Thanks to all that participated, and I apologize for ruining the locker room experience for some of you.

Cheer you champion, or not.

I'm okay with this. I don't agree with it, but it doesn't make me want to cry. Sorry LR folk...you're stuck with me.

With "Rocky", you need to forget everything which came after, and just concentrate on Stallone's story of the underdog who set a modest goal, and accomplished it. He just wanted to go the distance, and he found the love of his life, besides.

Love this movie, saw it when it came out and now watch it every chance I get!

Worthy winner imo.

On the subject of Sports Movies they were filming one at this year's draft, about a fictionalized Browns draft day, that sounds interesting. Arian Foster plays the #1 pick. I hope Ivan Reitman gets a Jesus Shuttlesworth performance out of him.

This is a super small victory. Well done, jerks.

" and I apologize for ruining the locker room experience for some of you". Word. lol

I thought Rocky was pretty boring when I saw it decades ago...   Perhaps it might be worth another chance.
#7 | 348 days ago

If you didn't like it then, you won't like it now. It hasn't changed.

...but it's still better than Caddyshack.

Yet another movie for the Costner region, if there is a next time.

Rocky was the number one movie on a lot of list I looked at when seeding this pole so it doesn't surprise me it won, especially after Jess' threat campaining against Caddyshack . It does surprise me that Remember the Titans and Miracle did so poorly, and Major League did so well.

It hasn't changed but I may have.

No way in hell it's better than Caddyshack, however.

That's true.

'cept for the Caddyshack part. You people and that awful movie...
#11 | 348 days ago

I wonder if Caddyshack might be a generation thing, and I just missed the cutoff. My parents LOVED that movie.

It is kind of in Costner's wheelhouse, assuming you believe he has one. I digress...

Agreed with those flicks. If we all filled out a complete bracket before the polling, I would have had Miracle winning.

hush your mouth child.cool  Caddyshack was supposed to be idiotic and silly.  funny cast, good gags and jokes and insults.  turned out exactly as advertised. HILARIOUS. yes  Rocky was a decent story.  however...for me, poor cast, poor dialogue and Stallone trying to act had me send this one straight to the sewer.   no

HEY!  frown

I'm close to your age and loved that movie!  It all depends on one's sense of humor, or if one has a sense of humor, I think? cool

Just want to say that Caddyshack contained Ted Knight's and Rodney Dangerfields best movie work.  ("Gambling is illegal at Bushwood, Sir!  And I never slice.)  As well as a a rare amusing performance from Chevy Chase.  ("Don't sell yourself short, Judge.  You're a tremendous slouch.")

I liked Slap Shot, Caddyshack and Rocky.  I used to go past the Art Museum every day when I was studying in Philly.  I did my residency in the neighborhood where they filmed Rocky, and let me tell you, the distance from there to the Art Museum was large.  I was doing my residency when they were filming Rocky V.  It was amazing how they transformed all the buildings in the neighborhood into "Rocky's Neighborhood".  We caught a glimpse of Stallone one day when we were out there at lunch time.

That's why I said *just* missed the cutoff...you're a little older cheeky

(And I have a fantastic sense of humor...even enjoy some silliness...but I am not a huge fan of slapstick and that's one of the worst)
