Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

dvr weekend:
-Hannibal was so very good, esp for a pilot episode. And being that I'm quite critical of anything relating to the Harris novels, I was surprised. Watch.
-Watching that reminded me that I never got back to Bates motel. How were the next episodes?
-The last 2 Shameless eps (not including last nights because I haven't seen it) were good.

-Grimm...love the show but I wish Juliet would just die.

-I watched Animal House for the first time on Friday night. It was okay. The best parts were the John Belushi scenes. He didn't say much or do much but when he was onscreen he was great. I don't think I'd ever seen him in a movie, and now I'm sad he died so young. Also, everyone was super young. Kevin Bacon actually freaked me out because I'd never seen him THAT young. I always thought his first movie was Friday the 13th...apparently not. Donald Sutherland wasn't already 70, and Tim Matheson was cuteness.

i installed a window myself this weekend! i don't trust that thing at all in winds exceeding 10mph heading north. soooo...cross your fingers for me and houston that there are no hurricanes this summer cause i think my windchimes have a better survival chance. in the meantime, its a great bug and faller stopper. oh and it's see through. so i've got that going for me. which is nice.

Sloppy Seconds!

Mornin Q'ers! It's a WARM day here in NJ!  Finally, Spring has sprung!  It's supposed to be in the 70's all week.  This is my favorite time of year, because things are coming back to life, and the colors are beautiful!

Grand niece got Christened yesterday.  Had a nice day, nice dinner.  No fights, which made it even better.

Took a ride through Mantoloking, NJ on Friday evening...still want to cry when I see it.  Mantoloking had million dollar homes that were reduced to rubble.  Almost 6 months after Hurricane Sandy made a direct hit on us, it STILL looks like a war zone.  The tourism season is probably gonna be hurt.

Here's today's pic....

Have a great Monday!

Hey Fah-QERS!

Guess who was the 1st NHL team to clinch a Playoff spot ??

I'm still a little worried about this team come playoff time due to the fact that we are not physical enough and I think we will be manhandled in a 5 or 7 game series, but, we'll see.

Funny, the Cubs motto (commerical advertising) for this year is "Your 2013 Chicago Cubs are committed, are you?"  -  HAHAHAHAHAHA  -  I can go one of two ways with this......1) They are committed to LOSING or 2) They should be committed (to an asylum).
UGH   angry    Thank GOD, ALLAH, BUDDAH, SATAN or whomever you believe in, that MARMOL is out as our Closer!  That piece of crap should be let go!  Thank GOD, ALLAH, BUDDAH or SATAN he's in the last year of his contract!  SEE YA, BITCH!

Life is Short, Enjoy the time that you have!

Q'rs

It was a greatish weekend! To bad Monday had to come along and spoil it all. I had/have a hm-mm moment: Why do folks feel the need to put clothes on animals? I don't get it, really I don't. It's a multi million dollar business, there are "pageants" with prizes and a photo shoot. I'll never understand it, I just won't,  and I feel bad for the animals subjected to it. Apparently the boys and I sold enough of whatever we were selling to go camping this weekend (ugh) I  am not really looking forward to it. We went and seen The Croods in 3D.....we had a blast! Keep pumping the OJ

PEACE

As a Michigan fan, I don't want to see a Fab Five reunion at the game tonight. That whole scandal set Michigan basketball back 20 years, and they've finally overcome all of that b.s the right way! Why should a bunch of cheaters get to enjoy the spotlight with a team that did it without cheating (I hope cheeky)

GOOOOO BLUE!

A woman was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, she received a call from the doctor’s office to tell her that she had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. She had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so she didn’t have any time to spare. As most women do, she liked to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time she wasn’t going to be able to make the full effort.

So, she rushed upstairs, threw off her pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave herself a quick wash in that area to make sure she was at least presentable. She threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to her appointment.

She was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when she was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I’m sure you do, she hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that she was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.

She was a little surprised when the doctor said, “My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven’t we?” She didn’t respond.

After the appointment, she heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal .. Some shopping, cleaning, cooking. After school when her 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, “Mommy, where’s my washcloth?”

