First??   Yes!

You know, its cool to be the initial troublemaker here in the morning, but what I want is the Top Comment!   That is the cherry on this here Ice cream float of a Poll.

I ate great last night, and it was sooooo fun.
Then the game game on.   Yeah, you know the next word.

Didn't even bother watching the last game - then I heard the facts.  Bye Rex...go win the Super Bowl on Madden 13, cuz you ain't winning JACK in THAT organization any time soon!

Oh, don't freakin' sneak away, Jerry Jones...You and your houseboy Jason Garrett need to git on up outta here also.   We are a viable team that plays like a LAUGHINGSTOCK at HOME...It says PLAIN AS DAY on the Locker Room Doorway before you enter the stadium - "DEFEND YOUR HOME!!" is what it says..I know, I HAVE BEEN THERE - I SEENT IT!!
So freakin' disappointing.  On the Other hand...RG3 is the truth.

Good day after thanksgiving! Hope everyone had a fabulous day, food, and festivities! I went on Tuesday to pick up another puppy! I rescues a golden retriever/yellow lab puppy. She is 2 weeks younger than my Shih tzus, but twice the size! I was glad we were able to have her home in time for the holidays!

Happy Black Friday all.  We don't have Black Friday, although I see they are trying to implement a form of it back east in Toronto, to keep people from crossing the border for sales.

Here we just have Alberta 5 minutes away, with no Provincial Sales Tax.

And Debbie, congrats on the new puppy. I am still so not ready yet.  I think of my Scooby every morning when I wake up and pour myself a cup of coffee.  I still expect to see him.  Our shelter has a collie X that has just had puppies.  They are trying to convince me we should take her home once she has weened the pups and been spayed.  Part of me wants a puppy again, but I am told by the operator of the shelter that she and I would be a perfect fit.  We'll see.

Going back to work today.  The eucalyptus seems to have worked its magic and my face doesn't ache as much.

Hope everyone has a great day and has a successful black Friday shopping experience, if that's what you're up to.

Oh yeah, and how 'bout them Redskins?????

Having a 6 yr old son, helped us decide to go ahead and get the puppy(s). I still talk to Jen-Jen, and miss her terribly. I tell her she was NOT replaced. My son even says he misses her, with a tear in his eye...  Time helps heal all wounds, some just take laonget than others. You will get that tug on your heart strings that a certain puppy, in time, will fulfill...

Morning, Everybodee!

Stuck working in the office 'til who knows when.   Our technicians are working today, hopefully at a downtown installation, provided the building is open.  Receptionist is off today, as is my manager, but he is still pulling the strings by phone.  (If you're taking the day off, turn your phone off.)   Even our corporate office is closed today.    Well, hopefully it will be a quiet one, so I can goof off  catch up on some paperwork.

You're thinking of this thing.

The Host (2006)

It's the supremely underrated Korean one, not the one coming out next year which is totally different, but still sounds pretty cool.

I just have saw this, I believe thanks to Laurel!

There is a Huge difference between these two symbols. Mayan calendar counts time by days from one day, month, year to billion and billions of years. They have well over 20 calendars, including the Long Count Calendar which ends the 13th baktun period that started August 11, 3113 BC on December 21, 2012. Again, the current 13 baktun cycle ends on December 21, 2012. However, the new found 17 baktun
cycle extends the Maya time line for an additional 1,124 years to the year 3,136 AD. You should note that the dates on certain monuments extend farther into the future, such as the inscription at the site of Pakal’s tomb at Palenque. Pakal’s tomb is inscribed with his birth date plus 20 baktuns to the date of October 13, 4772 AD, which indicates that the Maya had all intention of extending time far into the future. The Mayans were the most advanced in mathematics and astronomy of all the MesoAmerican cultures. All the other cultures borrowed from them. Aztec stone is not a calendar, it is a symbol describing the periods of the 7 suns. There is no time or date associated with the Aztec stone, it is all symbolic. With the Mayans, however, everything is calculated down to days etc., and theirs is the most complex, intricate, meaningful, accurate, interconnected, cosmic, solar, Venus, astrological, outward looking, prophetic calendar ever designed by man.

