Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

This is a rerun.... but Have a Happy Birthday Weekend, Woody! You is my friiiiin.

Things I learned this weekend:
1. 1800, el Jimador, Absolut, Ciroc Berry, and Moscato really shouldn't be mixed in large quantities in the same person over a 4 hour span. (and I'm the responsible one)
1b. I can survive #1 by simply eating 2 chicken wing flats and 4 pcs of celery.
2. My kid is really 26 years old.
3. My sister is unstable.
4. Bin Laden is apparently dead.
5. Thinking that SOMEONE has mafia connections is frowned upon.
6. Cuba Gooding, Jr has been in 75 movies I've never heard of, and his dad sang Everybody Plays the Fool.
7. Mario Van Peeples is alive....and working. (these last 2 were Nyce lessons)
8. I just can't quit.

First of all, nice win for the Golden State Warriors over my Nuggets I truly believe the best team won this series.  With that being said, what "ploy's" are you going to use to not get swept by the Spurs Mark Jackson?  What the Spurs did to Dwight Howard was a lot more aggressive than what the Nuggets "supposedly" were doing to Steph Curry.  Also you have already let the cat out of the bag and let on that David Lee must have had a hip bruise and not a torn hip flexor.  Otherwise Lee needs to be tested for "miracle drugs" because no one comes back from that injury in less than 2 weeks.

The officiating down the stretch was gawdawful and had an effect on the game. It was tough to watch. It made what should have been the best game in the playoffs so far, just another Joey Crawford joke. There were .gifs and vids floating around in real time (by journalist!) highlighting multiple horrendous calls on both sides.

Hockey wasn't fun for me or my timeline, lol I kinda saw that Habs game coming. It's like I have a clear head not living there. I can be a little more objective about them. (I didn't think the brutal hit on Eller had malice or intent, just bad results for the kid.) Also Becky and the Jess-bot did NOT have a good time. I like it when they work blue.

Random:
Peter Vecsey is a big fan of "whale vagina" jokes and is #TeamFollowBack
Metta World Ron Ron is a boxing aficionado
There was an Ankur cameo
Going to visit our cousin in the hospital in a bit. I hate hospitals.

Finally, I really think QMZ should get the credit on the cable news crawls for breaking the insane Reese "ride or die" Witherspoon arrest video. QMZ was on that one like Adam Schefter on a Tebow trade.

BTW - I hope Eller is ok, but, after watching that reply, something like 3000 times, it looked to be a legal hit?  It didn't even look like he hit him in the head area?? I saw a few angles and still couldn't tell? It looked like shoulder to shoulder but when he hit the ice is when the damage was done to his face?

Like I said, no malice or dirty hit. The problem is Rule 48 and the league's potential NFL problem. The rule is really subjective and usually leads to PR discipline. Also the refs called a 5 min interence penalty on the play(wut?) so Shanny factors that in along the all the blood post hit. It's hard to tell where this goes, because the Dept. of Player Safety is very inconsistent and hell bent on making statements.

I think they would have, had Souray not been a bonehead with less than a minute left. Having to start out an OT period (after full intermission) on the PK sucked. *sigh* and is it my imagination or was the first period of that game an absolute joke? Good lord. I don't think I've cussed so much in the span of "20 minutes" in my life.

Obviously I can't really participate in the game threads here when my team is playing. That would be bad.

For those of you that haven't seen or heard this, one of the On-Ice reporters for the Blackhawks, Susannah Collins, had a Freuding slip Tuesday night in which she meant to say "Tremendous Amount of  Success" with regards to the BHAWKS,  but it came out as "Tremendous Amount of Sex"......well, today, Comcast fired her and they CLAIM that it had nothing to do with the slip but due to something she did 4 years ago while working for ShowTime Sports.

I call total BULLSH_ _!!

She did a "Sports Nutz" show with another gal in which some of the reporting was closer to the R Rated ratings than PG.
Here is the link to some of those Sports Nutz segments > SPORTS NUTZ

Are you telling me that they never saw any of this, which, BTW,  was part of her resume, and in these days, all media companies check for that stuff (youtube, twitter, etc) before hiring! Plus, since she was a reporter, they would have had to seen her previous work before even interviewing her!

