HOLA! (I've been practicing my Espanol.)

I got a pretty cool gift in my box yesterday at school. ONe of my former parents who still volunteers as a reader in my class, had a friend make these for me.

Also-----------------> Stoney wins for best beard this year. (see pic on twitter) Seriously. I haven't seen a better beard since Dustin Penner's playoff beard last year. #fantastic

Buenos Dias todos!

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was pretty tame for me, for an April Fool's day.   (I guess spending half the morning concentrating on getting payroll done really distracted me.)     One of our techs accidentally left his truck keys on a desk, where another tech took the opportunity to relocate his van.

I halfway pranked my daughter, as I had found out the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies are performing in about 3 weeks.   Some of you might remember that members of the band were supposed to be able to go watch them do a sound check rehearsal before a concert earlier in the year.   Unfortunately, not enough people could go, so that was cancelled.

Well, I told my daughter that the were coming to town, and she got excited...until I told her the venue was 21 and up.   Oh, well.  She'll see them sometime.

Plenty of baseball games yesterday to help take my mind off the struggles of my former roomates, then actually had a decent laugh last night while turning in to WWE Raw from Washington D.C .  Duane"The Rock" Johnson said the "will of the people" can accomplish anything, even a future tenant of the White House.  Good luck with that one Rock.

NHL TRADE TRACKER!

T
he Blackhawks blew another 3rd period lead and won in a shoot out!  Not happy about the way they are finishing games!

We also acquired Michal Handzus from San Jose for a draft pick......yeah, whatevs!

Both Chicago baseball teams won......zzzzzzz  (yawn).   I will not be all about Baseball season until 1) Hockey is over and 2) the weather stays above 70 degrees.

4 months until the NFL Pre-season starts!  3 weeks until the NFL draft!

I don't know, I don't care, and it doesn't make any difference...

OMG my Ducks got the shutout over Dallas last night! I almost cried. Sports affect me way too much.
OMG King Felix! heart heart

I'm tired. The power went off around 6am and we just got it back. With power outages, we get complete silence. I have to sleep with a fan on or some sort of noise in my room (not TV or music - those don't really work). With the dead silence, my dog decided she had cottonmouth or something and wouldn't quit moving her tongue around or whatever it is that they do. I almost ripped her throat out. Now our house is freezing.

I've been working out religiously - even in the hotel room up in Seattle. Something about this new program has me completely committed. Hopefully that means good things - I'm over halfway through the first month!

Saw a bumper sticker this morning that tends to make me believe my soulmate was driving that car, because we obviously share the same view.

The bumper sticker read "I will share with you whether I go to the left or the right in voting for president, when you can use a signal to show me which way your planning on turning your car, before you actually make the turn at this intersection."

I wonder when car companies are going to start listing turn signals as optional on their paperwork?  They obviously have stopped making them in most models on the roads today.

i went into the long weekend on a payday and begged myself to pretend like i didn't get paid yet until at least the 1st so it wouldn't be a long painful pay period. so here it is, 13 days from more money and i have $86 left, a broken window, a sunburn and a hangover. for the next $84, i'm totally sticking with a solid "it was worth it."

I can't believe the AZ Cardinals are going to have Carson Palmer as their starting QB, he's even worse than Kolb now. They better at least draft a lineman, if they're not gonna go after somebody like Geno Smith.

To counter the "missing" turn signals is the bumper sticker; "Horn broken. watch for finger."

also completely unrelated.

Actually, that often counters the presidential stickers as well.

Honestly, it's gotta be better than this hole. I thought it was bad that the town you were in only had 400 something people. At least you're only an hour away from a city. I'm an hour away from....Forks. frown (But 4 hours away from the Seahawks. Duluth would put me considerably further away)

Duluth is seriously gorgeous.. and you're on Superior, so it's kinda like the ocean with NO SHARKS!

I'm about an hour and a half away from there.  we could play all the time!

Kevin Ware is back home in the 'Ville after having surgery on his leg in Indy.  Dude is a rock star.  It's really a breath of fresh air to see a kid not have the "it's all about me" attitude, although everyone would certainly understand if he did.  He's so much more concerned about the team, and he is living out the L1C4 (Louisville first, Card forever) mentality.  I'm still getting over the fact that he called his team to surround him as he laid on the side of the court about to be taken out to the ambulance and told them he'd be okay and get out there and win the mother f**king game.

Louisville women play Tennessee Tonight.  I love this picture of Jeff Walz, head coach of the Lady Cards, at the game against Baylor.  He told the girls they had nothing to lose, and to just basically go b**ls out.  And they did.  He was just having a good time, as he should have been.  I wish I could see the full face of that lady in the background, who is watching in horror as Baylor's ship is sinking.  I love a good Cinderella story.  While the Lady Cards aren't the 16 seed kicking ass and taking names, they are not supposed to be where they are now.

Later, muchachos.

I've been cleaning up so many messes at work I should go in wearing hip waders.

Coaches being ***holes isn't a surprise, and isn't even necessarily a bad thing for a high school or a college kid to deal with. Then there's this guy, who if Rutgers has any brains will fire by the end of the week.

First, Oh my!!

Second, I watched Finding Nemo on Easter! It was amazing. Like the first time.

My dad came in from church and said "you must really have nothing else to watch". "Umm, this is one the best movies ever!"

Next thing he knew, 7 people were gathered around watching the hell out of some Nemo.

Sooo, driving to work today this sh** sucker truck pulls out onto the highway, off of a gravel road, but doesn't stop first to clean off his truck or tires.  He's heading toward me and I can see all these rocks and stuff flying off his truck all over the place.  I try to get out of his way, but there is nowhere to go.  this motherf***ing rock the size of a softball comes heading for my truck.  I turn to the right as much as I can, but it hits my windshield.  It's huge.  And I can't get the glue stuff put in it, cuz it goes right thru to inside the truck.  It goes in Thursday for a new windshield and I can't do eff all about it.

Well, not quite true, cuz I did let the RCMP know who owned the truck and what he did.  Won't help me, but it might help someone else.

My daughter has been struggling in school, in a couple of subjects that, in our curriculum don't teach anything that the kids will use out of school, in my opinion.  Today she went on her own to talk to the teachers about what she can do to improve her marks, explaining that staying after school isn't really an option, but offering to bring home more homework if that helps.  I'm very proud of her for her maturity in talking to the teachers before it is too late.  Apparently it was the smart thing to do, because the teachers have agreed to work with her, giving her an update weekly as to her progress/struggles.  We will see, but her extra work before the spring break actually brought her up to B's in both classes, as per her teachers.

Started out a crappy day, but improved :)
