Woke up this morning and there was no hot water in the building. So I decided staying home was the least bad of the bad options (others being cold shower and going to work unclean). Yes, I know I'm a lazy/shiftless gubmint employee. You don't have to pile on or throw teabags at me.

Today on the Price is Right, a very old woman named Oral made it to the Showcase, and was over by just $184.

Also, it's cold and rainy and I'm trying to save money, thus I'm here and not having a true hooky day.

I hope that pic is a fake, tell me someone can't really be THAT dumb!  Happy b-day to MLK!  I was at Denny's for breakfast this morning and sitting back in the corner by himself reading the newspaper was the famous Pens' king of the catch phrase himself, Mike Lange.laugh  I would've said hi or waved but he was too engrossed in his paper to pay attention to anyone.

The Des Moines, Iowa school district’s decision to use Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a make-up snow day is stirring up some controversy.

The Des Moines NAACP youth council is pushing the district to reconsider.

whoa. if you relax your eyes, you can find the snail from neverending story in there! ...and part of zappa's cheap thrills album cover, a pair of bemused lips, either dobby or smiegel (i never can tell the two apart), a treble clef, a birthday party hat, lots of arrows, a right boob, a tripped out rubber duckie, a yellow golf green, a sassy canary...oh god. i can't stop staring at it.

it's 39 degrees here. "feels like 32." i don't own anything that's even close to being appropriate for this weather, and in a rush this morning, i pulled probably the least sensible thing and my skin hurts. it's definitely a hug your space heater between your knees kinda day.

Weezer - Only In Dreams

You can't resist her.
She's in your bones.
She is your marrow
And your ride home.

You can't avoid her.
She's in the air... in the air
In between molecules of
Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide.

[chorus]
Only in dreams
We see what it means.
Reach out our hands.
Hold onto hers.
But when we wake
It's all been erased.
And so it seems
Only in dreams.

You walk up to her.
Ask her to dance.
She says, "Hey, baby, I just might take the chance."
You say, "It's a good thing
That you float in the air... in the air.
That way there's no way I will crush your pretty toenails into a thousand pieces."

[chorus]

Only in dreams. (x6)

Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes. She's the best.

This face during a Pohler bit:

Adele face:

"This b!tch writes one effing breakup song - ONE! - and they give her all the awards!?!?! Just take your little trophy and get off the stage already, Chubsy Poppins..."

She was also eying Micheal J Fox's son like a lioness does her prey. She's fantastic. I hope she gets shut out at the Grammys just for the reaction shots.

Q'rs
Anyone else think today was Wednesday? (NO?, figures) I'm still ticked at myself for letting some (HMM, best not put what I call it) person get to me this weekend. I don't want to be that person...you know the one, that is all preachy (waving their arms, look at me, preachy) about my kid, I honestly just couldn't NOT say something. Sorry Everyone...I am not apologizing for WHAT I said, but WHERE I said it. I do have this to look forward to tonight ...stay warm people, it's cold outside

PEACE

Hola amigos y amigas!

I got this text message earlier saying I'm around even less now that I am unemployed. So I thought I would stop by and say hi and maybe catch up a bit.
I am still looking for a job. Not too much else going on. My crazy niece is coming out here for a short visit, should be interesting because now she has a baby. Hopefully she isn't as crazy as she used to be.
I was sober for 12 days recently, but that ended as of Saturday. As a matter of fact I am about to open up a Dos Equis and make a sandwich!
Enjoy your day lovelies!!

Good day, bitches.  Wow, been awhile.  Like riding a bike.

Anyway, hi.  How are you?  And by "how are you?", I mean please give me a really brief good/fair/ok kinda answer because I simply haven't the time to get into all of your lives.  Hopefully some day soon I'll be able to catch up, but for now, unless someone is dead or dying, let's keep it simple.  Thanks.

I saw Jen posted something on that show Justified.  Blew my mind that the crazy snake-preacher dude is the kid from Jurassic Park.  I don't even watch the show, but I kept staring every time the commercial came on anyway.

My coworker made me a penis cake for my birthday.  It was an HR nightmare, but a dream come true for me.  So I obviously took a picture and immediately sent it to two people ... Stoney and my District Manager.  (It's ok, I'm amazed I still have a job too.)  I'd post the picture but I'm pretty sure that's not allowed.  Can we post genitals in the form of baked goods?

I went out on Saturday night with a bunch of friends to my local LGBT club, The Den.  Yeah, I know.  It was fun and exhausting.  It was my friend Angelo's first club experience because he's somewhere between the ages of 12-18 ... allegedly 18, but he wouldn't actually give me his ID when I asked for it ... repeatedly.  I'm just looking out for my friend who's dating him (he's 35, yep, do the math ... no really, do it, it's funny) and I don't need him getting arrested for sodomizing an underage boy.  My life is complicated enough.

Anyway, back to Angelo... since he's quiet and shy and it was his first time in a club, obviously we eased him into it.  And by "we", I mean everyone but me since I dragged him out to dance constantly and made him shake it up on a speaker with me at one point.  Don't worry, I didn't go too crazy.  New gays in a club are a lot like introducing new fish to a tank.  Like, he should have been put in a large plastic bag and floated in the club so he could acclimate to his new surroundings from a safe distance first.  But I ain't beat for that s**t, so we went balls to the wall.  Apparently he enjoyed it, though.  J comes through once again... count it.
Oh, bother!...

You'll probably want to slap me, but I've been craving Fishisms lately even worse now that I'm getting all caught up on Suits.

Morning. Well...afternoon. I got up and a migraine smacked me right in the face this morning while I was doing my daily housework. Fortunately it's chilled for the most part - gods bless meds and sleep.

I've kinda grown tired of the QB convo things. They were really funny the first couple, but they've either gotten lazy or the fact that every QB has the same personality just became more apparent over the last few weeks.

Lots of work to do. Have a great day!

No, I think that's why I was thinking of Fish this morning. :) (and yes they have, they do all still have their funny moments, though. I hope they are just riding the season on out, and it'll be done for always.... Lemme know about Suits...)

Afternoon, Everybodee!

Kids are back at school.  All quiet on the home front.  (At least that's what I'm told by my wife.  I wouldn't know, I'm stuck at work.)

Band is back for rehearsal tonight as well.   So even when I'm off I'm still not heading home right away.

And, in other news, a lady in Belgium was a bit distracted as she was heading to pick up a friend at a train station 90 miles away from her house.

Turns out, she realized her GPS may have led her astray when she arrived in Croatia, about 900 miles away.   Yep, taking two days and passing street signs in foreign languages apparently didn't give her any major clues.

And they say men don't stop for directions.

Happens all the time. In fact all the big news stations out here made flubs during their STanley Cup run----->Sacramento logo, Brad Doty and Anze Kopidor instead of Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar.............etc....and recently, they had Dustin Penner listed as the coach of the Kings and Jaret Stoll as Dustin Penner. indecision

It's blowing around 40 mph, gusting to 60.  Temps are around 46F  It's warmer here than Las Vegas, Phoenix and a lot of other places in States, apparently.

I miss my son.  He's half way through his four week stint.  It is taking forever.

Oh there was another accident this morning, about 4 miles from where my neighbor went in the ditch yesterday.  More black ice, but this time two trucks were involved.  The Ford ended up with no passenger side on it at all, parked backwards in a ditch full of snow.  The Dodge ended up with the engine on the passenger seat.  Both drivers walked away.  My daughter and I drove past it as we were heading into town.  scary sh**
