in 2001, they don't even get past Oakland to get to the World Series.

giving you a BOLD; would have been a SMART,  but you had the unfunniest Talk Show Host first, and that alone would have gotten you a PQ. Since Conan isn't very funny, BOLD is all that's because you redeemed yourself with the 2nd photo.
