Heading to the ATL
So my daughter has a volleyball tournament in Atlanta Easter Weekend, and I'll be in Friday evening and out Sunday Afternoon.  Already have plans to hit the aquarium  Saturday, but besides Ash, what else is there to do in Atlanta?

Staying in Smyrna. I will be watching volleyball at the Georgia World Congress Center on Saturday morning and the Cobb Galleria on Sunday Morning.  Rolling in about 7 pm on Friday evening.  Give me some ideas, even if I don't use them.

And yes I know I'm a week early for the Final Four and Opening Day for the Braves.

I'd go to the Coke Museum while you can, I hear Mayor Bloomberg is trying to have it shutdown.

Varsity!!!!

Hmm, the aquarium is probably enough. At the GWCC, you'll be close to Nyce. I'm not a touristy person, so I can't help you. But, the Varsity is quite gross to me now, so you should pass on that. I assume you've had it before?

Oh, apparently there is some easter stuff happening at atlantic station on saturday per some coworkers.

Back in the day I would have said visit the Gold Club with the NBA guyswink, however now I would simply say a nice dinner of Prime Rib at Doc's in Symrna is a nice alternative.

I assume that there is a MLK memorial there, that might be worth checking out. But outside of that I can't think of anything in Atlanta worth seeing, off hand.

Hit up a strip club or you can check out many of the Peach Trees and Peach Streets they have down there!

I never got to spend a lot of time in Atlanta, but outside of meeting Ash and Marcademus I wanted to (but didn't get to) do/go to:

1 - Georgia Aquarium
2 - Centennial Olympic Park
3 - MLK Jr. National History Site
4 - Museum of Natural History

And people told me to do the Coca Cola tour thing but I'm a Pepsi girl - so it was on my "if time" list. Unfortunately, we sped through and didn't really get to do a whole lot. Trever was skrred of the traffic...we were pulling a little U-Haul, and had dogs in kennels in the back and it was hotter than hades.

No strip clubs with the daughter...

You might find some behind the scenes stuff at CNN interesting but your daughter not so much. It's too bad you were not here during a weekday, we could go watch Morning Express w/Robin Meade and get my cuz to sneak us around.

Also two people just got shot at Varsity this week. I was right around the corner when all hell broke loose. My first TRUE "holy crap wtf is going on?" moment back in 'Murica.

They are ALL 'Peach Tree' something or other. It's infuriatingly comical at times.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Arrived in Atlanta Friday evening.  Ended up having dinner at Jock and Jills at Cobb Galleria.  Pretty good wings.  Yuengling Pitchers for $8.50.  At GWCC at 7:30 Saturday morning for about 6 hours of Volleyball.  Ok day.  Went to the Aquarium after lunch at Jonny Rockets.  The whale sharks are awesome, and they have a couple huge rays.  Awesome.  Was about to go back to the hotel, when all the traffic started arriving for the Hawks game.  Decided to go to Hard Rock for drinks and a light dinner.  Sunday back for volleyball and headed for home.

Need to do Coke Museum next time.