She told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, “No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it.”

Never going back to that doctor again……….. never.

On Saturday morning I lost my wallet, then found it on top of the trunk of my car, apparently it was there over night.
Luckily everything was still in it; money, cards, spare car key, melted condom, everything

Morning, Everybodee!

On Saturday I went out and bought my tickets to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  They're playing on the 26th.  Since that weekend is the one right between my wife's birthday and mine, we're making a date of it.  (We usually celebrate the entire fortnight.  Mine is Sat., 4/20, and hers is Sat, 5/4.)

Alas, our school color guard and drumline have a show that night, but since I attend 99% of their shows, I'm entitled to take some time off.   One of the color guard seniors was a little upset that I wasn't going to see one of her last shows.  Since my daughter had a heavier than normal workload this year, we haven't seen any of their show, we're usually their cheering section.    I told her (the senior) that I'm going to attend their championship performance, which is on my birthday.  They better win something.

Tonight, I get to go play, I'm helping with a fireworks show down at the Midway museum.  Woohoo!

Hello out there in FanIQ Land, what a beautiful day here!  I'd say Michael Del Zotto is on my s*** list for his elbow to James Neal's head Friday night, but looking at the video I doubt that was intentional.  However, thank you Buffalo for beating the Devils last night, that gave the Pens the first playoff berth in the East!

Mornin' Q'ers. Okay, it's not morning anymore to some of you and I have less than a half hour left of it but whatever.

I had an awful weekend. Saturday my back started bugging me, but I was sitting in my office chair so I figured I'd lie down a minute. Bad idea. It then started having spasms and it got so bad that I became nauseous and I was having odd little heart flutters. I thought maybe there was something else wrong with me because it's never been THAT bad - I was thinking pancreatitis (sp) or gall bladder issues or heart attack or something. I know that's silly but that's how bad it was. And here I am in the middle of nowhere, an hour away from an urgent care clinic and two hours from a decent hospital. I was going back and forth on going though - partly because if it WAS something else then maybe they could fix it. If it wasn't, what can they do for back spasms? Drugs? Going to the ER for drugs for back spasms seemed ridiculous. So I was up until almost 7:00am in pain until it decided to calm down enough to let me sleep. Then it started back up around 10:00 last night. It's better now. The silver lining? I was *okay* when I was up moving around, so I made some chocolate chip cookies. I avoid making these cookies because they're SO good we can't stay out of them and finish them off in a hurry but I figured what the heck.

I'm double mad because there was no way I was going to be able to do anything Shaun T asked of me. I'm doing that ish early tonight though, just in case it comes back.

hi gang
The Rockies home opener Friday was awesome.. Fantastic weather, the Rockies won, 6 beers and 2 Jameson shots deep before the first pitch, woooooooooo

Saturday morning wasn't great

I did manage to do a lot of home projects this weekend and I had my baseball team's opening day yesterday.  Let's just say things were a little rusty

how's my week going so far?
It's not even 12:30 and I've been working for 7 hours already today, I've had to pass up tickets to Bad Religion tonight and A Day To Remember tomorrow

Oh, and I realized last night I want to at least check out Hannibal.. I'm a huge Mads Mikkelsen fan

Here, have a Weezer song.. Butterfly

Yesterday I went outside
With my mama's mason jar,
Caught a lovely butterfly
When I woke up today
Looked in on my fairy pet
She had withered all away
No more sighing in her breast

I'm sorry for what I did
I did what my body told me to
I didn't mean to do you harm
Everytime I pin down what I think I want it slips away
The ghost slips away

Smell you on my hands for days
I can't wash away your scent
If I'm a dog then you're a bitch
I guess you're as real as me
Maybe I can live with that
Maybe I need fantasy
Life of chasing butterfly

I'm sorry for what I did
I did what my body told me to
I didn't mean to do you harm
Everytime I pin down what I think I want it slips away
The goal slips away

I told you I would return
When the robin makes his nest
But I ain't never coming back
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry

If I make it through the next two days 1) with all my hair and 2) without biting my fingernails off down to the first knuckle, it will be a motherf**king miracle.  I need a script for some nerve pills.  If Louisville does not win this game tonight, it is their own damn fault.  Even some UK friends of mine have been saying that, so it's true.  And if the Lady Cards don't win tomorrow night, they crashed a few parties (I see you, Baylor and Tennessee), and had a damn good time doing it.  If either one wins, oh.my.goodness.  If they both win.  holy hell.

