New Smashing Pumpkins music is not hitting me the right way.  Meh.
The band was very good though.  Had a great time in the rain.
Drank way too many beers for a work night.  Every vessel in my right eye is aglow.  I seriously scared myself when I looked in the mirror before I ran out the door for work this a.m.  Woke up at 9.   Work begins at 9:30.   Made it!
Must hydrate.
Train is tonight.   Have 2 extra tickets if anyone wants to use them.  Anyone???

Oh and I saw some people with those clear umbrellas that I always asked for as a kid and my mom wouldn't buy for me.
Now I want one.   Out of spite.

LIFE IS GOOD!!   yes

CUCK THE FANUCKS!!!

Here are some early showings of some of the changes that the Cubs owners are looking to do to Wrigley. BTW - They stated yesterday that if they cannot get a deal done to have the Jumbotron installed, they will move the team.  They claim that the Jumbotron will provide a ton of advertising which will help bring in more revenue to help pay back for the $500 million that the owners are paying, themselves, to renovate the inside and outside of the Park.

If I went to a wedding and they gave me one of those "what should we name the kids?" cards, I would put "Hermione Longbottom".

also, I may have to unfollow Nellie on pin interest because she may have a f**t fetish. :/

my radio station was on a sade kick this morning and i kept giggling thinking if you sade freaks had been there, i'd be saying "ew, oh my gosh stop it, you guys," a whole lot while i was making breakfast.

i don't get scotty brooks playing the rockets that way. i learned a lot about basketball last night and not a lot was good.
1) i know what second chance points means
2) the brighter your stars get, the more free throws they shoot (unless you're asik and you're playing against a bunch of pancake-faced buttheads, in which case, you'll shoot 14 within 3 minutes)
3) comfy leads are the only time to really appreciate how good looking chandler parsons is
4) that one ref is still there from before i lost interest in basketball
5) okc fans (okc fans) leave early. (okc fans do.)
6) hack-a-shaq?
7) eventually these young scrappy rockets will also flop (because it works)
8) perkins needs to calm.down. i've had about enough of his punching the goal pole.
9) series comes back to houston tomorrow and there's no rain in the forecast!
10) is here because of that round-numbers thing i'm weird about

hearing the news about kriss kross was nothing but a massive reminder of how i felt so out of the "cool loop" when i was 11 and had no clue why boys were wearing their clothes backwards.

lastly, if my dogs were career-dogs, i think sweet memo would be a fine librarian (except when the mail guy comes by) and sam-the-dog would be the best firedog specializing in finding and "rescuing" cats in peril.

i thought bob newhart was dead. seeing him on tv yesterday was quite the surprise.

I like the old historic ballparks like Wrigley because they hold the memories of the game and i hear a lot of people with the opinion of leave it alone why spend money on a park that works already. But i really like the idea of adding these new touches i mean you have to modernize eventually and doing these things to get max revenue out of things and to help improve the fan experience doesn't mess with the history of the park at all.  Im sure they will eventually come to an agreement i mean the cubs are not going anywhere no matter how the war of words plays out and who thinks who should pay for what.  And that jumbotron looks like it was supposed to be there !

I could of respected you for the wrigley info alone , but it was prob a little to do with the sexy brown sugar cool (just saying)

Leigh's been following basketball for a few weeks (months?) and correctly called Scotty Brooks out for coaching his team as if they were the Washington Generals. I can't wait for her to get a full dose of the mind boggling Vinny Del Negro experience. In other news my Knicks went full retard, and as we all know, YOU NEVER GO FULL RETARD!!!!

We could have used a little more truculence in that Leafs-Bruins game, right? And Schneider's already hurt so my Lugo prophecy came early.

Habs up, Sens down while you MF'ers bounce to this, plus this thuth:

I think my former female roomate fell on her head and went insane again.  After a long verbal, and supposedly physical fight with her husband sunday night, in which the cops were called, but couldn't take him away because their was no "marks" on her I thought she had finally had enough.  On monday she went on her lunch hour and filed a restraing order against him.  The sheriff's office didn't even try to serve it to him until Tuesday afternoon at 4pm,(REALLY?  24 hours after she filed it?) but of course he was sleeping.

