Today is Thunder Over Louisville, the largest fireworks show in North America and kickoff of the Kentucky Derby Festival.  The rest of this week is fairly quiet as far as events go, until Friday night. It's going to be cooler than usual tonight, so IDK how many people will line the banks of either side of the river.  In good weather, the crowd can be between 700-800,000.  Next week is one big party.  I love the KDF because it means spring has arrived in Kentucky.

And just b/c I missed Gus Johnson so much during the NCAA playoffs....

If you like fireworks, you can catch live coverage here.  The theme this year is television theme songs.  The fireworks start at 9:30 eastern time.

I have the link loaded on my phone :)  It will be fun to sit and watch that for a bit before I make the snowy drive home.  We are having a blizzard.  I hate winter.

I'm glad the police finally caught this idiot and killed his brother.

Have a good weekend everyone

Here Comes the Pain reminds me to put on a little Slayer this afternoon while I do my yardwork.  Thanks Christi!

I've got nothing, so, I'll leave the ladies (and Kevin)  a little eye candy.

I'd call my 4 mile run a "run" except it was more 1/2 mile run, then 3.5 miles of jogging/walking/mostly walking. #doingitwrong

I went to see Oblivion today.  I was not impressed by the trailer, so I was somewhat pleasantly surprised by the movie.  Not too bad at all.  Killing time for the fireworks that start in one hour.

500,000 people on the waterfront for the fireworks tonight.  Tv theme songs is the theme and I pretty much loved the effects with the Sex and the City theme.  About 22 more minutes of fireworks to go...

And this year's fireworks are in the books.  There's always a lot of ass kissing in the control room afterwards.

Thunder over Louisville wouldn't load properly on my phone, so I hightailed it home to my computer.   I got to see some of the end of it, and I have to say, it was f*****g impressive!! I wish they would show it all from the distance they should the very end (the part with the guy in the backwards hat) That was by far the best view, I think and gave the truest vision of "being there"  Some of the other shots were too close, and although you could see one part of the fireworks, the peripheral shot only made me wish I could see it ALL!! Hopefully, some day, I'll be able to see it in person!! :)

Bucs and pucks doubleheader sweep!  Pens defeat the Bruins and wrap up the Eastern Conference, and who better to score the first runs on Paul Maholm and deal him his first loss this year than his old teammates?  Bucs beat the Bravos 3-1.

Those fireworks are awesome, remember watching the TV broadcast of them a couple years ago.

The video of the whole thing is posted on the whas11.com site.  The end was pretty majorly good.  That's the only bad part about watching on tv, not being able to see the "big picture" all the time.  They have fireworks coming off of two bridges and eight barges, so it's a lot bigger than the television can show.

I hope you do get to come down for it.  I'd love to have a good reason to head down for it myself!

I've now watched the whole thing :) I loved all of it, honestly! I remember a few years ago they did a "competition" of fireworks in Vancouver - don't remember what or why, but I happened to be in town during the competition, so my friends and I headed to the waterfront to watch. I LOVE fireworks, especially over the water, it just makes them that much more special. These are the best I have ever seen. I wish they would show it on one of our stations.

Sitting on your front porch watching other people jog/walk by is doing it wrong.  I'm know, I'm an expert!
Doctors say there is really no more heart benefit of running over walking.  cheeky

I'm flipping the doctors off as I head out of the house to grab some waffle house and be a spectator at the zombie run.  Somehow watching zombies chase people is going to make my day infinitely better.  I know it is.

Coffee on the screen.  Happily it didn't make it into the keyboard.

Good stuff.  The run was a 5K, so about 1 K into the thing, the zombies start coming out.  The course was through Iroquois park, which is full of trees and hills...the perfect place for a zombie run.  They had water guns full of red koolaid.  The runners had 3 balloons on their person.  If runners got to the finish line with even one balloon still inflated, they were among the "survivors."  It was a blast to watch.

I was at the Pirates game for my free game thanks to donating blood a couple months ago.  I got a little sunburned but the Bucs beat the Braves 3 in a row and take 3 of 4!  Very impressive homestand, 7-2 against the Reds, Cards, and Bravos!

Greetings, Everybodee!

Busy weekend. Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday cheering on our color guard in their championships.  While they didn't place in the top three, they were amazing.

Then today, I took my two youngers, and we volunteered at an MS Walk.

Of course I had to get up a 4 am each morning.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when I get to sleep in before getting up for work.
