the three pleasant are...
1. Kansas City Royals
2. Pittsburgh Pirates
3. Arizona Diamondbacks

three disappointments...
1. Los Angeles Angels
2. Los Angeles Dodgers
3.Toronto Blue Jays

even though it's been a month and a half I'm sure things will get back to normal with these teams.

Pleasant surprise...

KC Royals.   A sleeper pick of mine before the season, BTW.  I really don't expect them to contend into September but they seem to perhaps have turned things around some.

Texas Rangers.  They are still on top even after their devastating choke job last year and losing huge pieces of their offense.

LA Dodgers.  Everyone felt that money was going to propel them to the NL West throne.  Thus far they are where they belong.  On the bottom of the NL West!  I think Mattingly's job is in jeopardy.

The SF Giants.  Specifically...  Their staring pitching.  Who would have thought THAT?

Angels.  All that money and they still suck.  If I actually held any animosity for them they would be listed in the pleasant surprise column!

And I really can't come up with another disappointment.  For the most parts teams that look like they wouldn't be good at the beginning haven't been.  I wouldn't call the Blue Jays a disappointment because while they spend money it didn't look to me like they spent it wisely.  It was predictable they would be where they are.
