My answer choice makes me giggly and somewhat apprehensive.  Baby steps.

Happy Friday.. so far.
Flounder gave us a scare and almost didn't leave last night.  Then.
Started talking about paying us back.
PAY IT FORWARD say I.

I get to bake 172 pieces of cookie products for the Holiday party for my boss.
Put them in tiny little paper cups and decorate the platters.   All in the next 2 1/2 hours, while the old
lady talks and talks and talks..........

Gotta get crackin.

Holiday party at 12:30pm....time to get motivated!   Enjoy your day and weekend!

Here's a fun idea!

1) Fill a bowl with Gummy Bears
2) Add your favorite alcohol
3) Place in the fridge for 1 hour
4) Gummy Bears will absorb the alcohol
5) Eat the Gummy Bears
6) Get drunk   smiley

Morning, Everybodee!

Happy Friday.

Superspy
Just the other day
I was walking by myself
Little kids at play
Old man talking to himself
I went outside to get a drink
Sat down by the door to think
Out of the corner of my eye
Caught a glimpse of the superspy
When he saw me look his way
He jumped down that alley way

Then I saw that man
In his black suit and cadillac
Suckin' on a lollipop

Next night I went on a date
Runnin' to the movies late
I recognize that coat and hat
Puffin' on a cigarette
Cruisin' my house
Buggin' my phone
When will I be left alone?

Why's he followin' me?
Everywhere I go
Superspy blow

Then I saw that man
In his black suit and cadillac
Why's he following me?
Everywhere I go
Superspy I see
Whoa, I see
Whoa, I see
Row, row, row your boat...

Got our butts handed to us in hockey last night, and to make things even better, I wore one slapshot of my inner thigh and one off the back of my calf.  You know when you wake up in the middle of the night with a cramp? Yeah that's how my leg feels nonstop right now

On the bright side of things, I'm going to see a little minor league hockey tonight.  There's a local charity that is built on assisting area adult hockey players in times of need and a friend of mine is the reason for their latest fundraising project.  So we've sold a bunch of tickets, received a lot of donations and hopefully can help Shawn out with some hefty medical expenses.

That's about all I have for now I suppose.  Keep those livers in shape you lushes

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope the weekend is good.  My parents, whom I haven't seen in 2 years, are coming to visit tomorrow.  They flew into NY Monday and are spending time with my sister in Boston.  They're coming down tomorrow, then Sunday going to brother's near AC, then to frineds in PA, then to other brother in North NJ...then back to Boston for Christmas before leaving on the 27th.

Little funny for today...

Have a GREAT WEEKEND!

There are so many of these  it makes me want to

A modern-day warrior
Mean mean stride,
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean mean pride.

Though his mind is not for rent,
Don't put him down as arrogant.
His reserve, a quiet defense,
Riding out the day's events.
The river

And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift.

The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his eyes are wide.

Today's Tom Sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the space he invades
He gets by on you.

No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government.
Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes aren't permanent,
But change is.

And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the witness, catch the wit,
Catch the spirit, catch the spit.

The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his skies are wide.

Exit the warrior,
Today's Tom Sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the energy you trade,
He gets right on to the friction of the day.

Hello out there in FanIQ Land, and TGIF!  Today starts the 12 days of Christmas.  I'm off work and am going to START my Christmas shopping this afternoon.  Yes I'm that far behind, I just have no clue what to buy for people.  I think a lot of people might be getting scratch off lottery tickets or gift cards.  My boss tried to schedule me for 3:30 on New Year's Day...the extra pay is nice but oh no you don't.  I'm sorry, but family is at my place that day, there's no way in hell I'm working.  You could've put me on for Thanksgiving or maybe Christmas morning, but I'll be out partying New Year's Eve and plan on being home with my friends and family the following day.  I got one of the other supervisors to take it for me who said she doesn't do anything on New Year's anyway.  Have a great weekend, and enjoy a cool Christmas song...

Capital Lights: His Favorite Christmas Story

He met her up in Delaware in 1937She was wearing red lipstick to match her pretty dressDecember 24th at a quarter till eleven is when he finally gained the courage to ask her to dance
It was the night before Christmas, it was love at first sightThe carolers sang as they danced through the nightShe was a small town girl, he was a traveling guyHe never caught her name before they said their goodbyes
A couple years later he was out on the roadHaving Christmas dinner in a diner aloneWhen he saw a young waitress with a gleam in her eyeHer favorite day of the year she showed her spirits were highShe said sir can you shed a little holiday cheerA simple Christmas story was all she wanted to hearHe looked prepared with a smile as he started to say here's my favorite Christmas story about a girl with no name
He said I met her up in Delaware in 1937She was wearing red lipstick to match her pretty dressDecember 24th at a quarter till eleven is when I finally gained the courage to ask her to dance
Every holiday season as he traveled he'd tell about his Christmas dance partner that he never knew wellHe'd share his favorite story with the locals he metHe was called the Christmas story telling traveling man
By age 53 he had done settled downAll the neighborhood kids liked to gather aroundJust to listen to his stories about his life on the roadAll he had now were these children he toldAnd every Christmas eve they showed up before darkHe'd tell them all the story but they knew it by heartThey could quote it word for word, he always told it the sameIt was his favorite Christmas story called the girl with no name
He said I met her up in Delaware in 1937She was wearing red lipstick to match her pretty dressDecember 24th at a quarter till eleven is when I finally gained the courage to ask her to dance
Twenty years later as he took his last breathIt was on a cold Christmas morning on a hospital bedThe children were grown, he had nobody leftExcept the little old nurse who was holding his handHe said Ma'am can you share a little holiday cheerA simple Christmas story was all he wanted to hearBut his eyes filled with tears at the words that she spokeBecause his favorite Christmas story was the one that she told
She said I met him up in Delaware in 1937Though I never caught his name he was a traveling manDecember 24th at a quarter till elevenI'm so glad he got the courage to ask me to dance

