Aww, Pat Summerall died? I met him during the Olympics. He was nice.

Glad to see the weather in Colorado held up enough so the Rockies could sweep a doubleheader with the Mets.  Might have to sweep another one tomorrow if as is expected the game gets canceled today.

Happy Hump Day Q'ers- weather is fantastic in NYC today and I have an owl's nest camped outside my window in the backyard. Cat is going crazy trying to ge outside to get it but I keep seeing a video play in my mind where a kitten gets outside, climbs up on a balcony to chase a bird, but only to find out the bird is an eagle- geesh,,,,, carry on

Great job media on the Marathon bombing news today. /sarcasm/

Pretty much every outlet's different platforms (TV/web site/twitter,etc.) ran conflicting breaking news cross referencing their own breaking news. Anchors we're giving information and using THEIR OWN NETWORK'S WEBSITE as a source which contradicted what the anchor just 'broke' as news. Geezus H. Crepes.

Five books for $3.00 at the library book sale today.  One of them is Christopher Moore's Lamb.  I made out like a bandit.  Later, taters.

Passive aggressive day.

Egg salad for lunch.  Rob left me hanging this a.m.
Used the leaf blower 'cuz my neighbor I can't stand just finished painting his driveway.

Puppy Chow

  • 12 oz. box Crispix cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 12 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2-3 cups powdered sugar

Preparation:

In medium microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips and microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once during cooking, until mixture is melted and smooth. Place the cereal in another large bowl and pour the melted mixture over the cereal. Stir until the cereal is thoroughly coated.

Pour the powdered sugar into a large plastic food bag. Pour the coated cereal into the powdered sugar and shake until it is well covered with the sugar. Pour the cereal onto wax paper to cool and dry. Store in tightly covered containers at room temperature.

From Star Wars, Episode 4, A New Hope.    This dude getting choked.

And when we have famous people only dying "in threes", they get backed up all waiting for their turn.  Sometimes they rush the line all at once.

Good Morning

Just a few quick thoughts.

I hope Durant goes for 80 tonight

Go Rockies

I think I have a ticket to the Avs game Friday.. or my buddy who offered me a ticket to the Flames game was drunk or f*cking with me.  The Avs don't play the Flames again this year, but they play the Oilers Friday night

I have been working approximately 16 hours a day lately

I think I'm gonna shave my beard off

a random note on twitter the other day got me wondering.  how many smurfs would you have to eat for it to be considered a hearty meal?

14 3/8........That's if they are full sized adult smurfs. Multiply that number by 2.37 if they are all babies and or child size. But if they are midget (or dwarf sized, to be politically correct) you only multiply by 1.66.
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there...

I almost forgot.  Happy birthday to my future husband, Sean Bean.

Hi.

My son is home.

I took all the garbage out of the inside of my truck, but it still needs a thorough cleaning.  Boy I had a lot of crap in there.

The cops were out here bright and early this morning (6:30 am) when the neighbor's kid (long story, but the mother used to spend her days calling other parents in the neighborhood to complain about their kids tearing up the ball field, making too much noise, roaring around town on their motorbikes/sleds/quads, etc.., when it was HER kids)  The one who drives the jacked up, glassed-pipes Chevy and roars thru town at 6am or so to work blew down the main drag at about 80 kmh (speed limit is 30 kmh - it's a school zone) ignored the stop sign and sped up to around 120 kmh in the next Kilometre heading to his buddy's for a .....um...."cigarette" before work.  The cop pulled out from behind the store and raced after him,  He apparently tore the truck apart, looking for something.  I guess he got a ticket of some kind, but it didn't do a damn thing, cuz he just blew by my house going  80 again.

*sigh*

I am watching the Flames play, and they are playing really great hockey tonight.  Kipper is a machine.

Are there sides with the smurfs? They are about chicken wing sized, so I agree with Woody, about 15 if you include fries & celery, etc. On their own, I'd say 20+
