My vacation has come to an end, I have to go back to work tonight.  Oh well, I guess I've been off long enough.  In a way I'm glad I work because I don't have to watch how many TDs Pitt loses by to the Irish.  Our rescheduled trick or treat is tonight, and I don't have to hand out candy either.  Hey, working tonight is actually a great thing!  Enjoy your weekend everybody!

I'm already thoroughly enjoying the Rasheed Wallace era with the Knicks. It's fun to have a washed up lunatic on your team when there's no hope. I'm all in for the Saints signing Chaz Ocho Johnson or Bryan Cox.

Also since it's BREASTurday, please enjoy the 'new' Maureen Ponderosa and her #Bobcats 2.0

Have a blessed weekend boners.

PEACE

Louisville has climbed the AP poll from being #25 preseason to now being ranked #11.  #L1C4

I need my hockey fixed.  I'm starting my US hockey tour this season and I don't want to have to start cross-checking folks for ruining it before it's even started.

I just slept 10 hours for the first time in months.  I usually get six hours or less.  It felt damn good.  Now I just have to keep one eye on football and one eye on the books.  I'm channeling the energy of CrazyEyes from Mr. Deeds to make that work.

Just got internet back after 48 hours without it.  We had freezing rain and it knocked out one of the major towers that provides services - internet and cell - to all providers in the area.  I'm so sick of people saying my Smartpphone isn't so smart any more.

Need to catch up on stuff.  Have a great Sunday all.

It was actually a Nail-biter for Notre Dame against Pitt, which is good. That will teach a relatively young team not to overlook an easy opponent with your eyes towards a hated rival coming up (USC), and will help Notre Dame focus in on being number 2 in the BCS to go for the National Championship

Smart young man, the only good to come out of this is that Lucas has donated the majority of the money the Evil Mouse paid him to help education.

He (son) is working in camp as a General Helper - 4 weeks out, 2 weeks home, to make as much money as he can.  He wants to go to university to learn computerized special effects.  He is a pretty incredible artist and the re-do of original Star Wars movies is what got him interested.  He knows all kinds of useless trivia about George Lucas and aspires to be like him (his imagination astounds me) so this is like a knife to his heart.

I told him what you said about the education thing and he's looking online to see if somehow there is any $$ available to him to be the next George Lucas ;)

This is simply my opinion on the matter. For me Star Wars 1, 2, and 3 were about the story line. What made Anakin turn to the dark side? What happened that made him make this decision? I was not going to let a retarded character ruin the story for me. I did not enjoy 1, 2, and 3 as much as 4, 5, and 6, but I didn't think they were bad. Lucas knew that Jar-Jar was something people disliked about Star Wars 1, that is why he was barely in 2 and 3. With it being about the story for me, then it ends with 6, there is no more story to tell(for me). Darth is dead, I assume that Leia and Han married, and Luke married. They probably produced more Jedi Knights(Luke probably trained them). But ultimately I don't care, so to make more Star Wars, is purely for money and greed. I am afraid the Evil Mouse will water down the product and make me despise it(much like I do ESPN and the new Muppets). I won't say that I will not see, Star Wars 7, that would be a lie. I may wind up being wrong on the matter, but for me track record with the Evil Mouse is that they will rush to crank out crap, simply to make more money.

The boys are really excited. Excellent opinion.

I hate episode I, and II isn't much better.  I love Episode III, and think it is much better than Episode VI.  I think Hayden Christensen was a poor actor choice, but there are a lot of people who thought/think Mark Hamill was a whiny bitch also.

I read a lot of the expanded universe, some good, some bad.  I don't like the idea of it being a 20 years down the road thing after Jedi because I know a lot of those stories.  I think Disney could do a good job (I liked the Muppets) because from what I've read it will be done by different writers, more fan fiction I guess.

Disney does put out crap, but they have good stuff also.  I will reserve overall judgement until 2015.

Okay, so this from my son.....

when Lucas was writing the original Star Wars movie, he realized that it was much more than one movie, and felt it might take a full three trilogies to tell (3 x 3 trilogies = 9 movies) but the full story ended up being told with the prequels.  We found out everything that needed to be told in the 6 movies - why Annakin went to the Dark Side, how Luke and Leila came to be and how they came to be separated, then re-united.  The story of Annakin, Luke and Leila has been told.  Anything new will essentially be a new story, and George decided he didn't want to tell that story, so he is walking away.

And that would be why I have issues with where episodes 7-9 take place.

And he isn't walking all the way away.  Still going to be a consultant.

Yeah, I don't do any of the spinoffs, maybe that is the bigger problem for me with a Star Wars 7. With the story being over for me, I see it as a spinoff.

Okay, I went by what my son said, and because I needed to see for myself, I checked Wiki.  It's pretty much as he said.  As he was writing the first movie, he realized the "story could take up to nine episodes to tell", BUT after the rest of the episodes (prequels) were written, the story was concluded with 6 episodes.

I don't think that constitutes a plan for 9 episodes, but that's just my opinion.

You may be happy as s**t that the mouse is taking it over, and might be anxious to go see episodes 7-9, but I'm not, and I likely won't bother.  After all, I've never seen a Harry Potter movie and I've never seen a Lord of the Rings movie.

The animated Clone Wars aren't a spinoff for me.  They are more of the story and they fit in the story between episodes 2 and 3.

And I always tend to assume that any change in ownership of the things that i love will result in me wanting to punch someone in the throat until I am proven otherwise.

Remember, George said that he'd wait about 10-15 years after the completion of Episode 6 to film episodes 1-3, and then another 10-15 years to film episodes 7-9 so that the original actors will be old enough to play their roles and young enough to live through the filming.