Whatup?
I have very little to share today (but a massive hangover). Went to the movies yesterday with the wife. I wanted to see "End of Watch" ...which means I saw "Life of Pi"...and just between us, I loved it! I don't know if it was my alcohol induced state or not, but the movie is a visual wonder (yeah, it was the booze). Next movie I go to Imma have a bag full of Nick's Gummy Bears. Brilliant!!  Anyway...
I was gonna go off on that dipshidiot Rob Parker at ESPN, but A) they did the right thing and suspended his ass and B) this Conneticut shootong trumps anything else going right now. Sad...Kids? Really? There is a special wing of Hell constructed just for you.
Have a good weekend Fam.

*Censored rant on guns, gun control, how nothing will ever be done about it, the BS of "not politicizing a tragedy," the BS of "not talking about it now," our incompetent and bloodthirsty media, the complete pointlessness of the phrase "thoughts and prayers," and whatever else comes to mind* *Bleep* *Bleep *Bleep*

Is there any good left in the world? I'm not talking about little "someone helps old lady across the street" or "people donating canned foods" stuff. I'm talking in the big, macro, overarching scheme of things. This is a serious question.

i have to believe that there is. I will not lose faith in mankind, i won't become hopeless..in my opinion, there is no such thing as a small kindness...every can feeds and sustains, every jacket warms, and the most grand good...our fighting forces, folks who don't know me, but fight and sometimes give their lives so i can continue to enjoy my freedoms.....this is such a tragedy, i can not even imagine all those poor babies and their parents....seriously breaks my heart...i know tonight, i will hug my boys a little tighter, say an extra prayer...i am not ready to give up

I don't really want to say too much, so I'm going to let this speak for me.

I can't imagine what parents are going through right now. What I do know is that whatever low percentage I might change my mind about having children is gone. I couldn't possibly bring someone else into this *bleeped* up world unless things change (which they won't). I barely want to live in it myself right now.

Yes, it does get more effed up.  Dude killed his mother at home...first they said at brothers home, then they said at her home...he drives to the school with 3 guns, walks in and opens fire killing 20 children and 7 adults. Now they're saying HE was wearing a bullet proof vest (which they may have said yesterday but my mind was boggled on WHY LITTLE CHILDREN???) He killed himself??  was what was told.  His girlfriend and another (girl I assume), is missing...brother and father arrested (so the media states)  At one time yesterday evening, the media said he killed a brother, his mother then went to the school.

My heart is still breaking for these families who lost their precious children.  I wish I could just hug, hold and comfort the parents of all those 20 babies.

For whatever reason...we may know and then we may never know.  What I do know is Guns don't kill people, people do.

And we worry about terrorists??

the true terrorists are the NRA who scream about the need for guns. Only thing missing from this story is some right-wing nutjob saying:

(edited to finish the word ONLY...I had typed on...sheesh) I can't get this horrible tragedy off my mind!

Watched some of it on CNN a bit ago...the guy had some type mental illness and the physchologist/physchiatrist said his brain more or less crashed.

Obama is pushing a bill on automatic weapons and I agree with that, but not taking our right to bear arms from us.  We have the right to protect ourselves and/or our family.  If someone breaks in my front door, I should be able to protect myself and we have that protection.  Automatic weapons are a total different story.  Those should be used only by our Military and Police and Police need to undergo a mental evaluation regularly.  JMO

That's enough with the politics. Anthony, do you have no sympathy at all??  20 BABIES...5 to 8 yrs old gunned down like nothing!  Those children that seen it, saw their little friends and teachers shot...asking their parents about them and they're dead but parents just can't tell them that yet!  It is heart breaking to say the least!!  broken heart  crying

LOVE the Disney guard and the police with the blind kid.  I think people mostly will find what they are looking for in life.  The good is out there.  And in order for it to truly be effective, I don't think the good needs to be done on a large scale.  The good is at it's best when it is done quietly and on an individual level.  That's how good relationships are made.

I have to believe there is too Jen.  I agree with everything you said.  We can't lose faith in mankind...that would just be giving up and I'm not giving up nor ready to give up either.Tho I don't have children, I do have great nieces...2 are 5, 1 is 4 and the 4 and one 5 yr old live in El Paso.  They're who I thought about immediately and called my sister not knowing where this took place (I'd been shopping and walked in the door seeing it on news)  They're coming home Christmas and I can't wait to see them, give them extra big hugs and will be sad when they leave. I haven't left the house today but we go to friends on Sunday to watch football games and cook.  The children are there and will get a bigger hug than usual tomorrow.

Definitely been saying lots of extra prayers.