And I have decided that Kanye's Now Watching the Throne is my Sunday jam.  You know, the one you listen to in your car the day after you partied just a little bit too hard.  The hangover is not debilitating and you need to get out of the house and roll your windows down and just get some fresh air.  And let everyone else in on what you're listening to.
Human beings in a mob
What's a mob to a king? What's a king to a God?
What's a God to a non-believer who don't believe in anything?

Will he make it out alive? Alright, alright, no church in the wild

[Verse 1: Jay-Z]
Tears on the mausoleum floor
Blood stains the Colosseum doors

Lies on the lips of a priest
Thanksgiving disguised as a feast

Rolling in Rolls Royce Corniche
Only the doctors got this, I’m hiding from police

Cocaine seats, all white like I got the whole thing bleached
Drug dealer chic, I’m wondering if a thug’s prayers reach
Is Pious pious cause God loves pious?
Socrates asked whose bias do y'all seek?
All for Plato, screech
I’m out here balling, I know y'all hear my sneaks

Jesus was a carpenter, Yeezy he laid beats
Hova flow the Holy Ghost, get the hell up out your seats, preach

[Hook]

[Bridge: The-Dream]
I live by you, desire
I stand by you, walk through the fire

Your love is my scripture
Let me into your encryption

[Verse 2: Kanye West]
Coke on her black skin
Made a stripe like a zebra, I call that jungle fever

You will not control the threesome
Just roll the weed up until I get me some

We formed a new religion
No sins as long as there’s permission
And deception is the only felony
So never f**k nobody without telling me

Sunglasses and Advil, last night was mad real
Sun coming up, 5 a.m., I wonder if they got cabs still?

Thinking 'bout the girl in all leopard
Who was rubbing the w**d like Kiki Shepherd

Two tattoos: one read "No Apologies"
The other said "Love is Cursed by Monogamy"

It’s something that the pastor don’t preach
It’s something that a teacher can’t teach

When we die the money we can’t keep
But we probably spend it all cause the pain ain’t cheap: preach

[Hook]

If you live near Louisville, hide your couches tonight.  And your valuables.

Thanks Nick! Yea, "herb"al medicine isn't an option for me, so that's out. I took 4 ibuprofen (and 4 more several hours later) and alternated ice and heat. I think that it is probably a pinched nerve starting the muscle spasms. Last night when it started up my husband took a look to see if it looked out and he said the muscles down the entire right side of my back looked swollen, and they were super tight. And I guess it IS out. I need to go to the chiropractor something fierce.

I like rating fans during NCAA tourny's and stuff around my place. This weekend was great for that. There was a gazzillion people up all damn weekend at NCAA Jamfest or bracket city or whatever the hell was going on? They are already filing in the neighborhood and the game doesn't start for like 6 hours.

Best: Louisville. Best looking. Best rips. Best tees. Just an all round good job of "fan-ery" Cardinals.

Worst: Syracuse. Seriously insufferable people in general. Just... yeesh. You stay classy arm pit of NY State.

Tipsiest: Michigan. Good lord these mofo's can drink. Still NOT the worst fans here tho. (Says something about The CUSE imo.) They like high 5's A LOT! "Go BIG BLUE!!!" ha

Sweetest: Wich. St. Just happy to be here and asking a lot of questions about shopping and site seeing etc. Everything was great according to them. "OMG, I love the Papa John's here!" (Cute, I liked them. Best hoodies too.)

My bosses neighbor died.  May have heard of her, not going to her funeral Thursday, instead we are having cocktails and munchies for the immediate family Saturday.  I hope I don't have to wear pink and green.
(Which by the way, when I get to be an old lady, I will not be dying my hair bleach blonde) it looks stupid on an old ass face.

