F/E 1/31 (Edited 01/31/13 03:13PM by kobe_lova)
Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

  • I keep forgetting the SB is Sunday.
  • I think I'm still so drained from the football season that I'm finding it difficult to watch any other sport. I'm also fairly certain the lakers are just going to make me feel worse, but I usually watch anyway, so I hope to adjust soon. Basketball is usually more relaxing for me than football.
  • I'm still IN on The Following. I wanna see what happens next at the end of every episode. I think  it's one of those shows I'm going to have to save up 4 or 5 before I watch, like I do with Person of Interest and Game of Thrones.
  • I caught up on House of Lies. Love it. Nia Long was my second ever girl crush so whenever I get to see her, it's a plus. Mmhmm.
  • Is TWD back this weekend or next? I need to know so I can watch that last episode that I didn't watch cause I don't like to wait that long.
  • Bitches gone bitch. It's extremely disappointing when it's a man. Talk about a turn-off.
  • I missed my lesbian Tuesday, so I'll probably be gay today.
  • I've been drinking water every day for weeks now, and eating at least 3x a day for 2 weeks. I feel accomplished. And, I worked out the other day. Latin dancing/exercise makes me feel like  but Kinect actually shows me that I look much much worse. But I feel fabulous at the time so it's fine.

I'm still IN on The Following. (shaking head NO, I know what is going to happen, hence, I have no need to watch)

You should be watching "The Americans" !

Q'rs, I love "the Americans" (the show) Keri Russell (who I was unsure of in a dramatic role) is outstanding. I could do without Matthew Rhys permed hair, but other than that it's awesome.  Also, as a btw, I am really not a fan of "flashbacks" in shows, I understand the importance of, and this show had the right amount. I realized I only have 5 "must see shows" now. Network TV is blah....

Whiskey straight up!

Well, the sign of a good detective is being able to figure the sh** out. So, you know...you're awesome good. After the story begins, I always figure it out, too but I don't know what's going to happen on the next episode until I watch it...and solve it. I'm a crime solving boss! All that Agatha Christie, Matlock, CSI, and Law & Order(s), I tell ya. :D

I did record The Americans last night :)

Is Matthew Rhys related to The Tudors man?

Hmm, I don't know who John O'Keefe is. Google, here I come.

The playwright? Why isn't it playwrite?

Hmm, okay. I was picturing a person though, and I have no clue who it is. He has a moustache. Dammit, now I need to know.

The good news? It's Thursday.. The bad news? It's Thursday and I have a 10:30pm hockey game tonight

We as an Avalanche fan base are trying to figure out the equivalent of Suck For Luck for Seth Jones who figures to be the #1 prospect in this summer's NHL draft

Reading about Dan Marino's love child on Deadspin.. Is it any surprise famous athletes can be awful human beings, too?

Speaking of which, I was listening to Dan Patrick on the drive into work this morning, and he had Pastor Kurt Warner on today.  I learned that yes, God does have rooting interests in the Super Bowl, and he does turn a blind eye to accomplice to murder

I haven't been home much in the evenings lately, and I really need to catch up on some television programs

The Paperboy is a weird f*cking movie that I can't decide I really hate or really like because of how bad it is

You didn't betray me. You betrayed yourself...

I'm not sure anyone but Stoney knows who Bernie Nichols is but last night he was looking for the person who named his dog. (I love him so much. lol)

Donald Driver retired today at age 37, in his 14 year career he only missed 4 games. One of the hardest working athletes of this era and the greatest receiver in Packers history. Favre owes much of his success to Mr. Driver. A great talent, he will be missed.

Last night I was supposed to go to the Lakers - Suns game, I wanted to see Steve Nash in action one last time, but tickets were 3x that of regular price. If this were championship contending Lakers and Suns teams from years before, I could understand, but right now they're both mediocre (well the Suns flat out stink). Maybe I'll catch the next one in a few weeks, but I know tix are still very steep for that one too. Must be because there's a lot of Lakers fans here or they have our former MVP and coach. I dunno...

