Sitcom Madness: For All the Tostitos
Sitcom Madness: For All the Tostitos Photo
This has been interesting to say the least and we are planning to do this kind of thing again, maybe starting with 16? Maybe 64? It depends on the topic. If you have an idea for a bracket, let 'er rip in the comments.

And, stay tuned for "One Shining Moment" after the poll closes following the presentation of The Gabe Kotter Trophy to the eventual winner.

Great job Marcus. Can we have a 'do over' here? I've changed my mind with some of them.

Special thanx to glorious leader Kim Jess-un for hooking me up with the gazillion options in the opening rounds

I'm just compiling votes at this point, lol

No hanging chad situations either. I thought for sure, somewhere along the line with all the d@mn questions and options, that at least ONE would end in a tie. Weird but it never happened. This whole thing was pretty fascinating to me.

bad habits
entertainment
potent potables (and foodables)
beans
(3) South Park

Form a selection committee, do a Top 4 seeds in each region, (64 may be a tad too many imo.) et voila! Guilty Pleasure Madness is born!

Random 'down the Rabbit Hole' stuff I thought was interesting regarding more brackets -

OSCARS best picture by $: Adjusting for inflation, Gone with the Wind's domestic box office number would be $6.5 billion. Roughly the sum of the rest of the top 10 combined.

Worst contracts are sort of impossible to compare. Baseball has no cap & football has a hard cap with a get out of jail "cut" option. The NHL and NBA are the contracts that absolutely cripple a franchise for years, even with amnesty clauses. The only common denominator was the third extended-contract to a star player (no matter how good they are) at 30+ years old. Those are all doomed to come back and haunt a franchise.

TV dramas over the past X amount of time are hard to put into any kind of context. (rise of cable vs. network) And if you do it by decade they all resemble each other too much. Harder than sitcoms I think? Maybe I'm wrong?

I remain baffled. I figured Cosby-Cheers was a lock for the finals once The Simpsons went down. I've watched South Park for a long time and like it a lot, but I never would've guessed I'd be voting for it in the title match. Everybody Loves Raymond, really? Really?

My two big ideas are a Cartoon bracket (could be 64, but 32 is probably more likely), and the yearly movie bracket with seedings based only on box office ranking (my snobbish self insists on 64). We could do 2012 as a dry run, then make it an annual early of the year, pre-Oscar thing.

We need dramedies (dramadies?) those tend to be my faves. Wait no...let's not. Because if Psych didn't win that one or at least go to the finals I might have to stop coming into the Locker Room because I'd be so disappointed in you people.

What was that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Ray does something stupid, then his wife gets mad at him, then his brother gets jealous of him, then his parents come over and his dad insults his mom. Anyone seen that one?
