Apparently, a KC Chiefs player has been involved in a murder-suicide today.  His name has not been released as of yet.

Top 3!

If Pitt beats South Florida today, the Backyard Brawl will live on at the Yankee Stadium Bowl in all likelihood.  The conference realignment is going haywire!  Sis, did you tell Louisville to follow us to the ACC so you could still see Jamie Dixon?  I think I'm gonna put up my tree today.  It's December 1st and it's supposed to be close to 60 degrees here today, that's crazy but I love it!

Bro, Jamie Dixon played a small role in me cheering for that move.  It's good on SO many levels:  The ACC is a strong basketball league--maybe not the powerhouse league the Big East was, but damn close.  The football program has gotten a huge boost.  The move will increase recruiting for all sports across the board.  The revenue for university is more than it ever would have been in the Big East.  And it will add value to my degree, and the degrees of all U of L alum, over time.

I cannot say enough good about the President of our university, James Ramsey, and our AD, Tom Jurich.  This afternoon, our men's soccer team plays in an elite 8 matchup.  It truly is great to be a Louisville Cardinal these days.

The Chiefs player is Jovan Belcher.  He apparently committed suicide at a team facility.

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped centimeters from a shop window.

For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, "Look mate, don't ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!" The passenger apologized and said, "I didn't realize that a little tap would scare you so much. "The driver replied, "Sorry, it's not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver. I've been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years."

I think my next dream should include me, Elisha, and Kaley.  As long as that's ok with my qhusband, of course.

My heart goes out to the Chiefs, that's very sad.

There was an internet rumor that they mentioned on local news last night about a Pirates trade.  The rumor said they were going to trade Joel Hanrahan to the Dodgers for Chris Capuano.  If that happens I want to see Nutting lynched!

Sis, the ACC is going to be one of the best in basketball, the Big East is taking a giant step backwards.  They're now losing Pitt, Louisville, and Syracuse, and replacing them with...UCF and ECU?

I am waiting to see just how good the ACC will be in basketball.  There for a while, the Big East was the standard of awesomeness.  The Big East is looking more and more like a mid-major, specifically Conference USA, every day.

And just so I don't bomb my own thread:

The Belcher story just gets worse.  I hadn't heard until just now that he and his girlfriend had a 3-month-old baby.  I pray that either someone in the family can raise that baby or that he/she is put up for adoption so the baby grows up with a loving family.  If I was Romeo Crenel, I'd be traumatized for life.

My nerdy ass sat at home tonight and completed my History of Europe assignment, which was making three discussion board posts about Thomas More's Utopia.  I am proud to say that the assignment is completed and I have two finals left to take this week.
And that makes me about 10 kinds of happy.

Sitting here this morning with my door and windows open, listening to it rain.  It's so weird for it to be so mild this time of year and for a December rain not to be a cold December rain.  I may be passed out asleep before it's all said and done.

Afternoon!  Into the 70's here... ahhh, so nice, windows open, getting fresh air, Divine!

Last night we were in the Christmas Parade, that went well. today I am finishing addressing 100+ Christmas cards for clients, family, and friends. If this doesn't help the post office, I don't know what will!
Hubby is down visiting mom for last time. She is at hospital. SHe was found on her floor after a few days, seizing. She already has a plate in her head. If they remove her from the anti seize meds, just starts seizing immediately. She also has signed DNR, so HUbby is saying last goodbyes, and straightening everything up. Hospital did not know about DNR. They have had a very tumultuous relationship, but certainly doesn't make this any easier....  She has her hubby waiting on the other side for her....

1 out of 2 is hot for me here (Elisha Cuthbert does it to me all the time).

Yeah, some retard posted on FB yesterday that the player was a P*ssy for what he did; when people suffer from depression, are a pro-football player who gets paid to internalize the pain to play and get harrassed for bringing up emotional issues that may hinder your judgement otherwise, and then do what he did and have his conscience come to the forefront when he realized the depths of the horror that he did to his baby's mother/soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend, and decided to take his own life, all I can say is this: where is the compassion for a person who was troubled and didn't know how to ask for help without it making him look like a p*ssy?

Capuano has had 2 good seasons in a row (pitched very well for bad Mets team 2 seasons ago, was 2nd best pitcher in LA behind Kershaw last year), Pirates are looking to shore up rotation--I'd be happy. with Burnett, McDonald, Correia, and Capuano, not a bad foursome to have in your rotation.

You're wrong.  Capuano only looks good when batters are stupid enough to swing at all his junk dirt balls, which he throws a ton of. Good teams that can hit and aren't so free-swinging can easily beat him.  Correia is also as good as gone.  Even if they do want him, which I think is a mistake, you damn sure don't trade your all-star closer because then you have no back end of your bullpen...and no, Grilli is not the answer.  If they still had Brad Lincoln it MIGHT be worth the gamble, but they don't so this better stay just a rumor.