I hope she files some sort of legal action against Comcast for this and wins!

Stones,

With regards to D.ROSE, I think there is a ton of stuff going on that none of us know about.

1) I think he is being heavily influenced NOT to return this year by family and other athletes that have had the same injury?
2) I think, mentally, he's afraid to come back.  Which, if true, is a HUGE problem
3) I think the BULLS front office is telling him to wait until next year. He is their franchise player and is only 24 yrs old and a majority of athletes, that had his injury, took 1 yr to return from it. Best to play it safer than sorry! - which is where the $$ part comes into play, but, on the Organizations part of protecting their investment more than Rose's end?

I definitely do not think he is getting that "worst teammate in the league" label? If anything, that is only resonating in NBA fans minds that do not know everything that is not being told to the media.

Even Carmelo and LeBron came out publicly and stated that they thought Rose should not hurry back from an injury like this and Adrian Peterson stated that Rose needs to take as much time as possible to make sure he feels 100%.

The media is s**t as always. I think ya have to ask what kind of chance do the bulls have with this team this season at winning the title if Rose comes back, i say very little to none. Once ya come to that conclusion then it makes more sense for him not to rush back to play in these playoffs. Also how effective could be really be after such a long layoff he would def need more then a couple games to get back into "game shape" and make a meaningful impact much tougher in playoffs so yet more reasoning for him not coming back in this scenario.

All these athlete's saying oh he should take his time yada yada yada - f**k off cause right behind that off the camera they turn and say well yea ya know i would of played cause ya know im the man etc etc etc  STFU no one cares what u think and reporter who asked u the question should be slapped on side head wit a f'n brick.

Had he played he would of def gained some respect from his teammates and fans even though it may not have been the best decision they would of had that feeling going to next season that he is back and were on the rise instead of nothing but questions still hanging in mid air.

Sid,

I think Rose has already gained the respect from his peers and most fans, before that injury....don't you?  He did win an MVP Title.

And correct, it WOULD NOT have been the best decision if he came back, especially to gain whatever respect he or anyone else thinks he is lacking.

The smart move, both long term for him and financially for the Bulls, is is for him to come back next year.  It's not like they had a chance to beat Miami this year anyways, if he did come back a month ago.  We need to get some more key players on this team to help support Rose. That was one of the biggest gripes that Chicago fans and media have been complaining about for 2 years now.

I don't think he lacked any respect before but he would of surely gained some afterwards had he came back and played this season esp as late as the playoffs. Not coming back doesn't mean he def losses any from his teammates or fans but at same time you can bet your azz some of the fans and teammates are quietly questioning his toughness now, not all but def some. Plus now it just leaves a big matzo ball hanging out there for offseason as to how well physically and mentally he actually is.

I don't think he should of come back if he wasn't ready and don't think he makes a difference if he does but the offseason either way won't be without question marks surrounding him now.

there are now stories that the Blackhawks top executives are the ones that demanded she get fired.

Apparently they do not take to negative press and back on March 10th, she had tweeted, after the Hawks gave up 4 goals in the 1st period to EDM, the following:

so, apparently, she was being watched closely and the "sex" comment/mistake, on top of the Sports Nutz video's from 4 yrs ago, were enough.

If that is indeed the case, I am EXTREMELY upset with the Blackhawks execs for doing this!

Well, I'm not saying that I agree or disagree.....I've been playing sports for a very long time and I have always tried to play, hurt or not. I'm just saying that sometimes, it's not up to the player.  The organization you play for has a lot of say in the matter and neither one of us, unfortunately, were never  as good as D.ROSE or any other professional athlete to even have that scenario to deal with.

Sweet baby Jesus.  I just saw Ironman 3.  I am so glad the goodness that is RDJ made a comeback.  That movie was phe. nom. en. al.  Loved it.

Is tomorrow really Derby Day?

It's 4:15 and I haven't eaten lunch yet.  Unless Reese's Pieces and a Diet Coke count.  I think I'm going to go have lunch at a 21 yr old Vietnamese/Cuban kid's restaurant.  It's hot that he's 21 and has opened his own restaurant.  And the Vietnamese/Cuban thing, well, that's working out pretty well for him also.