I thought it was humorous that Jon Barry said their were lots of boos when Nash was introduced.  Was my tv not working?  Mine sounded like lots of cheers and I couldn't make out any boos.

Those playing in the NFL.COM - FOOTBALL PLAYOFF CHALLENGE, make sure you get your lineups completed for this Sunday.

The Bhawks are no longer perfect, after losing to MINN in a shoot out (3-2), but, we did get a point, so, 6-0-1 - 13pts on the season.  SJ is the only perfect team left.  Both goalies played outstanding!

You know what I dislike more than most?????   Know-it-alls!   And people with absolutely no social skills that like to start sh** with people!  STFU already!  Go take your meds and crawl back into the corner of your home!

Ok, back to happy times!

Oak tree you're in my way
There's too much coke and too much smoke
Look what's going on inside you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you

Angel of darkness is upon you
Stuck a needle in your arm
So take another toke, have a blow for your nose
One more drink fool, will drown you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you

Now they call you Prince Charming
Can't speak a word when you're full of 'ludes

Hello people.

I took a half day of work off so I could take care of my own, well, everything.

17 year old is in trouble, I get to take her to 6 drug and alcohol classes for her drinking at a school event.
Father of the year is "too busy".   I haven't even seen her in 4 months.  She doesn't have to "according to dad"
come to my house or do what I say, because she is almost an adult. She has no curfew at his house, he just totally dropped the ball.   I am ready to let her not graduate and take summer school.
I hate him and hope he dies.

In other news, it's kinda cold.  I need to shave my legs, might have to cuddle to stay warm tonight.  cheeky

Edited to add"   My kids live over an hour away from me.  Her classes are half way back to my house.  I have to pick her up and drop off.     After I work 10 hours.   I hope he dies soon.

They'd be your partner, and...

I'm still mad at myself for missing the Krugman event. At least I got an email from the place that held the event so I can get the copy of his book I paid for.

The furlough schedule is out for Defense employees if sequestration goes through (and it's likely). One day a week for 22 weeks. *sigh*

Best wishes to Donald Driver on his retirement. If I weren't too cheap to buy jerseys, his would've been the one I'd buy.

The one thing I try not to be a snob about is music, mostly because I unironically listen to the Safety Dance (and of course, Informer).

Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

Man, it's been a busy week.

Last Friday, I chaperoned the band to a girls basketball game.  Our director had a prior event to attend, in LA at the N.A.M.M. show.  (Disneyland for musicians and merchants.)

The band was a smidgeon late getting to the gym, so Star Spangled Banner wasn't played at the beginning, but my daughter and the 2 drum majors (all sax players) performed it at half.  (The fourth player in their quartet couldn't make it, but they performed nicely.)  Alas, our team lost the game, but we had fun supporting them.

Not much else going on, except really busy.    On a side note, I'm attempting to learn to knit.  I've always been fascinated how you can basically tie one big knot into a piece of clothing, I've just never had the time.   So far, I'm only half successful with my endeavor...I can tie a really big knot.  Whether you can consider it a piece of clothing really depends on how far you want to stretch the definition.   I've actually not working on any project at this time, just learning the basics.  But we'll soon see.   Or knot.

C'mon, uhh, uhh
I guess he's back 'urr derrty, S-T-L derby
I'm like Magic to Kareem, man you tell me I ain't Worthy
I ain't speaking 'bout a jersey, I'm speaking 'bout income
DID YOU HEAR THAT ELIZABETH? HERE COME THE BIG ONE!
I put mo' money in the community than you got in yo' budget
I wipe my ass with yo' advance to the toilet then flush it
My last stance be a stance of a General Custard
I hot dog cause I can, I got the cheese and mustard
I got the stats of a hall of famer - in just two records
That's why I'm back up at the Superbowl - with Julius Peppers
I got that can't stop, won't stop, in my veins
That's why they can't stop, won't stop, screaming the name
NELLY! NELLY! Go tell a friend to tell a friend
I'ma keep the same grin whether I, lose or win
Up, or down ten, I'ma fight to the end
[breathing hard] Let's go

