F*** the Harbaugh brothers. Best thing to come out of the Super Bowl is the hope the post game handshake turns into a family brawl. Cat fights are always fun... All is well, carry on.

How does it go from, 61 degrees yesterday to 35 degrees today?  indecision  I swear to God I don't know how that's even possible.

It's Monday that sucks but at least I'm home.  smiley
So, what did I miss while I was at moms?

Happy MLK Jr / Inauguration Day

I hope everyone is doing well. The NHL is back, and I have put most ill feelings aside. The Avs came out and looked good in their 1st period of the year, then sh*t the bed and ended up losing and playing awful hockey the rest of the way.
I watched a lot of hockey the last couple days and the ongoing theme is that things are a little ugly right now.  But with that long of a layoff, some guys playing, some guys sitting at home eating bon bons (Avalance Defenseman Ryan O'Byrne) it's to be expected.  It's still fun though.  I think I ended up watching at least a good chunk of every Western Conference team and the Avs are in trouble.

I also went to see the new Marky Mark vehicle, Broken City yesterday.  It was surprisingly not as awful as I thought it was going to be.  There will be a full review up sometime tonight. And I officially have a new crush in Natalie Martinez

I don't give 2 sh*ts about the Super Bowl.. But thankfully one of my buddies puts on a good time with a good spread and a lot of betting, so at least there is some reason to watch.

Don't forget, Kevin Bacon's new show, Following, starts tonight

Random Thoughts...

1.  Django Unchained...Good movie.  Maybe even great movie.  Best picture worthy?  I dont think so.  There were individual performances worthy of oscars...Dicaprio was excellent...and so was Waltz...but there is no way this is nominated if they hadn't expanded Best Picture to include 10 films.   I will say this movie might have some of the best cameos of all time.  Also what does everyone see in Kerry Washington?

2.  The Brady Pout Face!  The Brady Pout Face!  God...it really is the best "face" in football.

3.  But on the other hand..now we get to listen to the media fellate the Harbaughs for two weeks.  F**k....

4.  All y'all in New Orleans better hope San Fran wins or Ray Lewis is gonna kill someone.

5.  Anyone catch Michael Bisping getting his head kicked off his shoulders?

1. When compared to the rest of the nominees, I think Django is top 3 (and my favorite of the bunch).. I still insist Zero Dark Thirty was WAY overrated. Oh, and Kerry Washington was the worst part of that movie.  I felt like some Vivica A Fox was needed there

As the Inauguration begins (with me watching on TV this time), a quick note about Washington DC.

There are really 3 Washingtons. The one you are seeing now, or will see tonight if you view any Inaugural Ball coverage is the First Washington. It consists of the politicians, the lobbyists, the big time media, and all the other elites. This is the Washington people think of when they think of DC, and it's why everyone hates this town.

The Second Washington consists of the "regular people," so to speak, the working stiffs. Many work for the government, but not all of them. These are the people who live in the suburbs of DC, and in the gentrified parts of the Northwestern part of the city which are unrecognizable to anyone that was here 20 or 30 years ago.

Then there is the Third Washington, which consists of the people who have been unfortunately been left behind as this place prospered, the underclass that every major city unfortunately has. Most live on the other side of the Anacostia River.

This sounded less pretentious in my head, nor am I longer sure of the point. Oh well.

In other news, I'm apparently the other person who doesn't hate either of the Super Bowl teams. Word of advice: If you're not watching live sports on it, don't turn on any ESPN networks for the next two weeks. That advice holds every year regardless of the Super Bowl teams.

Does anyone else see in-text advertising in this poll? It's worrying me that something is wrong with my computer.

Reasons Becky is my Lennay Kekau:
1. We made eye contact at Stanford. (or USC or DeVry... not the point.)
2. I've known her for a few years via the Twitterweb and FlirtyNet, etc.
3. She is a very loving and supportive person.
4. She played volleyball (once?)
5. English Major?
6. I can't give you an in depth physical description, but this could easily be her, right?

7. On or about Dec. 26, I informed Jess that Kteach wasn't real or my GF. (Jess emotionally stood behind me in an official twitter response.) Two hours later I told my buddy Sully we were planning to plan an engagement when she was in a helicopter accident. I choked up.
8. I did not win the Heisman this year.
9. I could pass as a Pacific Islander.
10. I have lawyer'd up and will sit down for a 1 on 1 with QMZ's Janet in the next 24hrs.

(That's the timeline as I know it to be true. lulzy-lulzlulzzer.)

