Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

*Happy Birthday Month! :D
*My kid didn't want to go to her preschool graduation thing on Saturday, so we didn't. She's crazy in an "I don't mind it" sort of way. Like Mike Mayock and Stephen A..
*Da Vinci's Demons season finale is this week already...****, that's upsetting.
*PSA: If every time you say something, you sound like a bitch, chances are... you are one.
*Doctor Who's Van Gogh episode just made me cry. Rude, early in the morning.

i went to the thrift store yesterday and i got a full dolphin brand wet suit for a dolla (make me holla)! i am still pinching myself to see if it's a dream:

the thing is pristine and has its jacket with it! it makes me look more like this than a diver, but when you're using it to water plants, it's hard to not look like a total dork.

I truly love the USA, however it confuses the heck out of me most days.  So let me get this straight?  If Roy Hibbert were a rapper, it would be perfectly okay to come out with a music video recklessly shooting a gun in the air all the while calling women every offensive name under the sun because it's artistic freedom?  If he were a comedian he could put another celebrity in a chair and call them anything he wanted including homophobic names and simply say he was "Roasting" them on Comedy Central?  If he were the average citizen he could make fun of our president and other's of color/ethinicity or religion because of freedom of speech?  But no, Roy is a member of the NBA.  This means he can listen to,do and watch anything he wants to offensively in the locker room, he can have as many women/ or men as he wants come to his hotel room on the road to spend the night with him doing whatever they wish, but if he takes to social media or says an anti-gay comment during a press conference then he gets a $75K fine because only then has he officially gone "to far?"  WOW!  Just checking.

Sup my peeps?

Karaoke + back-to-back Blackhawks games = a loooooooong weekend.  Ya boy is drained.....but the beat goes on.

How about the Hawks?  I don't dislike the Kings (sans Dustin Brown) and I know they are awesome at home....but we're firing on all cylinders last night and Quick has that wide eyed Luongo look.  I want to win the series, but I hope the Hawks don't ruin another career.

Game 7 in the EC Finals.  Rooting for Indy, but there is no way in hell Stern will allow a Spurs/Pacers finals.  Expect a lot of questionable calls to go in Miami's favor.

What's for lunch? I need suggestions.

Game 7: I was just saying last night that I noticed Stern stretched out that series and how great it would be if the Pacers accidently won that b****. I know it won't happen but I'll be rooting for it, mostly because I hate David Stern. Is this his last year?

How dare you compare Quick to Luongo.......lol Quick has a CUP (and I'm surprised NBC doesn't remind the audience about it (he is the ONLY one left who's won it for their team) like they do everything else). He's fine. Surprised nobody checked out Quick's record after he's pulled from a game. He's pretty badass and has been lit up by the Hawks before. He'll somehow survive. As for the rest of the team, I'm thinking those hard fought and pounding series with the Blues and Sharks have a lot to do with the Kings poor play. Hawks are good....damn good. I'm just hoping home ice wakes the Kings up................and we get a series. MIA----Kopitar.

I love Brown. Great captain....and if he was on your team you'd love him, too.

Morning, Everybodee!

Band concert on Friday was pretty good.    We hosted a local middle school choir and concert band, our guard had some performances, and our musicians played.   There was one piece where the principal and another teacher performed as well.    He belted out some notes on the french horn, and she looked adorable playing the cymbals in her blue wig.  (She was hosting a sleepover  with the Anime Club in the next building, and had came dressed up.)

Award Banquet on Saturday was fun.  I was even given an "award" as well.  For all my volunteering with the group, I was given a Title.  For the past few years, I have gone by the title "Lord" Oddfool.  (Actually, Lord Chaos.  I've even have my Legion of Chaos, Havok, Mayhem, Disorder, and Hysteria -  my kids)     Well, the director had arranged one of those Scottish Land-owner deals online in my name.   I am now Lord Oddfool, owning a small plot in Scotland.  (about 1' x 1', I believe.)     It is with a conservator ship, they raise money to keep an area natural.  (I'm told that in the event that some company wants to develop the land, they need to deal with all the separate land owners, plot by plot.)

