THIRD!

Happy Monday Q'ers!

Rams kissed their sister yesterday....did ya hear that Donovan McNabb? It was a TIE!  Rams shot themselves in the foot again....WTF?  80 yard completion nullified because receiver lined up a yard too deep?  Delay of game on GW FG?  All the tie does is serve to screw up EVERYONE's playoff scenarios in the NFC.  Oh well, after the 45-7 drubbing at the hands of the CHEATRIOTS, I guess that it's a moral victory.

Things starting to return to normal at the Jersey Shore, though some are still without power or a place to sleep.  The outpouring of support has renewed faith in humanity.

Have a GREAT week!

One time there was an army camp in India that just received a new commander. During the new commanders first inspection everything checked out except one thing. There was a camel tied to a tree on the edge of the camp. The commander asked what it was for, one of the soldiers who had been stationed there for a while explained to him that the men sometimes get lonely since there where no woman there so they have the camel. The commander just let that go, but after a few weeks he was feeling very lonely so he ordered the men to bring the camel into his tent. The men did, and he went to work on it. After about an hour the commander came out zipped up his pants and said, "So is that how the other men do it?" One of the men responded, "No we usually just use the camel to ride into town."

Texans...yay!! Now that I've gotten that out the way...WTF?!? Mike D'Antoni?!?  It's like taking up smoking cause you heard you would lose weight. Don't get me wrong. His pick-n-roll plays will be a thing of beauty with nash, Howard, Kobe, & Gasol. And he likes to run his offense through his Point Gaurd. Steve Nash. Bingo! But... he don''t stress defense. You know, the stuff that wins Championships? His damn name should be "Mike 'Antoni" (no "D"). The Suns & Knicks routinely give up over 100 ppg.

Robot roll call.. Cambot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, Croooooooow

A few week 10 NFL notes...
*Who honestly didn't see the Saints beating the Falcons? And how about finishing it off with a goalline stand? wow
*Detroit Lions, feel me once shame on you, fool me 6 times shame on me
*PFM has a ho-hum day, still throws for 300, Broncos D came to eat.
*Really 49ers? SOOOOO fortunate to get out of there with a tie
*So Eli Manning keep playing well
*Arian Foster was impressive last night

Let me tell you how awesome my weekend was.............

and now a song to wake you up on a mundane Monday morning.. warning, there is a fantastic mix of screaming and clean vocals

Dance Gavin Dance - And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman

But now you know that I am cold
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)
And now I am found
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)

Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet, down
Without ever letting go I knew you'd gone
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet, down
Without ever letting go I knew you'd gone astray
Stranded here in this cold atmosphere.
Waiting for the lifeless words to come from your mouth
Enduring every sound

This is not why the cast is hollow
Sending the rats to follow
Under the weight of all these eyes
Fry

But now you know that I am cold
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)
And now I am found
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)

I lay without understanding
I don't know why I feel this way
Oh lay down girl take my world
I know why I can't see your face
I've placed every mole there is to place on your wasted body
Oh, lay down girl and take my world
I know why I can't see your face

As the window left shattered now
We saw the withered body try to shout
You thought the price of your life was devout
And told us some things you can't live without
And was this what was best for us
And was this what was best for us

Just let it show (Rest where you ought to be)
(Block out your misery)
I'll bring you far (Wait for the call)
Well I'll go for it (You left in the hallway)
I'll beg you when you know (People they change)
(And I would still be ashamed)
I'll beg you when it shows (To let the weight of the world)
Well I'll go for it (Rest on your shoulders)
Never believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
Never believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
I'll die for you (I'll fight until the war is over)
(I'll fight until the war is over)
Never believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
Never believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
It's staged for you (I'll fight until the war is over)
(I'll fight until the war is over)

Left at my feet rests the soul of my brother
Vengeance will fall for the deeds of another

Throw away the stats!  Did you watch the 2nd half?

First of all, Campbell had 1 pass for about 45 yds, the other 10 completions were for 1-5 yds AND when you are 3rd and 9 and you throw a 4 yd pass, over and over again, you might suck!

Or when you hurry a throw on 3rd down and 10 to pick up 7 yds, when you could of waited and looked for something past the 1st down marker, since you weren't being hurried.......you might suck!

or when you drop back to pass and look at 1 receiver and then quickly throw a screen pass to your RB, who had a defensive guy already in his jock strap and 3 yds behind the line of scrimmage......... YOU MIGHT SUCK!

