Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

My sister informed me last night that she was now black like the rest of us since she was watching Boyz n da hood. I informed her that she was indeed blacker, being that I've never seen it, had just finished Downton Abbey and was watching Doctor Who. :|

Downton Abbey - IN after 15 min. Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) is great.
Doctor Who is awful and I can't NOT watch it.
Portlandia- one ep and it's a NO. It's not what I expected and wasn't funny enough to try another.
Tonight probably will be a dvr night. But, I'm still open to suggestions.

Don't click, it's a rap song that I love right now. Had no idea there was a video.

Hola.

Tonight is Game 3 of 4 games in 6 night. This hockey coma I've been on is pretty spectacular. Go KINGS!

Yesterday Bailey and some of the ice crew came to my school........so yeah.....they proceeded to instigate 3 dog piles where one or maybe two were slightly injured. My students weren't involved, but they were tempted. We talked about it when we got back to class-------I told them I was proud of them for realizing that their second grade bodies stood no chance vs. 4th and 5th grade kids. I gave them a Starburst and Hershey Kiss for their amazingness. (IT really was hilarious.....especially when some of the teachers got upset. lol I'm horrible and I know it, but I feel that if you are obnoxious enough to do something like that----- even if you are 7 or 10, you deserve it and maybe next time you won't do that. Plus, some of the teachers could have stood their ground a little. lol )

This is one of my kiddos lunch bags from yesterday. They had a blast.

And now I'm off to an in service. indecision

24 / 30!   I thought last night was a pretty good game to watch, regardless of the outcome.  You could tell that Chicago was sluggish from all of the games that they have played lately, but, I thought both teams had their chances and both goalies were huge, at times.

When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse, out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look, but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now..... the child has grown, the dream is gone.

Nice win for your Blackhawks Nick.   I also learned something during last night's game that I didn't know before.  First of all your allowed to check someone over the boards and into their own bench, however your not allowed to push that guy from behind or it's called "roughing"wink

I truly hope that the Blackhawks ride this streak until it "bucks them", although they seem to be a little banged up with Hossa missing this game, and I never heard if Sharp was seriously injured during the game when he left.
etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...

Yeah, the refs were off last night.

I think they called that roughing call on McLeod because it happened 5 seconds after the initial hit.  But, yes, you can check a player into the bench, as long as it's a legal check, which last night's was.

The Hawks (Bolland) got away with a few hooks but Duchesne also got away with elbowing Shaw in the yapper and there were a few non interference calls on both sides.

Sharp is going to miss some time........he has an injured shoulder and the BHawks never indicate the exact injury (to protect their players), so, we should find out today that it's an upper body injury and just how much time he will be out.  Personally, I think it's dislocated??  Quenvllle indicated that it was not a season ending injury but that he might miss some time. Hossa will be back tomorrow, he could of played last night, but, they opted to let him rest and Shaw will be back tomorrow.  Shaw left after that elbow to the jaw due to dizziness!

Personally, I hope the streak ends soon.  It would be nice if they can break the '79 Flyers record of 35 games (at 30 now), but, whatever.....The playoffs are what counts more so than this nice streak!

I like Sharp so I was hopeful it wasn't anything serious.  I just thought it was funny how the NBC Sports Network people calling the game made mention of the check, plus the knocking of a stick out of someone's hands right before the Blackhawks scored the 2nd goal.  Game was well played by both teams, and I now believe Ray Emery will be getting some looks for a starting goalie position when the season's over.  Guy has been marvelous.

Ash, Portlandia is hit & miss bits. I sorta like it, but I don't... then i like it again. I don't know what to think?

Dr. Who depends on the Dr. imo.

I haven't seen Downton Abbey yet, but I'm kinda 'meh' on period pieces.

I need to rip thruogh House of Cards this weekend. Has anybody seen it? I love what Netflix is doing right now. It's going to be a binge watchers heaven.

and this is a really good piece on NBC by Tim Goodman (The Bastard Machine). The peacock is circling the drain on all fronts. It's the Titanic of networks. Univision gets more (on avg.) primetime viewers <--- read that again --- and NBCSportsNetwork has original programming that consistently draw around 25,000 (TWENTY. FIVE. THOU-SAND!) viewers. I mean, sweet baby geezus, those are public access numbers. Not even GOOD public access numbers.

I saw the 1993 movie called House of Cards with Tommy Lee Jones and Kathleen Turner.  I thought that flick was yes

But, not the current House of Cards series with Kevin Spacey. frown

Well, I don't like sketch/skit stuff much, and I didn't realize that's all it was.

Doctor Who has the worst/best special effects I've ever seen on tv; Mothra or Sharktopus worthy.

I think Netflix added House of Cards to my instant queue and placed it on top without my permission and I shall it. It IS Kevin Spacey. Plus, Crackle's original series Chosen was really good.

I pretty much forgot the Downton Abbey was a "period piece" after the first 30 minutes.

We should do a new season deadpool this year.

Oh, cause I'm enjoying this as I type, work, finish my Sedaris book, and pin and want you all to enjoy as well. Click.

I'm the same way with Portlandia, but I can live with the disappointing skits

I was a huge fan of Dr #9 Christopher Eccleston, Dr #10 David Tennant is growing on me though

I tried with Downton Abbey.. I just.. Maybe I wasn't in the right mindframe ( Fantastic series to jump into the middle of for an inside the haters studio)

House of Cards.. Do it

On to other things... The Avs had their flashes last night but couldn't bury their chances again and for the second game in a row, play well enough to win but come out with 0 points

My hockey playoffs continue tonight and we have our hands full with the #1 seed

I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are
All I can feel

Remembering
You standing quiet in the rain
As I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell in
Holding you close
How I always held close in your fear
Remembering
You running soft through the night
You were bigger and brighter and wider than snow
And screamed at the make-believe
Screamed at the sky
And you finally found all your courage
To let it all go

Remembering
You fallen into my arms
Crying for the death of your heart
You were stone white
So delicate
Lost in the cold
You were always so lost in the dark
Remembering
You how you used to be
Slow drowned
You were angels
So much more than everything
Hold for the last time then slip away quietly
Open my eyes
But I never see anything

If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart
All my pictures of you

Looking so long at these pictures of you
But I never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
But always just breaking apart
My pictures of you

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you

I'm ordering a new computer within the next few days. I'm getting one custom built so I can get a nice fast processor etc. So I'm in the middle of "building" it and evidently they're offering free engraving on the top right corner of the monitor area so I thought "heck, why not." Since there are limited options with what I could put on there, only allowing 38 characters (I think..or 40..I may have miscounted...38 seems weird), I had to get creative. I don't want my name on it. The color I chose was the brushed silver look, so I thought I would be silly and just to see what it looked like I typed "The Silver Surfer". I've decided I'm keeping it.

ebates.com - a great website you should visit before ordering from a lot of places (Victoria's Secret, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and apparently Sony store) and they send you rebates in the mail. You have to be a member (free) and be logged into their site, click through their site to get to the site you're ordering from...I always forget, which makes me mad because I order from Amazon, VS, and B&N all the time. It's not just those...there are tons of stores they're partnered with.

I used ebates last night (or so I thought), I must have clicked out of the VS page they directed me too while shopping, because after my order was verified,
Ebates didn't show it.   VS accepted their coupon though.  $15 off.