As you all know or have figured out, I don't think much of the holiday season. Reason One for that in chronological order is that after Thanksgiving, a day allegedly for family and being grateful and such, we have Black Friday, which is about bald faced consumerism and running people over for cheap crap. Making it worse this year is the various big box marts that turned it into Black Thursday. The *bleep* you towards the American worker continues.

Being home means finally having someone to play Jeopardy against. It's been me vs. my stepfather vs. his father the last two nights. I won Wednesday night in a lock, and my stepfather came back from 3rd place last night after being the only one to get Final Jeopardy right (I was ahead going in). Tonight is the rubber match.

I was actually smiling during the 2nd half of the game just watching the Redskins kick my Boys A**...I hope this tells Jones that changes really need to be made unless he wants to continue to be among the worse teams in the NFL next season.  I will never give up on the Boys but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a few other teams while I wait....

Dee - I swear I have no idea what you're talking about.

Thanksgiving was awesome...I had sweet potato pie for the first time and 'twas absolutely amazing. I love pumpkin, but I think sweet potato stole me away. I still have yet to touch the cherry pie, but as soon as I'm not full anymore (yes, I'm still full from yesterday) I'm going to destroy that thing. My husband thought he'd be cute when he vented the top crust and make a headdress out of the feather shaped vents and the dough he cut out. So he made a grooved native american face attached...silly guy.

Almost all of our decorations are up - he's got to do the back side of the house and our sledding penguins are still on their way.

I'm watching the Psych marathon I recorded all day yesterday. So happy.
Give me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick, I'm in a g*dd*mn hurry.

Making a pot of spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight.  It's a big one.  I will freeze the extra.  Gonna add in a tub of marscapone.  Mm mm.

Turkey day tomorrow, have my helpers!   Rachel is in charge of pies, gravy and mashed potatos.  I have green bean casserole,
the turkey, stuffing and sweet potatos.  Joel gets to take out the garbage and keep the kitchen floor/countertops clean.
Rob has to pay for it all.   Good deal for me.

I have been to the grocery store 4 times today.  Best day to shop, everyone else is getting their credit cards smoked at the mall.

We are supposed to go visit friends tonight.  Not really feeling it.  There WILL be drinking and I don't wanna have to drive.  Really need to teach Rachel how to drive a stick.  If you can't find a DD, grow one of your own. cheeky

Happy Black Friday everyone!

Turkey was great....ate too much.  Wasn't gonna go out shopping for Black Friday, but wife had ordered a Christmas tree for her mom online, so I had to go to Lowes to pick it up.  While there, saw a portable compressor on sale for $50....half price black Friday deal.  Since both brothers in law lost their compressors in Hurricane Sandy, and I have to blow out my sprinkler lines, it was a perfect way to spend $50.

Took a road trip up to Easton PA and Phillipsburg, NJ (1.5 hours away).  Stopped at beer distributor to buy some local, Allentown PA based soda (pop for some of you in certain areas of the country) when I saw this....

When I was in college, the commercial said "You can't pump an iron too far away from Pittsburgh PA"...considering that Easton PA is about 300-350 miles from Pittsburgh, I think they should change their commercial.  Anywho, I bought a case and now get to taste the swill beer I drank in college.  Actually, I had a few over the summer and it really wasn't as bad as i remembered.  We also made our annual "hot dog run".  Tiny place in Phillipsburg NJ called Toby's Cup...hot dogs cooked in oil....pickle, mustard and raw onions...all for $1.10 apiece (they used to be $.45 ).  We bought 90 of em to distibute to wife's family (who grew up on them).  No turkey for me today!

Have a GREAT weekend!  Go Rams!

The WSU Cougs just snapped their 8-game losing streak. They beat the #25 ranked Huskies 31-28 in OT after being down by a LOT in the 3rd quarter at the Apple Cup...the fans rushed the field like it was a BCS Championship. Crazy. I love it. SO worth the Psych pause.
Give me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick, I'm in a g*dd*mn hurry.

Ok, everyone.  Snap out of your tryptophan-induced comas and get to the movie theater and see Lincoln.  You will not regret it!

RG III is indeed the real deal, he is amazing.

BTW.. Anyone besides me already sick of Turkey?...
*Raises one hand; would try to raise both hands and jump up and down, but  that would require way too much energy for me at the moment.

So happy.
Bet you are happier doing that than watching the Dolphins beat the Seahawks yesterday, huh? How the hell did that happen, anyway?