You have to give the Texans defense a lot of respect, they played great, BUT, KELLEN DAVIS sucked last night, the Bears didn't utilize Forte the way they should of and whether you think CUTLER sucks or not, he's better than any other QB we have and was playing well as of late.....we can't ALWAYS rely on our DEF to win games.......this is what worries me about the road to the SB.

As you can probably guess, I don't really care if you're worried about the road to the Super Bowl.

I also am not sure why you are surprised that after the starting quarterback was worked over by an excellent defense and was then concussed, that the backup quarterback came in and was just as bad. They can't find 32 guys good enough to start in this league. How is any backup going to come in and be worth a damn?

In other news...

Because I'm a lazy shiftless government employee, I have a day off. As I always say in these situations: Don't hate the player, hate the game. Plus, trust me, federal holidays are the only thing I have to look forward to these days.

Unfortunately, the next few involved the contrived BS known as "The Holidays." Blech.

I'm off to treat myself to lunch. Hoping to head downtown, but my sources say Metro is FUBAR'ed yet again. We'll see. Whatever.

Whatever I do tonight, I can guarantee that watching that travesty of a football game is not going to be one of them.

D'Antoni is the interesting hire. Everyone assumes him + Nash = vroom, but this is a team of old people plus a guy with a balky back. Not really the tools to treat an offense like a Ferrari. That said, the defensive issues can be masked a bit with Dwight around. I have no idea if that analysis made any sense at all.

He's (Campbell) been in the league long enough to not play like he did last night.......he looked like a rookie.  Very frustrating.

i don't care, if you care, if I am worried about the road to the Super Bowl or not, I was merely stating my thoughts on the matter....it's called a conversation. wink

I'm not upset or distraught or anything. I never expected them to go unbeaten. And, I'd been saying all week the Saints were going to give us the first L. They had to, on principle. It's fine. I was more surprised that we still almost pulled it out. I'm a bit more comfortable at 8-1.

QMZ Laker watch - On Magic Mike D'antoni: So let me get this straight. You're going to fix the problems of the "Princeton Offense" with "7 seconds or less" and completely ignore (or in this case exacerbate) the defensive inefficiencies of an aging/physically beat up team that has NO bench...

Just what the Doctor (Buss) ordered, huh? Oh no, wait. That's right, Fredo is in charge now. Jeanie probably has plans to have Mitch Kupchak "take him fishing," but just not while daddy is still alive.

Also how long until they panic trade Pau for 60 cents on the dollar for someone they could have picked up via free agency next summer? The clock is officially ticking on this one.

More cheap shots on this situation as it develops.

I swear I wasn't trying to gloat about the win. Before the game, Tim Tebow said something about Centurylink not being as loud as the SEC stadiums. I'm pretty sure we proved him wrong, but he gave me an attitude with that statement.

And they actually gave us a scare early in the game - forced a couple of turnovers (one for a score), made a couple of great stops. I'm glad it didn't work out for them, of course, but obviously they have it in them.

**Godd**nit, I just bought respect for the 2nd time today.  The sky is falling."

And that was my equivalent of "Yes, dear."

Or the penguins' "Smile and wave."

Carry on.

Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

Happy Veteran's Day (after) to you all.    For all you poor folk who are stuck working like me, you have my sympathy.   For all you lucky SOB's who got the day off, I direct you to my celebratory phrase for this coming Saturday (11/17) where we celebrate "Take A Hike Day."

To all who have served, past and present, I sincerely thank you for your service.

Band competition last Saturday, we placed 4th.  Sadly, not trophy for that slot, and even more sadly, there were only 4 in our division.  But this was the first competition for most of our members, and we have a weird show (Our title is "Shattered Realities" where the drum major loses her mind), which might take into account in the scoring, don't know yet, until the director deciphers the judge's comments.   Color Guard took 3rd place though.  A highlight for them.

One more sport related musing:

At one point will people take a look at the evidence at hand and conclude that NASCAR doesn't care about driver safety, or at least doesn't care to the extent that it should?
Is this about the no call for a yellow after Danica, or Jeff?

Why is it every time I hear about Facebook these days it's about people complaining they're friends with racists?
Complaining about 'friends with racists' on FaceBook? C'mon, it's really fun once you get the hang of it.

(Oddly enough, Becky and Kat are REALLY good at it.)

Both, but more the former. Also the other time they let things go with oil on the track, the whole "have it boys" thing, the unwillingness to do anything about pack racing at Daytona and Talladega, and just today the news the Trucks are racing at Eldora next year, which doesn't have SAFER barriers. There's a pattern here.

Also, the penalties for the brawls were a joke, especially Keslowski getting fined for something they trumpeted back in February.