[Chorus: L.U.V.E.]
Ain't no way they can stop me now Nelly
Cause I'm on my way, I can feel my ring coming
It's the blood of a champion, pumping
Deep inside my veins, too much pride to be running
I'ma get what I can and more, even if
My blood, my sweat, and my tears don't mean nothing
It's the heart of a champion (it's the heart of me)
(It's the heart of a..) in me

[Nelly]
I'm the first pick, the first round, signing bonus profound
Playing for his hometown, rapping for the home ground
And getting buffer like Michael Redd, tell 'em again
I gets buffer like Michael Redd, heard what I said?
The MV-P of the game, intensity still the same
I'm shooting out from my reign, with Peyton Manning type aim
Can't stop me from scoring so they result to just hacking
So there's, three of us now - me, A.I. and Shaq'n
From the look to the as I say
Hover man with more heart than Hallmark on Valentine's Day
I'm the one that you've been Raven about, like Ray Lewis
I think it hard to go and change your route
Cause you don't know if I'm blitzing or if I'm sitting and reading
Waiting for you to go and trip, drop back and throw up a brick, man
AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO, AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO
AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO, AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO

[Chorus]

[Nelly]
It's like a big time decision made on how I can twurk it
If hard work pays off then easy work is worthless
My work habit ain't no habit man, I do it on purpose
I push myself to the limit so my talent'll surface
So now it's, curtains and drapes, on anybody who hates
Disliking what I'm reciting, biting what I've been writing
I've been dogfighting, scratching and clawing on every height
Trying to make you remember me like you +Remember the Titans+
Cause I'm a WARR-IOR, my daddy was a soldier
A Vietnam vet, lil' derrty I thought I told ya
I'm supposed to, whip up your town in Testarossas
Heating like Folgers mayne, I'm young black and rich
As good as it gets, and giving your point guard fits
He think he done seen pressure mayne, but he ain't seen shhhh...
AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO, AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO
AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO, AIN'T NO WAY THEY CAN - NO

[Chorus - repeat 2X]

And I used to think I wouldn't take Nelly seriously because, well, HE's named Nelly.

From -33C two days ago we are up to -12 and supposed to be +1 by tomorrow.  I hate this weather.

Had a great day with my son today.  I watched Hunger Games this morning.  My daughter gave it to me for Christmas and I watched it on my computer, but today I watched it on the TV and it was pretty good.  Then my son and I watched Drive.  Ryan Gosling is definitely hot.  Lots of gory stuff, but it was a prey good movie and I'll watch it again.

Son has spoiled me.  He bought a new HD DVD player for my bedroom.  I had moved the bedroom into the Living room and connected it to the TV out here (I had been using the PS2 with the old TV) and had a DVD player from a co-worker, but he decided I needed an HD player, so he bought that yesterday.  Then today when we went to town to get my daughter, he asked me if i would take the water tank out of the back of my pickup.  I said sure, no big deal, thinking he wanted to buy himself something for his room.  Turns out he wanted to buy me the electric fireplace/TV Stand I had fallen in love with before Christmas.  Haven't set it up yet, that's a task for tomorrow before work.

Have I mentioned lately that I have awesome kids?

My dad lived with an irregular heart beat for about 25 years.  One day, he was sitting in his chair and he kind of sat up and clutched his heart.  About five people jumped for the phone to call 911, cuz he had his first heart attack when I was five.  So we were all kind of always on alert for this kind of stuff.  He said, "Omgosh, my heart just went into rhythm."  And it stayed there for about seconds or some crazy s**t.  As far as we know, that's the only time he did not have arrhythmia before he got his pacemaker/defibrillator.

It is very scary to have that happen.