Mo' later.

today was going to be my first friday out on time in too long and then music comes in at 2:07 asking me to print their 400 10-page (11x17 page) programs for "hymn feast." one of the worst parts about working at a church (besides everything) is i can't be all "f**k you, f**k your mom and dad, f**k your face, f**k your cat, f**k your flower garden, f**k your complimentary coldcut lunch, and most importantly, f**k your g**d***ed programs." nope. instead i have to smile, breathe through my eyelids like the galapagos lizards and go "oh don't apologize! no worries, mildred. i'll get these done in no time and have them in your office."

and at the end of the day, i may feel better for not having said, "f**k you, f**k your mom and dad, f**k your face, f**k your cat, f**k your flower garden, f**k your complimentary coldcut lunch, and most importantly, f**k your g**d***ed programs," but i think that i'm at least 20 minutes closer to a heart attack.

when i got to work this morning, the alarms were going off and the door in my office that goes directly to the outside, seedy  and recently homicidal apartment complex next door was wide open and the deadbolt from the inside wasn't just tampered with, but mutilated. i was questioned. i was actually questioned as to whether i came in late and left the door open "for somebody." yes. i left the door open to my personal office so my unchurched friends over at the scary apartments and i could  not steal a g**d***ed thing and by the way, f**k you, you 'non-judging' f**k.

the icing on the cake was getting back from the interrogation and having my retard co-worker start telling me about some retarded bird she saw in her feeder and then she handed me this stupid thing that looks and feels like a hardboiled egg yolk and touts that it is god's greatest gift. which i think is bulls**t cause i'm pretty sure orgasms, sunsets in the texas hill country and copious amounts of vodka are god's greatest gift. so by the way, f**k you too ball or in spanish, "vamanos, huevos!"

oh yeah. and i'm pretty sure i get to punch every one of you people who look at that picture.

The food here is great, and it's getting even better.  The whole scene really started to explode a couple of years ago.  The Hot Brown is decadent.  Really rich and delicious.  I gain about 10 pounds just looking at it.

Plus now it just leaves a big matzo ball hanging out there for offseason as to how well physically and mentally he actually is.

I don't think he should of come back if he wasn't ready and don't think he makes a difference if he does but the offseason either way won't be without question marks surrounding him now.
Maybe not??  It's possible that the Organization sat down and explained the game plan with the entire team?

We will never know, but, I don't think this will tarnish his rep around the league......especially if he comes back next year and had a monster year?

You might want to sit down Nick, because I agree with you.

Rose suffered his injury (a torn ACL mind you) about a year ago. Everyone's making comparisons to Adrian Peterson, which forgets that Peterson is a freak, not the standard. Different bodies heal differently. Plus, what's the point of bringing him back now? The Bulls are so beat up that even if they win Game 7, they have no chance against Miami. Trying to reintegrate Rose into things would just complicate things and probably cause a circus.

I'm guessing that most of the people carrying on about this like they're personally insulted are those who see sports as a morality play and/or are obsessed with "toughness," whatever their personal definition of that word is.

In other news...

What's great about this year's Derby is that it feels like the 6-7 contenders are good horses. It doesn't feel like recent years when the field was described as wide open (and with a field this big it's always wide open) with flawed horses, even the contenders. This year I'm hearing a lot less "buts" when it comes to the favorites.

Caps won last night. That's nice. It's weird though that I was the only one here whose team played last night and wasn't pissed off. Don't worry though, the Caps will embarrass themselves sooner or later.

Last night Community did a whole "origin story" episode, which of course destroying the original premise of a group of people meeting randomly and becoming a surrogate family. The more I think about it, the more blech I feel about it. Parks and Rec though, set up Season 6 beautifully and showed it's ready to break out of the post-wedding slump that was the second half of this season.

Read AV Club's guide to the summer movie season, and I feel much better about Turbo now. The concepts range from meh to atrociously bad to affront to our intelligence. Blech.

I hope she files some sort of legal action against Comcast for this and wins!
