Who will win the Daytona 500? (Faniq Fantasy Game) (Edited 02/24/13 12:59PM by CMB)
The 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season is here!  The Daytona 500 is finally here and it's time to bring back the fantasy game here on Faniq.

For the 6th season, I will be running this fantasy game on Faniq.  By entering the weekly poll, you can earn the same amount of points your selected driver receives each race they are selected.  If you are new to Faniq or just want to learn the full details on this game, check below.

***The Rules***

*Points earned by the driver in each race chosen by the Faniq member each week will be added to a running tally week to week.

*If a member selects "Other" and they clearly state the ONE driver they are selecting for the week in the comments below, then I will accept that as your pick and you will get the fantasy points (not official faniq points) that the driver earns in the race.  If more than one driver is stated as your pick, or if you don't mention who you want, then you will just get a mark under the "other" column and receive no points for that week.

*There is NO LIMIT to how many times a member can pick a specific driver throughout the season

*If a Faniq member selects a driver, and due to Faniq error your answer does not appear, you will get credit for your most recent pick in this series of polls.  I will attempt to contact you throughout the week to get your actual answer, but if I get no response, I will just give you credit for your most recent pick in this series of polls.

*Here is a look at the 2012 final results

Past winners in this poll include:
2008- illini81887
2009- Jesse8
2010- Jahiegel
2011- NS2593
2012- kantwistaye

This race is usually unpredictable and with the new car, I look for a ton of crashes and the winner to be the guy who may not have the best car but the luckiest car

Like Scott said, it's impossible to pick the winner of this race because of everything that can happen outside of the drivers' control.  Kevin Harvick looks to be the favorite, but anything can happen

I don't understand the scoring of this poll. Its no big deal, only a couple of points, but how could picking Harvick who finishes near the bottom get more points than picking Earnhardt who finished 2nd?

On polls like these, it doesn't matter where a driver finishes.  What matter is how many other people pick the same driver.  The higher the % next to the driver, the more points you lose if you don't correctly guess the winner.

Yeah, the poll only gives out points between whether your pick is right or wrong, just like any other poll.  If you go out on a limb and pick somebody that nobody else picks, you will end up with a ton of Faniq points if you get the poll right (if your driver wins).  Same works the other way. If you pick somebody that practically everybody else picks and all those people get the poll right (your driver wins) then you won't win that many Faniq points
