Hola amigos y amigas!

So I learned that my favorite new drink is every drop of alcohol in the house. This is not a good plan if you have something to do the next day. I'm feeling much better today.
I'm working part time now...and I can't really use the internet at my new job. So I haven't had time to be in here much.  I actually have to be at work in about 30 mins, so I need to finish getting ready. Hope everyone here is doing well and enjoying your lives!
I have been hearing this song a lot lately, and I like it, so I thought I would share it with you.

Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now
Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same
When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down
Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name

It all just sounds like oooooh…
Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should have bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should have gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man

My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh…
And it haunts me every time I close my eyes

It all just sounds like oooooh…
Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should have bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should have gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man

Although it hurts
I'll be the first to say that I was wrong
Oh, I know I'm probably much too late
To try and apologize for my mistakes
But I just want you to know

I hope he buys you flowers
I hope he holds your hand
Give you all his hours
When he has the chance
Take you to every party
Cause I remember how much you loved to dance
Do all the things I should have done
When I was your man
Do all the things I should have done
When I was your man

Ryan "ASS" Clowe of SJ decided to leave the bench to attack a Chicago player on Friday night!  Umm....that's a no-no! He is suspended indefinitely and faces a hearing today to find out his fate!  It couldn't of happened to a nicer person, right BECKY! wink  This is the same d-bag that tripped an LA KING player last year while sitting on the bench. He put his stick over the boards and tripped a player who had a possible breakaway happening.

Blackhawks try to extend the NHL record to 19 tonight when the Edmonton Oilers come to town!

My Avs are awful on the road and keep finding ways to lose.  Whether it be forgetting to show up to a game against the Kings on Saturday or blowing late leads against the Ducks yesterday and earlier last week. Ugh

I don't have much else right now, busy day at work

and your poll choices show that.

it's a green screen (smh)

I am eating black licorice and drinking a mountain dew.
I'm PO about the racing this weekend, I feel cheated!
Is Nick going to become one of those obnoxious fans if his Blackhawks continue winning?
I watched Oscar, just in time to see Salma (looking like Audrey Hepburn: GORGEOUS)
Yeah Ben! (again)
I got work to do.

Keep it

Swol is back....tell yo friends....

Whatup bitches?  Long time no talk.

- Is Nick still drinking Zima like Andre the Giant used to pound vodka?

- Has Jason become a Mod?

- Ash, have you and ole boy from San Jose (ML) made an e-connection yet?

- Stoney, have you an J tied the knot?

- Alain, you still trying to ball with the big fellas?

Hope all is well.  Everything is good in the Chi.  New condo, job is going great, and I haven't accidentally run into Nick (thank God).  We did almost get into it with some rugby trader a**holes on Saturday, but other than that, all is good in the hood.

Who missed me (besides all the lovely ladies I had emails from)?

Found it ironic, that at the Oscar's, the only person not laughing after the Rihanna/Chris Brown reference has had a little history in her past with domestic assaults as well as current love's fighting with baby daddy.

Wow - sounds like everybody watched the Oscars but me. And it looks like I missed some unintentional comedy...boo. I got to see my Ducks come from behind again. While many teams have their fans cussing at the end of the game, mine has had me cussing all the way through only to make me happy at the end. (Sorry Stoney sad) It's been kind of Seahawks-ish.

I started Silver Linings Playbook last night around midnight and couldn't put it down. That's all I'm going to say about that. Oh...except that it's awesome. Read it.

Edit - Welcome back jswol! Does this mean you're staying, or is this a drive-by?

that might have had a bit more "oomph' if you hadn't misspelled a word.

I've never witnessed Becky "obnoxious", she is quite cute in the recovering alcoholic that hits the cooking sherry kind of way..

Is it really the 25th today?  This is like Deja Vu all over again...I entered this poll last Thursday....

Afternoon Q'ers!  Jess, I did NOT watch Oscar either...no interest, plus, last 2 movies I saw IN theatre were Casino Royale (2006) ant The Hangover (2009).