I had a newby move in the townhome right next to me.  Saw the dude a few times and then Sat night I ran into him again and said "hey".  Convo went like this,

ME: Hey, did you just move in?
HIM: Yeah, just about. Still a few more things left.
ME: I'm Nick (handshake)
HIM:  I'm Robert (handshake)
ME: Nice to meet you.  You from around here?
HIM: From Chicago, went to school at Notre Dame.  I travel a lot so you'll either see me or my roomie from time to time walking the dog.
ME: Cool......what do you do for work?
HIM:  I play Football
ME: Really?  What's your last name?
HIM: Hughes
ME:  The RB?
HIM: Yep.  I played for Chicago and Washington but I'm a Free Agent currently.
ME:  Yeah, you had a great College career but got hung up in the numbers game here with Forte and Bush. That sucks!  Don't ever give up, you'll get your break!  Any bites?
HIM: Thanks!   I have a tryout with Miami tomorrow
ME: Very cool.  Good luck and let me know if you ever need anything.
HIM: Thanks, man!  That's very cool of you.
ME:  You wanna go get some ZIMA's?
HIM: WTF?!?

Ok, ok, those last 2 lines were made up......DUH!  You think I'm sharing Zima's with just anyone?!?

Haha that’s awesome.  Tell him I said “Huuuuuuuughes” and thank him for his dominating performance during his senior year vs Southern Cal.  It helped snap an 8 game losing streak.  He’s from Chicago originally, fyi, and he’s dealt with some major setbacks including his brother being murdered.    Hope he finds a home in Miami.

@ash – not sure, but I don’t think Stern will step down anytime soon.  Would love to see LeFlop lose, though.

@kteach – I was just trying to rile you up.  I know Quick is no Luongo.   That gif is great.

Funny you mention that.  I saw a guy walking his dog yesterday and introduced myself and asked if he was Robert's brother (not sure how many brother's he may have) and the guy tells me,. No, and that he also played football with Robert and ND.  The guys name is Corey/Cory/Korey ??? and plays OLB.  He played with the Colts last year but he said he'll probably be playing in the Canadian league this year.  I did not get his last name but this guy was like 5'9 200 lbs...definitely NOT LB side and I don't see anyone on the ND or INDY roster (including the Practice Squad), since 2009 with the name of Corey, Cory, Kory, etc, etc, with the exception of Corey Redding (Colts) and he's like 6'5 375.....I don't who this guy was, but I'm not sure if he played FB at ND or INDY

BTW - Robert seems like one hell-uva nice guy and the bro is huge!  He's like 5'11 240-245 and all muscle!

Finally, I saw this little poem last night

Jonathan be nimble, Jonathan be Quick, Jonathan isn't fast enough to beat Shaw's stick.

Do better? Really?

I'm not surprised the Hawks are up 2-0, like I said on Friday, I think they match up well against the Kings, probably better than any other team in the West. They play a style that doesn't quit, and even late in game 2 the D for the Kings haven't figured out that they don't have all the time in the world coming out of their zone. I also wasn't surprised to see Fraser and Clifford trying to create a spark late in the game. Kings were completely out of their element by the end of that game, they need to figure ish out before game 3

In the East, it didn't take long for the Bruins to get into the heads of the Pens. The analysis I kept hearing afterwards is the Pens need to just play their game and this series will essentially be a cakewalk. I don't see that at all. Even if the Pens are more disciplined, the Bruins aren't the Islanders, it's going to be a tough go. Just like in every playoff year, matchups play a key role. The Bruins style of play neutralizes a lot of the advantages Pittsburgh naturally has over other teams. I can't wait to see how the game unfolds tonight

In the NBA, I've gotten a kick out of sports radio talking about the Heat-Pacers series. I have watched approximately 0 seconds of this series, but here's what I've taken from it. Lebron may be better than Jordan. People are just now realizing Chris Bosh isn't an elite player? I love how Dwayne Wade just looks after what's best for Dwayne Wade and Dwayne Wade's legacy. Roy Hibbert isn't the kind of person to talk like that (but.. he..). Before SportsCenter last night, if i had heard the name Paul George I would have assumed it was a member of One Direction or someone messed up Chris Paul's name. Birdman is still douchetastic. I still have no desire to watch the game tonight

I'd settle for getting shots on net and not 2 feet away.

But yes, Chicago was a team I worried about facing from the very beginning.

Well, it is Monday and I am at home eating an two day old Egg McMuffin and one of those Laughing Cow little round cheese things with my Shih Tzu. I think we may go out of for a couple of beers and some wings later... just kidding, kinda.

Well, I picked the Kings in 6... looks like I am going to hit it right on the money. Kings winning four in a row begins at Staples. OMG. Oh, and Quick is a ninja. BTW. Go Kings!

I still think I will win my wager with Jason about the Braves winning it all. I am going to give him the Qbucks to pay me off, I'm crazy like that.