I bought 4, five day passes for Sunfest today.  Best lineup they have had in years and years. http://lineup.sunfest.com/

Bates Motel last episode was really good.  However, I'm not sure old Hitchcock would approve of the director.  Doesn't leave much to the imagination.   Which is why, IMO, Hitchcock movies were great.

It's my brother and my nephews birthday today, and also the anniversary of my other brothers passing.   Kind of in a mood.

I was just bony hands as cold as a winter pole
You held a warm stone out new flowing blood to hold
Oh what a contrast you were
To the brutes in the halls
My timid young fingers held a decent animal.

Over the ramparts you tossed
The scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
Tied to a brick
Sweet as a song
The years have seemed short but the days were long.

Cool of a temperate breeze from dark skies to wet grass
We fell in a field it seems now a thousand summers passed
When our kite lines first crossed
We tied them into knots
And to finally fly apart
We had to cut them off.

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse
So you understand less as the pages turn
Or a movie so crass
And awkwardly cast
That even I could be the star.

I don't look back much as a rule
And all this way before murder was cool
But your memory is here and I'd like it to stay
Warm light on a winter's day.

Over the ramparts you tossed
The scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
Tied to a brick
Sweet as a song
The years have seemed short but the days go slowly by
Two loose kites falling from the sky
Drawn to the ground and an end to flight.

Tied to a brick
Sweet as a song
The years have seemed short but the days go slowly by
Two loose kites falling from the sky
Drawn to the ground and an end to flight.
NICE LINEUP!!!! yes   Jimmy Cliff? Cool!

BTW - If you haven't heard of Slightly Stoopid and if you like 311 & Sublime or Alternative Reggae type of music, don't miss seeing those guys!

Now, this is a fest that I wouldn't mind traveling to Florida for!  It's been 16 yrs since I've been to the Retirement State.  cheeky

Can't really complain about my life specifically (except for the long-term crap that is mostly self-inflicted anyway). Outside world still blows and pisses me off. In other words, the usual.

On the bad side: Accidental Racist, proves all Southern redneck and country music stereotypes true!

On the good side: The first trailer for Rush, a Ron Howard directed film after the 1976 Formula One season. It looks kick ass.

It's hard and probably foolish to make any conclusions after 6 games, but it might be noted that the Orioles are already 0-3 in one-run games and the bullpen has been shaky at times. Regression is a cruel mistress.

Go ahead and count me out of any hagiography towards one Margaret Thatcher.

Nyce, we do a couple of things well in Kentucky.  Basketball and horses.  Oh, and bourbon.

Also the Coeds and female alum are basically TV good looking. It's ridiculous.

I finally caved and listened to the Accidental Racist song. I really, really wish I hadn't. It's bad enough, then LL Cool J shows up, and uh....

Two words for you:  Lily Yeh.  She is an artist who goes into a community and involving them in creating art in public spaces.  She has worked with the Rwandan people to create an area that commemorates the genocide they had to endure.  I have been really moved by watching some videos of her work in Rwanda.  This is an example of just one of the murals the people created:

The park created has become the official commemoration of this horrible tragedy.  Needless to say, I am excited that she is coming to Louisville to create a space in the Parkland area, which was the site of race riots in the summer of 1968.  I hope I get to volunteer with this project.  Her website is www.barefootartists.org if you are interested in this type of thing.

In other news, it's almost game time.  I am a hot mess of a wreck right now and will be for a couple of hours.  Then repeat the nerves tomorrow for the ladies' game.

Less than 3 hours sleep and I HAVE to go to work today.  I'm just glad I woke up to find that it was NOT a dream.  So many little story lines in this final four.  MOP Luke Hancock's dad got to attend the last two games.  He is gravely ill and unable to see him play this year.  Of course, there was Kevin Ware's broken leg.  Pitino's had a huge week with his son being hired in Minnesota, his induction into the Naismith HOF, and a horse making it to the KY Derby.  Then the Lady Cards #partycrashers# are playing tonight.