Rangers stunk up the joint again on Saturday....SHOOT....THE....PUCK!  With 5 minutes left in the 3rd period, the Rangers had only 3 shots for the period....can't score goals unless ya shoot!

Took a ride down the barrier island yesterday to Seaside and Island Beach State Park...the destruction from Hurricane Sandy is MUCH worse than I imagined.  I'd seen pictures here and there, but to see million dollar homes just crumpled....whole bottom floors washed away....driving down the highway on the RIGHT COAST (where when heading South, ocean is on the LEFT) and not seeing homes at all where they once stood....really sad.

On a lighter note, here's today's pic...

Have a good week, everyone!

Morning, Everybodee!

Nope, didn't watch the Oscars either.

I did, however, go with my brother-in-law down to TJ to pick up his mother and aunt from the airport.  They spent 2 weeks down in Mexico City.

From our house, it took approx. 15 minutes to get to the border, cross over and park in the garage at the airport.    The return trip wasn't so quick.  We got in line at the Otay mesa crossing, and finally made it through the border after about 4 and a half hours.   I told my wife and her brother before we went that we should just park near Brown Field on this side of the airport.  The 2 airports are right across the border from each other.   They could have crossed the road and climbed the fence. It would have been quicker. (If border patrol comes along, they could just ask for a boost.)

F*ck it. Left my wallet at my first job. Kinda desperately needed it for the next Made the news. We lit those luminary balloons at Robs dad birthday party. Window lickers started reporting UFOs. So we did it again Saturday. Cali and JSWOL all in the same day. Someone pinch me.

massengill???  Fill a honky in....are there any threads in which ML is currently flexing his know-it-all glands?

"Still legally single and quietly attaching a line to the Blackhaws bandwagon"

Hop aboard....I'll kick Nick off to make room.  Lord knows he was one of the "fans calling Toews "toes" just a few yeas ago.  I still remember the time he said Marian Mimosa was his favorite player.

Can't believe this start.  That said, the Oilers have had our number so it wouldn't shock me to see the streak end tonight.  Time to go knock of some wood.....

Oh, and if you guys have a spot in your city that serves gyro burritos....try. that. sh*t.

Things were fine and dandy until my dishwasher decided to stop working. *sigh*

As awful as the Sandy damage was, I can't say I feel too sad about million dollar homes being destroyed.

I did not watch the Oscars, but the clip of JLaw tripping is all over the place.  It would be the Louisville girl.  I love her even more, though, after seeing her response to the "what were you thinking when you fell?" question.  She is still such a regular girl whose success hasn't gone to her head.  I don't think she could've looked any more beautiful last night if she'd tried.

Well....that's the property value around here....many of those homes were sold for $150,000 back in the day...the 60's and 70's...many were summer homes renovated and retrofitted with heat to be winterized.  It's a sad, sad thing....my wife and I were talking as we were driving past all the destruction, wondering how we would have reacted if it was us that was affected.  My inlaws almost bought an oceanfront home in the 70's-and it would have appreciated to a million or more now (from the $135K that they thought was too much)

My dad bought property on Okanagan Lake when i was a kid - the lot he bought was $2,000 at the time.  He put a trailer on it, then built a Spanish style home with sunken living room and master bedroom, fireplaces in both those rooms,   It is truthfully one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen.  I helped build it during the summer, putting in windows, helping roof it, pouring cement, etc.  It is valued at $2.5 million now, and cost almost nothing to build back then.  It has come close to flooding many times - the lake is normally about 50 steps from the living room glass doors, but during the spring as the snow melts, the lake rises.

sorry, I know this is a bit off topic.  I just know what you mean about the value of the homes.

I really miss my dad.

According to the BLS Inflation Calculator, $150k in 1970 is the equivalent of $890k today. $135k in 1970 is the equivalent of $801k today. So yeah, not buying that it's the property values that made those million dollar homes. These weren't middle class homes then, and they certainly aren't now. So while it's sad for those homeowners, in terms of people affected by Sandy, they are low on my list of people I feel bad for.
