Good day, bitches.

Not much to report.

Work is crazy, still.

Going out to a club tomorrow night for a big gay birthday bash.  The last time I went to this particular establishment, my friend Travis got super drunk and pissed at his BF, stormed out on foot, fell in the street, then face-planted in a random field until we found him.  Oh yeah, then he puked in my car.  This is why I never go out.

Apparently some distant cousin of mine is getting hitched and my mom was texting me to ask if I got an invite (which I don't expect/want since I've met her all of twice in my life).  I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and the follow-up text was priceless...

"You didnt get STD from her?  I thought for sure you would have gotten one by now"

indecision

I learned later that, to my mom, STD = Save The Date.

(Edited by anthonyrichardlouisnaught)
Had a very interesting day yesterday at the courthouse trying to turn in my paperwork for my 75 hours of Community Service. What should have been a 10 minute walk-in and drop off turned into an hour and a half runaround. Seems Broward County Clerks office couldn't change the charge from Felony to Misdemeanor 2 in the computer system as per the final disposition of my case and had me all over the courthouse. Then, when I get to the right room, the idiot behind the bulletproof glass tells me the community service forms I was given and had filled out needed to be on letterhead of the place where I did my community service. Then he asks me if I wanted a copy of my final disposition (my original copy got tossed in the garbage by city of fort lauderdale with all my belongings for the 2nd time in a year), and has the nerve to charge me $1 for the copy.

My frustration level got so high, these are my exact words to him, in the presence of lawyers representing their clients: "Are you out of your f*cking mind? I'm homeless, which is why I only have to do the 75 hours of community service and not pay any court fees that you can readily see on the copy of the final disposition you are holding. The fact you idiots couldn't fix it in the computer shows how stupid you all are, as well as incompetent, and it's a wonder no one has ever gotten so frustrated that they didn't go postal in here before."  After spending all day getting done what they said needed to be done, took me all of 6 minutes today to turn in my paperwork. Gee, how simple is that?

Not exactly the smartest words to say in a courthouse where 85% of the security force are members of the Broward's Sheriff's Office. LOL.

On a plus side, tomorrow is the 237th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, so if you see a Marine or know one, shake his/her hand or kiss them on the lips/cheek and thank them for their service. And Sunday is Veteran's Day, so shake the hand of a veteran or kiss him/her on the lips/cheek and again, thank them for their service to this country and all the freedoms they give that you all take for granted.

Morning.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I've been running on fumes all week (my own fault). Pulling a 12 hour at school yesterday didn't help----my turn to stay for the PTA meeting. My PTA kicks ass....so much so that when I saw "Lilly Munster" (THE one parent that will drive me to drink) at the meeting, I didn't get the shakes I usually get when I see her. (The Teach Gods owe me after this year....and I will slap myself if I forget one more time to give her the whole week's homework on Monday.................she has hunted me down 2 Mondays in a row. I will not forget! I will not forget! )

We are writing letters to veterans today. It's a project that I love doing each year.................even though the process of getting all 30 of my kiddos to bust a move on getting them done can leave me yearning for dismissal and some kind of alcoholic beverage. First order of business happened yesterday. They picked the 3 veterans they were going to write to. Hopefully we get them all done today, so I could mail them tomorrow.

It's the Marine Corp birthday tomorrow...............I don't really need a day to think about my dad any more than I already do, but ....This day was drilled into my head at birth, so there you go. Ooh-rah!

I'm still waiting for my free stuff.

Know what else I don't have?

No stupid numbers behind my name,

no qbucks,

no Joe to do my bets to get me qbucks,

no date on a Friday night,

no ice cream because I don't have a date on friday night,

no way in hell of beating Laurel in words with friends,

no baseball,

and that may be it. But, I reserve the right to add to this list at any time during the day. smiley

"Hell Yeah"

Alright now boys and girls we've got another story for you now!
We want to introduce to you another friend of the Bible!

Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah

If I were God there would be no explicit sex on T.V.
Like little Opie eating pie when he made it with Aunt Bea

If I were God thou shall not worship false Billy Idols
And thou shall add the Book Of Flavor Flav to the Bible
Thou shall make fun of Hindus thou shall not make a "Speed 2"
If I were God that's what I'd do Heavens no

Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah

If I were God I'd get a bunch of slaves to do everything
Norwegian lesbians that feed me grapes and know how to sing

If I were God thou shall not wear tube socks with Flip-Flops
Thou shall sit and thou shall spin thou shall even wife swap
Thou shall resist the Olsen Twins, thou shall not cut "Footloose"
If I were God that's what I'd do, Heavens no

Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah
Hell yeah

And when they nail my pimpled ass to the cross
I'll tell them I found Jesus that should throw them off
He goes by the name Jesus and steals hubcaps from cars
Oh Jesus can I borrow your crowbar?
To pry these God d**n nails out they're beginning to hurt
Crucified and all I got was this lousy T-shirt
"I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" I'll sing as I'm flogged
Yeah that's what I would do if I were God
So vote for me for Savior and you'll go to Heaven
Your lame duck Lord is like Kevin Spacey in "Seven"
With creepy threats of H-E-Double-Hockey-Stick
You just can't teach an old God new tricks
But would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem?
If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy?
Just sport some crummy "holier than thou" facade
Yeah that's what I would do if I were God

Kinda like someone saying they have more "class" in their little pinky finger then others.  If you have to go around telling people you have lots of smarticles, you usually don't.

Due to the events of Tuesday, I haven't felt as cynical as usual. I'm trying to keep this feeling going through the holiday weekend., which would make it the longest I haven't felt cynical in quite some time. This may require not reading or seeing anything with the words "Fiscal Cliff" in them.

Other than that, I got nothing. I really need to clean this weekend, and possibly write a cover letter. Such is the thrill a minute life I lead.

And I ate at a Mexican Restaurant tonight.  It's the kind of establishment that I would normally not frequent, or I'd get drug into kicking and screaming (not b/c it's a Mexican restaurant...it is just in a run-down building).  It just looks like the kind of place that will put you on the toilet for the rest of your natural life.  (They did get an  A on their health dept. thingy, so there's that).  I was the only native English speaker in the joint.  And I'm convinced that I have never had a taco until tonight.  Those things at Taco Bell?  Not tacos.  Chi-Chi's?  Nope.  Tumbleweed?  Negative.  I died and went to taco heaven.  No quiero Taco Bell.  And my server understood my horrible spanish.  I wanted to kiss her.

I shake his/her hand, give him/her a hug and a huge Thank You and your family for your service to this great Country...EVERY TIME! Not just on Veterans Day.   My Dad was in the Army...my step-father was a WWII Veteran, was awarded 2 medals of honor, 2 purple hearts and numerous other things...he's mentioned in the book "War From the Ground Up" which he left me his copy of it. A nephew that served in Iran/Iraq..was injured disarming a humvee, saw his best friend killed stepping on a land mine..was released honorably discharged and have a nephew in law whose now serving in the Army.  We are a proud American family and never take for granted the freedoms those awesome Veterans and those still serving risk/risked their lives, paid the ultimate sacrifice and also their families, they gave/give us!

Every single day is a day to show your gratitude to them.

Happy Birthday USMC!!!

no kidding. IMHO, there are 3 days out of the year when Vets should never work AND be paid 3x their normal pay: Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veterans Day.
I most definitely agree!
