I love when the filter is early!

Just a normal day.  Whatever that is.

I don't get my kids until next Monday, so Christmas is a part two type thing.
Looking forward to the after sales.

Off to work...

Good morning.  (it took me 4 times to type that because of errors)

It's over!   I am so ready to go back to my normal routine.  The girls and I went to my mom's for dinner where she invited about 25 of her neighbors, we had no idea who these people were. Lunch was supposed to be at 2 the prime rib finally got done at 4:30, katie had to be the bartender, janie had to be the beck and call girl for my mom. So, basically we were the hired help(i was on animal patrol).  It sucked, I found a corner and hid in it. We ate and told her we had to go cause our dogs needed let out. Never again. angry

Good Morning All - I am sure every one had a merry day yesterday- full of gifts, spirits and basketball- I gut my usual lump of coal- what did you get?
#5 | 478 days ago

fantastic 2 days.   it's all about kids having fun and Molly didn't disappoint.   of course "papa pedro" and "gamma" spoiled her. every time a gift was produced (no matter who it was for)   molly would let everyone know  "MORE SANTA PAPA, MORE SANTA" in that childish way of expressing total wonderment and happiness.    I love her dearly.    i'm hoping that any of our Q-mates who live in the storm hit areas are well and getting back to normal.   that is all.  great day to everyone.

Ain't nothin' gonna to break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh-no
I got to keep on movin'
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh-no, I got to keep on movin'
(over and over and over)
Hope you all are doing fantastically.....

Leftovers are awesome

Lucky 7

Morning Q'ers! Welcome to the Wednesday that feels like Monday!  I am working every day until next Monday (New Year's Eve).  I normally go to the nursing home on Tuesday, but figger I'll be too hungover on Tuesday, so I'll go Sunday morning.

No real holiday drama this year, cept for father in law getting upset due to my wife getting a little aggravated because he kept getting in her way...he tries to help, but things are his way or the highway...so...it's a little touchy at times.

Here's today's pic...

Have a great short week!!!

I hope all of you had a peaceful and Merry Christmas!   HAPPY BOXING DAY, CANADA!

Back to work for me.

Heard this on the radio yesterday........ I haven't heard this song in a longgggggg time! yes

Watch me here

I've got the power, hey, yeah, hey

Like the crack of the whip, I snap attack
Front to back in this thing called rap
Dig it like a shovel, rhyme Devil on a Heavenly level
Bang the bass, turn up the treble

Radical mind day and night all the time
Seven, fourteen, wise, divine
Maniac, brainiac, winning the game
I'm the lyrical Jesse James

Oh, yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, gettin' kinda heavy
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda heavy

(I've got the power)
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
(I've got the power, oh, oh, oh)

(I've got the power)
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
(I've got the power, oh, oh, oh)

It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's getting', it's getting', it's gettin' kinda hectic

Quality, I possess something, I'm fresh
When my voice goes through the rest
Of the microphone that I am holdin'
Copy written lyrics so they can't be stolen

If they are snap
Don't need the police to try to save them
Your voice will sink, so please, stay off my back
Or I will attack and you don't want that

(I've got the power)
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
(I've got the power, oh, oh, oh)

Hello people out there in Merry Q Land and Happy Boxing Day!

This 3 day week is usually our slowest week of the year and I'm more than ok with that.  But we really haven't had a slow time all year so who knows how this will really play out.  I really could use some time to play catch up and get organized and on the ball for the new year.

WJHC have started in Mother Russia.  I got to watch parts of the Canada game early this morning, the Russia-SLovakia has been entertaining, and am looking forward to team USA here in about 20 minutes (got sidetracked so they are already underway and now down 1-0 early  ugh).  If I can't have my NHL, at least I have this holiday tradition

Christmas wasn't too bad, and my ladyfriend has quite a talent for baked goods so that made my stomach happy

I went and watched Killing Them Softly on Saturday morning and I actually enjoyed it.  Surprisingly enough, I went and saw Jack Reacher yesterday and enjoyed that even more.  I'm considering starting a quick film critics corner thing on here, but like all of my other ideas time becomes a factor.  I do have Movie Pass so I can see unlimited movies a month for a flat monthly fee.. I'm trying to take advantage of this.