Since you've seen more of the movies nominated do you think this was a weak year?    Do you think Django gets a nomination if Best Picture was a five film category?  Should movies like Beasts and Amour get a "bump" for being able to accomplish what they do with a fraction of the budget?

I do.  If it were me, the 5 nominees out of this group would be Amour, Beasts, Argo, Django and Lincoln. Amour is the only one I've yet to see, but I don't know if I've heard one bad word about it, plus you have two incredibly talented and experienced lead actors with a fantastic story.  I always take budget into account.  The other thing I like about Beasts and Django are the fact that it's not a story (or basic plot) that's been told 1000 times by hollywood in the past.  I like when movies take a risk at trying something different.  There may be a few holes, like Beasts, and somethings may miss, but I think you should be rewarded for the attempt.  I don't know how Beasts didn't get a nomination for Best Cinematography by the way

Silver Linings Playbook isn't a great movie, Life of Pi should be nominated and win the best animated movie, Les Miserables I haven't seen, but the academy always thinks musicals are a lot better than they actually are, and without the last half hour, Zero Dark Thirty is a run of the mill CBS drama

Went and saw Hyde Park on the Hudson........good acting, boring ass storyline.  Don't waste your $$!

GO RAVENS!

HAPPY MLK JR Day!

I had some terrible, terrible news come my way on Friday!.  A really close friend of mine, from HS, passed away. He was 44 yrs old. Details have not been released as yet except for the fact that we all know that he came down with the Flu last week and on Wednesday he was complaining of how bad he felt. He was hospitalized on Thursday and on Friday, it was announced that he had passed.  This man touched every single person that he had ever come into contact with! Always smiling, always making us laugh, would give you the shirt off of his back, always making sure everyone around was doing well or having fun! Such a beautiful soul!  He moved to LA 22 yrs ago to pursue a dream as an actor.....He got his start as one of the Orphans in The Blues Brothers movie (back here in Chicago when he was a kid)

He also appeared in many TV shows. He started his own entertainment company and dabbled in some movies before becoming the booking agent for The Roxy in LA (Sunset Blvd). He was also a painter and did a lot of pictures for actors and celebrities and he was married.

I have always dealt with death easily. I understand it, I deal with it, but, this one has really hurt! I've have been depressed all weekend. Not only did Jeff have a huge impact on me but he also was living the life that I have always wanted. I lived through his stories when we would talk.

I'm hurting really bad! sad

Jeff Cahill's TV appearances

He appeared in
5 episodes of NYPD BLUE (1999-2000)
6 episodes of Dangerous Minds ('96-97)
4 episodes of ER ('98 - 99)
1 episode each in (Southland, Without a Trace, Joan of Arcadia, L.A. Dragnet, Crossing Jordan, Philly, The Practice, Touched by an Angel, The Journey of Alan Strange, Mad About You & Pacific Blue

I'm kinda feeling the opposite about Django and think it HAS been told many times in the past.  Its basically a revenge movie.  Honestly i felt like i could have been watching Inglorious Basterds all over again.

The 49ers are the only undefeated Super Bowl team with multiple appearances, if they lose then the Ravens become the only undefeated Super Bowl team with multiple appearances.

That's my own research, not from Cris Collinsworth mouth or Joe Buck's or any of those other *****s.

Last week I got back with my ex from several years ago and had her stay with me. I fell in love with her all over again, then on Friday she stole a bunch of jewelery & clothes from my room mate while on drugs, which I didn't know she had a problem with. I drove her somewhere with the jewelery and my roomie calls me telling me to bring her back or she's calling the cops, as soon as I flipped a bitch, she opened the door and tried to jump out. This whole thing was a major let down.

Last night I was watching the games at the bar, I got picked up by a cougar. Finally I can cross that off of my bucket list.

Sorry about the loss of your friend Nick.

I like the Ravens. My daughter loves the Ravens and is really excited about Michael Oher going to the Super Bowl. However, even the slight chance that the Niners can win this game will keep me from watching it. God, I vehemently dislike Jim Harbaugh.

The Seahawks fans on twitter had me giggling all weekend. They had #ClassyKaepernickHate trending with crazy tweets like
"I hope he steps in cold cat pee in his socks in the middle of the night"
"I hope his shower goes cold while he has shampoo in his hair"
"I hope he gets stuck in an elevator with Honey Boo Boo"
"I hope he 'replied all' to an embarrassing text"

Then the #ThingsLessViolentThan49ersFans were hilarious too.
"That hit on Steven Ridley"
"Teenagers at a Twilight Book signing"
"Mike Tyson's discount ear piercings"
"Cobra Kai Dojo's competitive philosophy"

Okay I'll stop.
