the last time i used an actual not-used new computer was in 1996 and now there's some tiny machine (that doesn't sound like an airplane landing, but does have a power button) in my house that's running "the ocho." at first we were disappointed to find minesweeper was not included, and we spent at least 10 minutes (our old computer's average bootup time) looking at this image waiting for icons or some thing to pop up:

that screen is just one of 3 (that i am aware of) main menus. there are so many choices to start not knowing where you're going from! and they're all beautiful!

there are menu sliders on all perimeters and two are very useful when you can get them to slide out and two are so impossible to slide out, that we aren't really sure what they do yet. one feature scrunches the traditional main menu down into a cute size of itself and then flings it back up to full size when you let it go.

we haven't figured out how to exit out of this one specific menu. it's not a main menu. i think it's settings, he thinks it's profile stuff.

it's really nice having a computer that doesn't have to think about closing a program. it just closes. and you know what's better than that?? everything just opens! and there's java! and sound! and nothing that suggest risky bad computing habits! and no balloon that pops up and goes "you're computer is full man. you've already deleted everything outside of your massive music collection, so you should probably start saying goodbye to the stuff you really never listen to." and then you open that bubble to "clear disk space" and it says "haha nope. there's not enough room to open this to delete stuff. you. are. f**ked."

we got into a fight yesterday because we tried to crop a photo (the only photo on the whole thing) and couldn't find it. but got lost and somehow found out how to make everything single-click which was cool for about zero minutes. but then we couldn't find out how to make it go back to double click. to assume such an option is under mouse settings is stupid and you know nothing about anything.

so to ease some of the tension building there, we found some kind of math writer program that was an absolute blast (remember - no solitaire, no ski free....):

all in all, it was a great move into the times and i've never felt so lost on a computer. so i went outside and mowed the lawn and played with bugs the rest of the day

Sloppy Seconds!

Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day, even if you come from a place whter mother is half a word....

It got warm on the weekend, but the sun is out now and it's low 60's.  Could be a little warmer, but I'm not complaining.

RANGERS WIN!  King Henrik kept the Rangers in the game yesterday with some PHENOMENAL saves!  Rangers still need to shoot the puck, as they were 0-5 on the PP.  Tonight, they play in Washington and need to....(let's hear it gang)....SHOOT......THE.....PUCK!!!!!!

Here's today's pic...enjoy...

Have a GREAT day!

Random-Musings-Monday:
Spurs-Warriors is like the light skinded brothers' Super Bowl. There's also a nice, little international flavor in the mix.
I'm digging my 'Rangers' have a this-year's-Kings vibe to them pick. I've just put my stink all over them. (see: Ducks in 5) Sorry Doc.
When did 11 year olds start having (web streaming!?!) spring football inter squad games?
Hummus, some sour cream & bottom of the bag Doritos dust. Pita Locos is now a thing. You're welcome 'Murica.
Bill Burr on Netflix. All three specials are hysterically cringe inducing. Umm he goes, THERE.
Holder, The ONLY redeeming part of The Killing, is the new Robocop and is also dating Olivia Munn irl. He's wins everything.

Q'rs

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day here! Really it was. I got word that sister 3 was having health issues (through the grapevine) and so I called her. She tells me EVERYTHING ( after some prodding and laying of the guilt),  Of the 3 SHE is MY FAVORITE....I ask questions about tests (heart) she asks me questions about family health (sometimes it sux being the tree keeper) SHE didn't want to worry me so was waiting for more info..I was butt hurt...she didn't tell me FIRST....we talked for many hours and of course this subject led to that subject and it all ended at "when we were kids" and how much she made me laugh and how much I pissed her off (being the baby and all) and how we all have to go sometime...and me telling her, not you, not yet.....you would think it would of ruined my day, but it didn't...it felt good to talk to her on an adult level...we discussed sister #2 and her prognosis (cloudy with a chance of sun) and skipped over sister #1 (we had nothing nice to say) and we made plans for the summer between Jack's swimming lessons and Joshua's summer school we can squeeze in a week of sisterness....I got hand made Mother's Day cards and (frozen) waffles for breakfast...I got hugs & kisses (a rarity), I got to talk to my sister......
(thanx for listening or (shrugs shoulders)...not...i don't judge)

Hmmm since its rather slow in here today i shall announce my presence with little authority

I had bbq yesterday and whole time i was eating my ribs i was thinking .... (his neighbor has big testicles cause they see that dude everyday , they eat ribs with that dude but they didnt have a clue ....here)

Indeed at times i am sort of a disturbed person indecision

I am rather enjoying the NHL playoffs esp since its first time i really watch multiple series even though i don't have a local team to pull for. So if u have a team in which u enjoy and would like me to pull for them i can be bought (just saying) enlightened

I didn't have s**t to begin with and im sure u can't wait to move on to a more entertaining post so ...... that is all !

well for the most part i had a great first mother's day until the cluster f*** of s*** started & hurtful things were said & I'm still not over it.

when do you say i am done with you hurting my feelings all the time & just move on so you're not upset & miserable all the time?

i just don't know what to do or say anymore...things are the same & never change. i wonder if i rushed into things?