Broncos game on Sunday was fandamntastic as I wrote somewhere on here the other day.  When things get nuts in a football stadium, there's not much that compares to it.  But I always tend to forget just how broken up the flow of an NFL game is because of TV until you're sitting there shooting the sh*t with the people around you for 20 minutes because someone scored a touchdown.. then they have to take a break after the PAT.. Then a 10 second touchback followed by another TV timeout.. Then an injury on the first play so another timeout.  It's a good thing I was drinking a lot

Anyway, have a good day

After watching the NBA action on Christmas Day, I just wanted to say thank you to Commisioner David Stern for having ref's that allow more hard hitting action than Roger Goodell's league of softie's!  Whether it was the elbow from Metta World Peace to Steve Novak that would have been the UFC's knockout of the night, or the game of the night between Miami/OKC where the ref's basically sat down and watched both teams beat the crap out of each other for 4 quarters.  I loved it and hope for New Year's you send the dvd's to NFL headquarters, so that they get back to football instead of the equivalent of Green Peace's company softball game.

Despite myself, I somewhat enjoyed myself this Xmas. Most of that comes from just seeing my sisters, but I saw my paternal grandparents yesterday morning for breakfast, which was good. In the end though, I still can't stand the hype and other BS around this whole thing. Plus I don't like doing things because society and convention dictate it. Screw that.

The other thing that bothered me was the obvious judging of me by my stepfather's parents. I heard a lot of "how you feel about the holidays is a choice." Well, my choice is that they are fake and don't make up for the other 364 days we all treat each other like garbage in this country. However, I also decide that the wants and needs of my little sisters trump what I think at this point.

I came back to DC yesterday due to impending weather, which was a good decision. What was snow this morning is now cold rain, which is the worst. I went out for lunch, hoping then to do errands. It was so windy and rainy and cold that the errands weren't happening. Ugh.

Wow, and here I thought most people got over that line of thinking that trying to do something about head injuries* equals "wussifying" football somehow.

* Not that I think Goodell cares in any way other than to avoid lawsuits, but clearly something has to change unless we all just decide we don't care about these people's health, which is sad to think but probably true.

I am a former offensive lineman who played high school and lower division college at a playing stats of 6'1" 300. I am all for player safety, however make it at least halfway apparent that your thinking of all players not just the qb's safety.  The Seahawk player who hit Vernon Davis sunday night should never have been given a personal foul penalty.  What's next?  Torry Smith got a concussion when he fell after a catch untouched and hit his head on the field.    I was watching one game yesterday in the NBA when a guy went up to dunk an alley oop, he was literally tackeled in mid air and even the announcer said, "That would have been a penalty+fine for hitting a defenseless player in the NFL."    The player didn't even get called for a foul.

I have no idea why you felt the need to say you played football before unless this is the old "you can only comment on football if you've played football" canard. I also don't know why what the NBA does (a game not exactly known for consistent officiating) has any bearing on what the NFL does.

In the end, I understand certain things can't be legislated, and the refs will get some things wrong due to the speed of the game, and frankly, that doesn't bother me. A few extra 15 yard penalties isn't going to ruin the game or "sissify" it (that word could be a whole separate discussion). Nobody wanting to provide the labor needed for football for fear of having a scrambled brain afterward will ruin the game.

I'm in a mood today. Must be the weather.

Also, never thank Stern for anything. He's a shorter lumpier Goddell. Some refs are just better than others, nothing to do with his dumb ass.

This Christmas is now one of my fave Christmas movies. It probably was last year too.

Lakers are .500... that's something I suppose.

I am shaking my fist at this sad winter storm we were supposed to get.  We were due 1-3 inches.  If we got one, it's an anemic one.  Not that far north of here, they got 11 inches.  I'd like to get 11 inches.  Of snow.

Thus I must now show everyone the song my sisters showed me that now won't leave my head.

1.  Got my new TV set up for football the other day and I have to say the picture is incredible.

2. Woke up to -33 this morning.  It has now warmed up to -30

3.  Turkey leftovers for dinner.

4.  I want NHL Hockey.  NOW.  I want to watch it on my TV crying

5.  I always seem to feel so depressed after Christmas.  It probably has more to do with the lack of sunlight than anything else, but there it is.   (Just realized it always seems to last until racing starts in February - maybe I just don't like the month of January)
