I was about to say the same thing, I'm surprised they didn't have any songs on here from those 2 albums, especially Whole Lotta Love.

Those albums didn't peak until a few years later......sad, really!

Same with Jimi and Sabbath...they weren't popular when they came out but became more and more popular shortly thereafter!

I did a search on that BILLBOARD TOP 100 site and there are no ZEPPELIN, JIMI or SABBATH songs in the top 100 for 1969 and I checked every year until 1975 until I gave up!

WTF?!?!

Ok, I did find where WHOLE LOTTA LOVE was #1........F**K BILLBOARD TOP 100!  I'm using a different site from now on!

Which means that these BILLBOARD TOP 100 POLL's has been f**ked since day 1!  Now, I'm pissed!

You seem worked up. :| You know Billboard uses a certain system to get their top 100, right? It's not just popularity or sales, I think it's sales of albums and singles, radio time, and some other crap. Your polls are fine, the lists are more technical (crap). It's like the Oscars. The sh** that wins is never the sh** we all loved, or even saw. This way is better than fan choice ones. They are just as bad.

FYI - Good Times Bad Times - Led Zep I    #80 March 1969   Led Zep l Album peaked at #10
          Whole Lotta Love           -  Led Zep 2   #  4  Dec.   1969
Living Loving Maid          -Led Zep 2   # 65 March  1970
Did you know Stairway to Heaven - mostly requested tune wasn't released as a single.
Jimi Hendrix Experience last '45' was Crosstown Traffic #52 released Dec 1968.
Pinball Wizard - the Who "Tommy"  peaked at #19 March 1969
I guess there were more AM stations back in 1969, most of them would rarely play acid hard rock'n'roll.
That's why I don't see the Who,Joe Cocker or Steppenwolf.

Reminds me of the songs that played out of the AM radio on top of the refrigeratro...when the kitchen light (fluorescent) was turned on, it would cause static in the radio.  Great tunes!

And as to the "good bands" (like Steppenwolf, Zeppelin et al), I didn't know too much about them then, because all we HAD was AM radio...I became much more of a music fan in the 70's, when I then decided to "rediscover" some of the older bands.