So when she called me to go check if he was still their on her way home from work, I told her he was.  She decided that in order to keep the kids and her somewhat in a peaceful environment for the night to call the office and ask them to serve him Wednesday morning.  It is now 1:30 here on thursday, he found out about the restraining order only after he opened a piece of mail from the county court addressed to her, and still no one from the department has stopped by to serve him, or to move him out of the house.

Since I have no experience with these things, anyone else no policy in these types of cases?  She claims she hasn't dropped the order, which I don't even know if you can once you file one?  If so is their a time limit on when you can?

If she can call and tell them not to serve it until Wednesday, can she not call and ask these questions?

excuse me. i have been following for over a year (it was the actual going to games that lit the fire), but really only understanding since the parsons-makeover/asik-dunking era began. so whatever. months. ok? sheesh. (doesn't asik look a lot like the awkward older brother from fast times? i finally figured it out last night.)

anyway. so i was googling vinny del negro and after getting "vinny del" i figured, if google couldn't finish that one, he didn't exist. and then i saw it:

(deep breath) and i laaaaaughed and laaaaaughed.

in other news, i am learning spanish at the sacrifice of my thursday lunches and the prima class wes muy bueno

Afternoon Q'ers....another gorgeous day here at the NJ Shore.  They finally are going to remove one of the houses that slid into the Barnegat Bay when Superstorm Sandy hit 6 months ago.  It was so weird seeing this...

That house is LITERALLY in the bay...that's not just flooding.  The one behind it is there in the bay too.  Thank God Snooki and her ilk won't be in Seaside this year, coz their roller coaster is no longer on the boardwalk...

They have removed that within the last two weeks.  Mother nature is an awesome force.

Rangers, the GREAT team, play the Capitals tonight.  LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!  (and Kings, too....the OTHER GREAT team).

Enjoy!

Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

My daughter is gonna be so excited.  I placed an order for a sax harness, a new product called a SaxHolder, by Jazzlabs.  It is similar to a drum harness that hooks over the shoulders, removing any strain on the neck.  (She actually has a harness, but it is a multi-strap contraption that buckles into place, while this new one is a thin, solid unit that just rests over the shoulders.)

Well, it arrived today.  I'm trying to decide how to give it to her.  (She doesn't know about me ordering it.)   Her band director had to go out of town, so they don't have practice today.  So, everyone took their instruments home to practice over the weekend.  I am tempted to place the holder in the sax case.  (It folds down and can fit into the bell of the instrument.)   That way, when she practices, she would find it and try it out.   But, knowing her practice habits, especially with all her homework, I'm pretty sure she would find it when she next has practice at school on Tuesday.
Ah! What a fine day for science!...

OK, I do have something, this article on the (probable) *real* reason why the Cubs want these changes to Wrigley and the surrounding neighborhood. The move threat is ridiculous and empty as can be. Never take anything an owner says at face value.

If you'll be betting on the Kentucky Derby, you'll need to adjust for AT THE VERY LEAST, a wet track, and probably even rain.  The whole Derby Festival has had terrific weather.  When both balloon races got off without a hitch last weekend (I think it's been YEARS since both balloon races actually happened), I knew we were in trouble.  Today was the Pegasus Parade and the National Champion Louisville Cardinals and National Champion Runner-Up Lady Cards were Grand Marshals.

I'm almost done with Then We Came To the End.  It's an awesome book. It's gotten a few laughs out of me.

Really not much else going on around here.  Its all Kentucky Derby Festival and then life returns to normal on Sunday.

One of the DJs on our local radio station is a huge Derby fan, so he is giving us updates throughout the day.  It's awesome to hear stuff, if I can't see it :)

I am reading Delirium when I can.  I don't want to put it down, but I have to work.

Work at the Tanning Salon went really well yesterday.  The manager was really happy with my work ethic, and requested that I work Sunday and Monday as well so I can learn closing on Sunday and do full opening on Monday, then I can man the front desk while she and the owner do some minor repairs on one of the beds, change bulbs, etc.  That means 14 days in a row working.  It was supposed to be 18, but I am taking Mother's Day off.

The Kentucky Derby is great.  I'd suggest spending the whole two weeks of the KDF down here.  From the fireworks to the other events, it really is a two week party that amps up the whole week before the race.  Today is the Oaks Race, which is called Kentucky's Kentucky Derby.  A lot more locals go to the track today and let the tourists have their day tomorrow.

Sterling Riggs, one of our news guys, has been highlighting a different Woodford Reserve drink each morning on the newscast.  I tell him he has a tough job.
