Before I die, I want to....
Candy Chang is an artist/activist whose goal is to transform public spaces into places where people can look inside themselves and use what they find inside to better the world around them.  In New Orleans, one of Candy's projects asked folks to complete the idea...."Before I die, I want to..." My favorite is this gentleman:

who wants to be tried for piracy in this lifetime.  Check out her site.  It's well worth it.  But first, tell me what you want to do before you die.  (And I don't give a rat's a** WHO you want to do.  Keep that s**t to yourself, kthx).

Go to a NASCAR race with my "sis" in Bristol, TN.  We have talked about it for years, but it just hasn't happened yet.  It will.  We talked yesterday, and it is still very much a dream for both of us.

This is a definite "must do".....I don't know what train riding is like now, but back, oh some years ago I did this from Cali to Pennsylvania. Awesome way to see the country.

I went across Canada on the train.  It was wonderful.  The Rocky Mountains were unbelievable, looking through the skylights, not worrying about having to keep my eyes on the road.  Even the prairies, flat and carrying on forever, were a sight to behold.  Definitely, I hope you get to do this!!

"And I don't give a rat's a** WHO you want to do.  Keep that s**t to yourself, kthx" Freakin love this.

I have a huge bucket list, mostly involving travel but I'll give a couple more that are maybe a little less conventional.

Build our own house.

(I'll be back)

I've never even been on a train, going on a long trip with a sleeper cabin, etc. does sound very cool.

Ha, Jess's post made me come back and see if I had typed something outloud I should not of (whew), someone else riled her up. Back to the subject. I wonder if or how far North you can ride. If the train went all the way to Alaska, I could check that off my list.

Leave no debt, have all the arrangements made so my family does not have to make those decisions.

Oh, like Jess, build my own house with all the cabinets, counters and mirrors etc, adjusted for tall people.

I even have a specific trip in mind.  It starts in Flagstaff, stops at the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Salt Lake City, Jackson Hole/Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park.

I guess I should answer the original question. Besides Belize which I plan on going to in 2 years, Australia is the only place I want to go to outside the US. This trip has been planned and put to the side, since I don't want to take any of my kids (shocked...selfish me) it is now back on track in about 5 years, as long as I am still breathing.

That's one of the reasons my trip hasn't happened yet. Now that my kids are old enough to leave, she has a grand baby living with her... Like I said, we are still planning

I have 2 things on my list, although #2 will never happen since it would be more rare than seeing Bigfoot!

1st of all I would love to be at Coors Field if and when the Rockies ever make it to the World Series again and win a game.
2nd, (which will never happen) I would love to see that Gearhead agrees with me on something. cheeky

Why?
#20 | 470 days ago

I would love to see the world.  I'd also like to see every state in the union.  So far, I have been in 26 states (not including the state of confusion)...but some don't count, because I was just in the airport for a layover.  I did drive to Arizona when my brother started at Arizona State, and I found out why they call it "America the Beautiful".  If I had a job where I could take off for 3-4 weeks in a row, I'd drive and make sure I hit every state...though the car might get wet trying to get to Hawaii...

Mostly because I have met my complete opposite in life, and I happen to know she was a female I lived with for 2+ years.  Their can be no way on God's green earth that I have 2 people that think I am a complete moron compared to them.

That's on my list too, along with hockey. But I've been told I'll need to find someone else to hit Lions and Red Wings games with me, because there's no way I'm getting Trever to go to Detroit. ever.

I'll do Detroit, Jess.  Hockey arenas is one that is on my list as well.

I also want to go to a NBA and a NFL game, preferably the Lakers at home and the steelers at home.

N'awlins for Mardi Gras
Daytona 500
Indy 500
The Super Bowl (don't care whether the Steelers are playing in the game or not, just want to go to it once)
Hawaii

see the Pirates win a World Series

and skydive

I did an overnight train during my spring break when I was studying in France.  Trust me, some of those sleeper cabins aren't exactly the most comfortable things.  The one I was on was very small and crowded with 4 people.  It also wasn't very nice being woken up in the middle of the night by a conductor to check tickets when we crossed a country border.
