Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

eh.

I wish someone would tell Kobe not to try to save them, they don't wanna be saved... is that project pat? ugh. blech. anyway.
Work really interferes with my lounging around time. I wanna curl up under a blanket and do nothing, dammit.
Almost every new show from last season on NBC and ABC have been cancelled. Duh. I need to see the new line of crap. Also, tallahassee and columbus are making another movie and morgan freeman is in it. I already like it.

Morning, Everybodee!

The Band Director just texted a photo to me.  My name got placed up on the marquee in front of the school.  They decided on me for parent volunteer of the year.  I guess they didn't hear about all my trouble-making, or I just didn't do enough of it.  I'll show them.

I'm attempting to meet with the principal to obtain information.  It appears that we're still not done with the middle school director.  He somehow got placed on the payroll of the high school, by the addition of a steel-drum class, which is held at the middle school.  Apparently we have one or two students who signed up this year, but the time they meet isn't enough to be a full class.  And the class is not on the master schedule for next year, but allegedly, per the VAPA director, he stays on our books.   I'd rather bump him off of that.  If something happens, budget wise, he has seniority in the district over our director, and she would get bumped.  I don't want that.   So, I need to check with the principal to see if there is anything I can do to amend this.  (Apparently, the principal isn't even able to remove him.  Ugh.)

And I finally got to watch Jack Reacher last night.   Not bad, though I've heard Cruise is nothing like the description of Reacher in the books.    But I liked the movie better than Alex Cross.  It was more believable as a story-line and the character.   I'll have to at least check out the books.
And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper...

A couple of these are going to get second lives on Turner, Netflix and Amazon Prime. especially the sitcoms with a few seasons under their belt. I know Happy Endings and the New Normal are getting looks. I could also see Ben & Kate getting some feelers. Also Mob Doctor would be great on Funny or Die, as is.

screenplays from novels never really equal the literary impact although i have come across two screenplays better than the actual novels- Godfather and  A Time to Kill

To which I responded: That's because there's consistent commercial breaks and time outs and preparing the ground layout for the next play.

I'm ticked about Body of Proof- they cancel this show, but The Bachelor 28 is going to air? Ferrealz.

We had kind of unexpected company over the past few days; a couple of guys; one of which both Trev and I have known since we were 17 (it works both ways...long weird story). They got here at midnight Sunday night/Monday morning. We stayed up talking and drinking until 6:00am yesterday. I was sure we were still going to be up when trever came home from work at 7 but we crashed. He walked into the bedroom chuckling and asked me if I was hung over. I threw a pillow at him. I worked at normal time and made lasagna for dinner (two batches). Then we went down to the docks and got chased by giant sea lions. I'm friggin wiped out. But it was a lot of fun.

I know that oh so well.  Several movies I have watched where the butchered the book.  I usually try to have no expectations when watching movies nowadays.

I didn't think A Time to Kill was better, but it was definitely almost as good - especially the closing.

The closing was my selling point also, I just wasnt moved to much by the book and the way the butchered The Firm was one of the reaosn I stopped reading Grisham novels, here's a question for Jess or for anywho who saw the movie- How did Katherine Heigl do playing Stephanie Plum?

Hi gang.
I am a little pooped today. Our summer hockey league kicked off last night. New team, new focus, new goals, waiting on new jerseys unfortunately.. Oh, and waiting on guys to actually show up as we only had 7 damn skaters. Ugh. Granted, it's adult league hockey, but we play 3 - 15 minute stop periods and I played defense last night for 40 of those 45 minutes. I took 1:30 shifts off in the 1st and 3rd periods and served a penalty by the goalie late in the second just to get a breather. My legs are like jello today

I really need to get some work done at my house this weekend

How do you feel about the potential Roy hire? I think the AVS could use a loose cannon behind the bench, but it could also end up being the hockey Hindenberg. (That last part was paraphrase from a french newspaper back home, lol. His junior run was had everything.)

Like toy soldiers...

Starting to watch Season 3 of Game of Thrones.  I'm almost done with the third book.  I'm not liking some of the changes from book to show, but both are very very good.

Memorial Day weekend has been moved from Atlanta to Richmond/DC.

She was okay - not as bad as I thought she was going to be, but not fantastic either. I knew not to expect a whole lot with that movie, so I ended up loving the interpretation. Lula was awesome.

I love it because of the unpredictability. The franchise has fallen into a lull, veiled by arrogance and secrecy that really only plays well when you're winning every year like the early days in town.  But when you have a sh*tty product on the ice and make a conscioius effort to distance yourself from the fan base, things are going to get ugly.  I think with having Sakic as the face of the management was a great first step to try and rebuild that gap, and if Roy has half the fire as a coach he had as a player he's going to be a hit.  Unless he's just awful, then they may want to lower his number from the rafters.
Survey says.... good move

Had a pretty great day today, all things considered.  Neighbor's 36 year old "kid" got pulled over last night, AGAIN for drinking and driving. He tried to outrun the cops, and pulled over to try to get his girlfriend in the driver's seat.  Moron.  Facing jail time this go round.
