Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I'm thinking J. Kidd may not be coach material. I see a "coach hit me with the bench" scandal.
I enjoyed "Fool".
I made a poll, yesterday. Take it.
Anyway, good day.

OH EM GEE...FIRST!

Gooood morning, FanIQ and TGIF!  Why is it that when you're off on a weekday it's worse than being at work?  I have that luxury today thanks to working till all hell freezes over on the weekend, and I have a ton of crap to do today, most importantly buying a new printer.  I'm also going to start looking for a new bike, haven't had one since high school and I think I'm going to buy one as a birthday present to myself.  Let's go Bucs, and more importantly...let's go HAWKS!  Oh, and this still never gets old...

Sixth!!!

Happy Friday, Q'ers!  Been a busy week, so I haven't posted much...hope all is well with everyone.

Went into New York on Wednesday to see the Lion King for the matinee....GREAT show!  We were in the 4th row, so I said to my daughter that we're so close that Scar might claw us....well...guess what wound up on Facebook?  Went to Serendipity 3 for dinner afterwards...wife said "it's not that far"...well...20 city blocks and an hour later, we made it...didn't get the $1,000 sundae, though....

Yankees need a new hitting coach AND a new manager....Girardi thinks too much, and uses that damn "book" too much.  Adam Warren pitched 6 innings of 4 hit ball and was GREAT....so Girardi removes him....then...in the 18th inning, brings in the closer, Rivera, with men on base....too much "matchup" bs.....and hitters 4-7 were a combined 0-28 yesterday....time to get rid of Kevin Long, their hitting coach...

Here's today's pic....

Have a GREAT weekend!!

I made a poll yesterday twice and it never appeared.  Overt.  Maybe later.

My washer is not working (it overflows), waiting on a part.  I have to go to the laundrymat.   It's never good.  God people always try to save me and it gets ugly for them.   Then they huddle and pray and speak in tongues.   I may video.   Bigots, ain't nobody got time for that.

The Avett Brothers - The Ballad of Love and Hate

Love writes a letter and sends it to hate.
My vacations ending. I'm coming home late.
The weather was fine and the ocean was great
and I can't wait to see you again.

Hate reads the letter and throws it away.
"No one here cares if you go or you stay.
I barely even noticed that you were away.
I'll see you or I won't, whatever."

Love sings a song as she sails through the sky.
The water looks bluer through her pretty eyes.
And everyone knows it whenever she flies,
and also when she comes down.

Hate keeps his head up and walks through the street.
Every stranger and drifter he greets.
And shakes hands with every loner he meets
With a serious look on his face.

Love arrives safely with suitcase in tow.
Carrying with her the good things we know.
A reason to live and a reason to grow.
To trust. And to hope. And to care.

Hate sits alone on the hood of his car.
Without much regard to the moon or the stars.
Lazily killing the last of a jar
Of the strongest stuff you can drink.

Love takes a taxi, a young man drives.
As soon as he sees her, hope fills his eyes.
But tears follow after, at the end of the ride,
Cause he might never see her again.

Hate gets home lucky to still be alive.
He screams o'er the sidewalk and into the drive.
The clock in the kitchen says 2:55,
And the clock in the kitchen is slow.

Love has been waiting, patient and kind.
Just wanting a phone call or some kind of sign,
That the one that she cares for, who's out of his mind,
Will make it back safe to her arms.

Hate stumbles forward and leans in the door.
Weary head hung, eyes to the floor.
He says "Love, I'm sorry", and she says, "What for?
I'm your and that's it, Whatever.
I should not have been gone for so long.
I'm your's and that's it, forever."

You're mine and that's it, forever.

My daughter had an awards ceremony at her school this morning, and because we live on a reservation and the school and entire community is pretty much all Makah, it's a huge part of the culture here. So for the ceremony, the fourth and fifth graders performed Makah song and dance for the staff and parents to honor their ancestors and tribe elders. My daughter is in the fifth grade, so she was part of the performance, and I must say...I was proud. She danced beautifully.

I didn't get up with her this morning because my husband and I take turns seeing her off to school in the morning so I'm not taking the blame on this one.

I bought her a shirt for St. Patricks day to wear to school so she could have some green.

She wore it today.

Wanna know what it says?

"Lucky to be Irish!"

Any other day, child. ANY. OTHER. DAY.

My husband brought home a fletching jig for me last night. I can't even begin to describe how awesome this is. heart

Have a GREAT weekend!!
I would say the bigger problem was not using Rivera, their best reliever, until the 18th inning because of slavish beholding to the save rule (which they all do, Baker yesterday lost a 15 inning game without putting Chapman in). Warren went 6 innings and threw 86 pitches. That's about the limit for anyone, even a long reliever.

The 0-28 thing was a particularly nasty bit of bad luck that frustrates all baseball fans, but the fact of the matter is the Yankees' offense outside of Cano isn't very good, as all the guy that started hot have fallen back to earth. Wanting to fire Girardi and/or Long is either rearranging desk chairs, or just entitled Yankee fan speak. Probably both.

BTW, I swear in real life I'm not this much of a humorless ***hole (my humor does not translate to text at all). The way I figure it though, if I suddenly changed personalities, nobody would believe it anyway, so screw it. Also, I really like being right. cheeky

A good friend of mine has opened a restaurant in Louisville called Sidebar.  It's a burger joint with some great sides and beverage options.  I went last Sunday, and by Tuesday, I was craving it again.  I'm so glad that everyone is enjoying the place, and it looks like it will be a success.

It's Friday, bitches!!!

I saw Man of Steel today.  Aside from the fact that I'd have Henry Cavill's children, I was not all that impressed.  It was a little on the long end of indestructibles trying to destroy each other.

I just finished reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  It's a pretty good book with a wtf? factor with just about every turn of the page.

And even the Wall Street Journal is throwing the Louisville Cardinals some love.  We take on Indiana at 8 pm tonight in Omaha.  Go Cards!

WoW, you almost always make me laugh (idk if you are trying or not)

as for the new Superman: whenever I hear that or "man of steel" or "smallville", I can only see Christopher Reeve and it just ruins everything else for me :/

Yesterday marked 18 months since my last cigarette. Also I didn't know they made a fletching jig, but it is disgusting either way.

Fletching-- After @n@l sex, the dominant male sucks up all s*m*n and f*c@l matter from the @nus, sloshes it around in his mouth and passes it back to the other person through a mouth-to-mouth kiss.
Look like I got on a championship ring...