Richard Seymour will sign with the Falcons, hide and watch. Football begins next month. Go Falcons!

Tomorrow is the High School Teachers gig. It will be a good time, pics to follow. Maybe a video. Woohoo...

That's all folks.

Have a good one and remember, only haters hate and taters tate. Out.

Ray-Ray definitely has that swag!  But, don't count Crow out either.  Bernier would have gotten his 2nd string ass handed to him.

I don't think so, Bernier is kinda / sorta part of the lunatic fringe. He wasn't just asking 'to go' to be asking. Quick - Crawford & Bernier - Ray Ray would be the best (better?) match ups. Actually, I hope all this happens before the series ends. I'm enjoying all this bad blood that I was unfamiliar with.

Probably another Chicago native, Corey Mays.  The light didn't come on for him until his senior year.  He also played for the Chiefs and Bengals.   Real good dude from all accounts....like most ND players.  I don't recall him playing for Indy either.

Hot off the presses:

Only one university has placed a program in the sweet sixteen of college football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball (2012-13 season):

The University of Louisville.

Make note of this: Only two other programs made the sweet sixteen in even three of those four sports.

Not to be mistaken for Curly Neal

Kerry Neal from Bunn, NC.  He was one of Cholly Weis' first recruits and came from a VERY poor background.  He's the type of kid I'll always root for...even if he played at Michigan.  Did you experience a late life growth spurt?  Because he is definitely at least 6'1.

HAHAHA!   Yes, I did.  I was 5'9, 155 LB's when I graduated from GBN and now I'm 6'1 205 LBS.

I'm telling you, I was standing an arms length away from him and he did not seem taller than me and as for his weight, Hughes is 245 and he didn't look anywhere close to that. If I had give police stats, I would of said 6'0 225. cool

Kerry also seemed like a really nice guy!  Talked to him for a minute and you could just tell that he was a genuine guy! yes

They always jack up player's height/weight.  My buddy TJ Duckett went from 6'0 225 as a HS senior to 6'4 260 by the time he arrived on campus his frosh year.  He's 6'1 without a doubt.

I just got choked up over this!

I'm telling you, if you aren't a Dog lover, you don't know what you are missing.  They are the most loyal thing out there!

Incredibly heartbreaking photo of a police dog saying goodbye to his fallen partner.
Kentucky police officer Jason Ellis was killed in a suspected ambush over the weekend.

At his funeral, his K-9 partner, Fido, honored him, laying a paw on his coffin.

Fido has been retired and given to the family.

And, in other news, a trip to The Comfy Cow may be in order.

I think it only rained today on my way to work and when I was leaving work. Of course.

Received my furlough notice. They will start July 15th. It's just what I never wanted!

Rooting for the Pacers tonight, but primarily because of my Indy connections and not out of any malice towards the Heat. I want either of them to beat the Spurs anyway.

James (aka Chief) showed me a site that streams nothing but 90s Nickelodeon shows. It quickly became addicting.

Sometimes when my husband gets home from duty in the morning after a long weekend, he goes to the spare room, lays on the futon and watches TV and naps until I wake him up or he sets an alarm. So today I got up, turned the TV on, went through all the morning stuff and got to work thinking I would just go in and wake him up. I got a text from him around noon with photos of bows he's looking at for me. Okay then. Here I sat a few hours thinking my husband was home and all the while he's an hour away. Mkay then.

I am going through my utility building and stumbled up on an old Redline band pic, the band I was in where we were doing a lot of original tunes, rock, and blues. This was taken around 1990 when I was young like you folks. It was at a balloon festival, the largest crowd I've ever played for and we really had them rocking that night. The scan was from my phone, excuse the quality. You now see what a 32 y.o. bean looks like.

RIP, unofficial king of sacks! The stat may not be yours, but you are why it exisit!

The NFL lost a true legend of the game, he coined the phrase "sacking the Quarterback." If there was ever a player that you could argue that their number should be retired by the NFL for their on-field play. It would be Deacon Jones. This man was so good that he created a stat that was not kept in the NFL, at the time he played. He was drafted in the 14th round, round wise he would have not been taken in this years draft. Pick wise he would have been selected in the 6tth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Heck no, that was a great bass player and vocalist I was lucky enough to pick with a few years. He was about 6'7" and 350+ lbs. It is always kinda nice having a dude like that  in a band, especially when you are settling up with club owners at the end of an evening. I am the string Bean in the bottom left with the OMG Strat.
