Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Hi.

Getting in your car and hearing Hit Em Up first is quite motivational. Ready for what, idk, but I was.

Sad day for Kings fans. Long time game announcer (also the game announcer for the Clippers and Angels), David Courtney died yesterday. If they ever get back to playing, games won't be the same. He was awesome. frown

I always wanted to be her.  Having a bionic ear would be awesome.

Someone tried unsuccessfully to steal my car overnight.  I don't know what stopped them from driving off.  Maybe they couldn't
drive a stick?cheeky   BUT, I have a broken window regulator, broken door handle and the window is stuck half down.  I have it backed in the driveway with a black garbage bag over the window to keep the cats/rain out.  Can't get it fixed until the parts come in Monday or Tuesday.   Of course, I have to drive the girls to Jupiter tonight so I can go out to see a bluegrass band we have tickets for.  It's at a private house on the island.   ALWAYS somethin.

Three couples—one elderly, one middle-aged, one young and newly wed—apply for membership in a church. The pastor informs them that the requirement for new parishioners is that they abstain from sex for two weeks. The couples agree and go their separate ways.

After two weeks, they return. The pastor asks the elderly pair if they were able to abstain for two weeks. "No problem at all, Pastor," replies the old man.

"Congratulations!" says the pastor. "Welcome to the church." He turns to the middle-aged couple and asks if they were able to abstain for two weeks. "It was difficult," replies the husband. "By the end of the second week, I had to sleep on the couch, but we did it."

"Congratulations on overcoming temptation," says the pastor. "Welcome to the church." He then turns to the newlyweds and asks if they were able to abstain for two weeks.

"At first it was no problem," says the husband. "But one day my wife was reaching for a can of corn on the top shelf, and she dropped it. When she bent over to pick it up, I was overcome with lust and took advantage of her right there."

"You understand, of course, that this means you will not be welcome in our church," says the pastor.

"We know," says the young man. "We’re not welcome at the supermarket anymore either."

I'm not allowed to watch it when Trever's on duty though. I freak myself out.

Speaking of freaking out - I had a mini-heart attack just a few minutes ago. My husband went to the store, and just after he left the house I heard someone rummaging around in our garage. Trever was making the run for someone else, so I was surprised he would stick around for as long as that after committing to go, so I started wondering...and I thought I heard the truck leave. I kept hearing it - someone messing around with stuff in our garage, in the pantry (there's a supernatural story here too that I won't bore you with, just know that there's *something* else in there and has been since we moved here, which added to the heart attack I had). So I got up and opened the door to the garage, and I scared about 7 blackbirds that were right by the door - they flew out of my garage. Not even kidding - the minute the wings started flapping, I slammed the door. Then I peeked out again and hit the button to close the garage door to keep them out. I just now stopped shaking.

Back to work.

i remembered last night why i am not much of a basketball fan (i'm working on it though!). the nuggs and the somebodies. what the h? the refs in the last 5 minutes were redonk. don't get me wrong. i have a special place in my heart for denver and the reasons are twofold: yes. their new uniforms . any match up with them at home sounds awesome - thunder nuggets, hawk nuggets, heat nuggets, raptor nuggets....but those refs hosed that poor other team even after reviews. yucky.

the guy i am going ass-over-teakettle for made me cry last night. i got the old "it's like you've got a missing sense of reality" thing again. f**kin older guys, man. i'm sorry i can't tell you whose face is on the $1 bill. i just don't care. and i never carry cash. he says i'm either the most free-spirited person he's ever known....or a spy. for the record, i also don't know dog breeds outside of chihuahuas, daschaunds, great danes and cliffords. and i don't know who ricky rubio is. i just found out from live at daryl's that cee-lo green is gnarles barkley. there's just some crap i don't care enough about to file it in my noggin. he's being very nice to me today.

Ricky Rubio is in the new foot locker commercial. he's foreign (ish).
I have about six $2 bills in my purse and I don't know what's on them at all besides the "$2".
gnarls barkley is Cee-lo and Danger Mouse.
Is a clifford a breed?! I just thought it was a big red dog... didn't know there were others. I have learnt!

that's the only place i know him from. but it makes me feel like i am dumb. and i think it's bad to insult potential clients.
thank you for the $2 support :)
so there's a danger mouse, a modest mouse and a dead mouse now. oh my god! super group - three blind mice. it needs to happen.
i classify large non-dane-dogs into different colored cliffords. it's just easier that way.

Ash/Leigh (see what I did there?) what I believe you are talking about is 'The Gentleman's Dilemma.' Having a thing for crazy(ish) younger women, then not being able to understand why she doesn't understand wtf you're talking aboot or referencing half the time. I need to have a podcast (The Pervist?) or blog (AgeInappropriateAficionado.blogspot.com) or something addressing these issues before they escalate into deal-breakers.

Today in I'm Doing It Wrong- I scheduled my next cardiology appointment for the 13th. In the interim:
  • This weekend I have company. Much alcohol and bad food will likely be consumed.
  • The 4th is the Holiday Potluck at work
  • The 6th is a lunch outing at work for a co-worker's birthday
  • The afternoon of the 10th my father comes down for a meeting and will have lunch with me, which usually means Five Guys
  • The evening of the 10th I'm going to a beer tasting
Long story short, on the 13th I will be receiving a prescription for Lipitor.

Meanwhile, today in Always Remember I'm a Pretentious Jerk, I purchased my winter reading yesterday. It was of course this, this, and this.

Awwww.  Nothin' but props today for Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville's qback.  Kid is made of pure grit and determination to play with a broken wrist and a sprained ankle and still have the laser focus to win a ball game it looked like we had no chance of winning.  We will either be going to the Orange Bowl or the Sugar Bowl.  And my q-husband's team is going to the national championship.  It's a good football year to be in this q-marriage.

And my coach.  I love him more than words can say.  I'll save that for another day.