& i really don't think he's over her & that's what scares me to death. what would stop him from leaving me and going to her??

**I'm sorry for the pitty party just upset & trying to vent**

Love these boys I found.  check them out.

Vigrinmarys - Just a Ride

There's traffic on the northern line
We say goodbye the final time
Pretend that we meant something more than this
When the memories you left behind
Remind me you were never mine
The lonely train you left without a kiss

The golden girl, the silver spoon
The eyes like pearls that wept too soon
Haunt me up until the day I die

I climb aboard the sinking ship
Biting on my bottom lip
And wait for time to heal my pride
But time was never on my side
Me and you were just a ride
You and me were just a ride

Seven weeks have come to pass
I stumble on the photograph
To see the lucky man to take my place
You were cloak and dagger from the start
To twist the knife into my heart
Watch my eyes bleed tracks upon my face

Me who lost the will to live
When you who lost the will to give
Taking with the little left inside

I climb aboard the sinking ship
Biting on my bottom lip
And wait for time to heal my pride
But time was never on my side
Me and you were just a ride
Me and you were just a ride
Me and you were just a ride
Me and you were just..

You lied, you lied, you lied, you liar
You lied, you lied, you lied, you liar
You lied, you lied, you lied, you liar
Lied, you lied, you lied, you liar

The golden girl, the silver spoon
The eyes like pearls that wept too soon
Haunt me up until the day I die

I climb aboard the sinking ship
Biting on my bottom lip
And wait for time to heal my pride
I'll love you till the day I die
Me and you were just a ride

Any other moms wake up with a hangover?  I thought not.

Joel made me chocolate chip muffins from scratch and then we went to a brunch my friend hosts every year.
Mm, Bloody Marys.  I brought home quiche and ate it for dinner.

So today I have a wicked headache and blew off my daughter and the grands for lunch.
Alanna called me in tears, was standing at the door with her dress on and purse waiting for me.
I feel like an *sshole.    Oh well, I shall redeem myself and take them later this week.

funny you should mention "*sshole".   it's  a couple years past due but I just scheduled an anal probe for myself to take place at the end of June.  (actually it's taking place in my end).   from the short briefing I got over the phone it appears the prep work will be all fun and games and actual procedure is no problem.  I left the nurse who scheduled this giggling and speechless when I requested the Doc be gentle cuz I can go from  being a nice guy to a complete  *SSHOLE in the wink of an eye.   keep it lighthearted I say.  plenty of time for seriousness if there is a problem.  that is all.

I had a lovely day yesterday. Kiddo let me sleep in, snuggled up next to my big teddy bear (gross, sappy, vomit, ew) until 11. Then she "made" me brunch in bed (Chobani yogurt with a side of croutons and a handful of Red Vines). Good thing the Keurig is easy to use and she knows which coffee creamer's mine - Cinnabon, tyvm. The house was relatively clean, even. So I got up, lazed around, we watched the Mariners game, I read a bit, and then we went to the beach! It was only 57° out and threatening to rain, but...we're in Washington. Par for the course. I even got to take the fur babies, which we usually don't do because Trev doesn't like messing with the kennels. Then he & Kiernan made dinner when we got home while I folded some laundry (I can't help it). After dinner we played Yahtzee and watched the atrocity of a Ducks game.

So I need to find some "nice clothes' to wear by the end of the month. My husband is being pinned and he wants me and Kiernan to do it (aww). I'm pretty sure the Coast Guard doesn't want me wearing a Seahawks hoodie and jeans.

I don't feel good, work sucked, and I missed lunch due to my impatience and stubbornness. Only thing keeping me sane right now is watching Indy 500 practice. Need to get healthy soon, as I leave for Indy in 10 days.

Game 7 tonight. I swear the Caps do better when I don't watch, so I might not. I'm not even sure I care that much at this point.

Thank God this day is over!

One transporter is on vacation all week, two others requested off for today, another was a no-call no-show, one had to cover linen, one went home sick, another left for 2 hours to get her sick daughter from day care, two supervisors are on vacation, Monday is usually the busiest day of the week for us, and a Tug broke.

Is it Friday yet????

I just found solitaire (I haven't browsed much though, in their defense). It's on the home screen with all the tiles under "hp" apps on mine. also, the menu you get when you move the mouse to the top right makes everything pretty easy for me. I just hit search and type in what I want. Keeps me from trying to figure the craziness they've created out... and it really is faster.
